This reminds me of how Crossover Games are very popular in Japan. Many IPs aren't afraid to do crossovers, and one of the primest examples is Super Robot Wars, a Mecha Crossover Strategy which gathers a bunch of Mecha Anime Characters and put them in one game where they can interact with each other. And then theres the one of the 3DS, to which I remember one thing, Majima seeing Tiki from Fire Emblem and saying "I would've jumped into the portal long ago had I known there was hot babes in another universe."
@@dudebroguyman yeah, it was that one. I didn't know much about it, but when I realize is also had Resident Evil, I was suped. Never played it though, but from what I've been told, it has some great dialogue between the characters, which is one of necessities needed for a good crossover game.
I think it's a fun game to play with a fellow fighting/anime friend. But it just doesn't last. I wanted to love this game to death and really hoped it got better support.

Agreed. Like don’t get me wrong the game would’ve still had lots of problems but it’s odd that they made it 3v3 but then only had 1 big health bar for your whole team

I think maybe because demon slayer is just a way better game that it doesn’t bother me whereas jump force was so bad that every little problem really stood out to me if that makes sense.
I got this game shortly after launch and had a lot of fun with couch battles against friends. Working on the story mode though felt draining, I remember feeling like I had to either spam against or just get spammed.
It sucks when crossovers like this flop so hard, all that time effort and money and negotiations to make everything come together without any chance of getting another swing at it to do it right again for a really long time if ever :/
There's not a lot of "negotiations" going on with Shonen Jumpforce, more like holding mangakas' livelihoods hostage for character righs in games. It's kinda in the name, they're all manga series owned and licensed by the Shonen Jump publishing company.
My son really likes this game on the ps4. We never bought any of the dlc so my son was bummed he couldn’t get the extra characters. thanks for telling us about how the switch has some extra season one characters . Gotta get that version now.
Jump super stars / jump ultimate stars were the 2D predecessors to this game. Jump Ultimate Stars is a top fighting game of all time for me. Highly recommend if you haven’t checked it out.
I hope they make a 55th anniversary game for Weekly Shonen Jump. They could improve upon Jump Force so much and add newer series such as Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, Mission: Yozakura Family, Undead Unluck, Mashle, and Sakamoto Days.
Just reinstalled this game and wow… playing ultra hard as dio with headphones on and the volume to the max with some music is just the BEST. Something about this game just completely sucks me in when I’m playing and it has my adrenaline up to the max, goated ass game
I bought it over a year ago and JUST Started playing it On Steam...MAN I LOVE THIS GAME. And on top of that I'm watching DragonBall Z Kai again with my Lil Ones so I'm ALL IN ova hea.

I really loved playing this game. I made my OC have the shinobi movements and then made him be a better Shoto Todoroki by using only Fire and Ice elemental skills XD
I missed out on the last few of the DLC, but I’m glad to own the ones I did manage to get. Up until Todoroki, and then I just stopped paying attention to the game and hadn’t realized more characters had released, but by that time it was too late 😬 the completionist in me is pained by not having the entire roster, but Kaiba was the only one I even really cared about and he was first so that was perfect. I wish Ryuk had made the roster, I know it wouldn’t have made much sense for him to fight, but it would have been a cool “what if?” Situation.
I remember pre ordering this at GameStop for PS4 and it came with a small booklet with all the characters, I have the digital version on the switch but honest I really didn’t play it that much… even when it first came out. I’ll have to give it another try and really finish the game this time.

I actually liked this game for all of its flaws. It has since been delisted due to all the licenses expiring. 2024 is Jump's 55th anniversary, so hopefully we get an announcement for the next game soon. A sequel was teased during the final post-game missions. I thought we would have gotten a reveal during Summer Game Fest, as Microsoft's E3 showcase was when Jump Force was revealed. Maybe we'll see it at Gamescom or Tokyo Game Show. Also, those Jump Stars Ultimax "leaks" are totally bogus.
Redownloaded tonight cus it’s a great couch multiplayer game. Even online when I was against cheesy sauske spammers you could still fight your way through it and alot of people didn’t want that kinda of challenge. It’a unfair forsure but it atleast gave people that weren’t that good a fighting chance 😂 and when you get accepted for multiple rematches it feels pretty great.
One thing about how huge the lobby is, is that the game never mentions you can use vehicles to travel faster lol. I only ever learned about that when I was halfway into the story
I was able to get the main game on Steam before it was de-listed. Now, I only hope to see if I can find someone that someday might sell a dlc character pass 2 codd as I have not seen any.
I still play and like this game from time too time despite what people say I do watch reviews but I don't usually like too listen too most of them because most reviewers will review a modern game poorly
I remember buying Jump Force in Christmas 2020 with my xbox one and i don't have the dlc characters. But I did finish the game in 100% and max out too level 100. also I had fun with it and I still have my game copy and still play it till this day.
I had a coworker who told me he was getting this game and hyped it up so I got it and the next day asked him did he get it and was like “naaaah man I heard it sucked” I was so pissed but I enjoyed some moments in this game
This game is still widely available in stores near me... my gamestop has a ton of copies... my Wal-Mart has new copies for like $10... so the not available in stores doesn't seem accurate
This game had a lot of potential. The gameplay isn't bad and I actually have a decent amount of fun playing it against my friends. But it's not perfect and in some ways, leaves a lot to be desired. The visuals are just… bad. If the game had even a fraction of the visuals of what we've seen from the recent Budokai Tenkaichi teaser, it would've been 1000% better than what we got. I'm not gonna pretend a game like this could've had an amazing story, but almost anything could've been better than what we got. It needed more time to polish animations, fix the bugs and glitches, and much more. Also, the create a character is cool, but by the time this game came out, it felt played out so I would've personally not included it. Also, fun fact for people who don't know, before Bleach came back with it's anime adaptation of the Thousand Year Blood War arc, this was actually the first time we saw Ichigo, Rukia, and Renji from the war arc, outside of the manga. So the stuff you seem them do in the game, hadn't even been adapted yet for people who only saw the anime. And if you didn't know that, that was a huge freaking deal!
Idk if you tried J Stars Victory + but this game is basically a "better" version of that game, I personally like J stars better for the art style. You should try it out, would make a good video.

i liked jumpforce. mainly for the story mode and character customization. it felt really good making a character that looked like me, and having my chatacter interact with everybody from shonen jump. as far as the dlc goes i was disappointed in the end. i don't like paying for dlc in the 1st place, but if i had to i really wanted other characters to be in the game. yoh asakura, bobobo bo bo bobo, even that anime character stan lee made for shonen jump called ultimo. i remember the trailer for this game and when they showed light and ryuk i really thought they were gonna let us play as them. i don't know how it would work, but i was disappointed that they didn't. lol
The reason you can see ryuk is because your character in the game technically died. My second theory is that the onyx books are death notes. Since your character has one of the cubes made from the onyx books that could be another reason you can see ryuk.
My theory is that the character from the game is from the real world, and people from the real world who read/watch death note can see Ryuk so there's no reason why player character can't see him... its a pretty meta explanation but the games goes pretty meta in the finals 10-15 minutes 😂
The thing I didn't like was the customizations. I wanted my character to have SOME original designs, I wanted to look like a badass that the main 3 needed help from, not madara from universe 313.
The loading time really takes a lot out of the excitement since it loads cinematic to fights and back to cinematic. Then reloading the same amount of time when you're picking rematch.
I think another big thing missing from the game is selectable/changeable iconic moves and outfits for the actual roster and not just the playable character. Like let me play different versions of characters with different moves (I.E. Ninja Storm)
if you're desperate pirated versions of this game work fine and the mods that go with it haven't caused me many problems yet, like any pirate it's the download I used came with some caveats, just a 3rd party downloader to make it go faster and transfer without corrupting, but regardless of any firmware I may have overlooked it has no kinks (no online is tough but lets be honest, no one had fun online anyway) Gameplay does feel clunky too forsure but compared to some 3D fighting games it has a decent skill gap with secret and discoverable tech all be it alot of assist tech but combos would be insane if not for the combo limit
I got this for my veteran friend who’s a huge anime/video game fan. I though it was the best of both worlds and right up our alley, so I got it for him for Christmas one year. He booted it up and I almost died of embarrassment 😅
Why they shit down the game Is a compl mystery to me. It was a sinple game where all you had to do was update the characters and update the way character’s fight and also add elements with effects on characters. Buffs and debuffs.
Just play jump ultimate stars, a much more technically proficient fighter with more characters, maps, and single player content. You can’t sleep on this one Matty!
I believe another issue this game has and why they delisted the fans was for licensing issues. They have to keep relicensing shonen to keep the game up on stores.

thats why i try to resist the "all digital era", preservation will allways have its role with games. even bad games get resurrected in the community. though i wouldn't be surprised if they delisted the game because a jumpforce 2 is on the way
Legit I went back and got all the online trophies before the online servers shutdown. And I have all the dlc on PS4 and PC luckily before they got pulled. Ngl I thought it was fun playing with friends but everything else was kinda lacking.
I got this game as a gift for Christmas 2019, and then got both of the fighter passes on PS4, and then I bought the game and all its DLC on PC, so I'm good. Anyways, Hyoga, Shun and/or Ikki should've been in the game along with Kinnikuman and Joseph Joestar. Other than that, the low budget story mode, and the uncanny artstyle, I don't mind this game. It's one of those fun couch multiplayer games.
We need a game with this type of roster but in the style of fighterz. 3v3 more traditional 2d game like fighterz with this roster would go crazy. But I’m being rather bias cus I’ve been wanting a traditional 2d one piece fighting game for awhile, I think you could do so much with that and one piece has a wild roster of characters that would work great in a competitive fighting game format
I think the game was delisted due to licensing issues cause the next jojo game would soon come out in 2022, (and jojos is a series known for being a licensing nightmare due to holding so many) regardless, the game financially still did well for Bandai despite its infamous reputation online
I have learned to be cautious of reviews when it comes to fighting games because reviewers are like "The online sucks so 1/10" but then a person like me who honestly cannot be bothered about the online features sees the scores and be like "okay I guess the game sucks?" I got this game on switch just before it was shutdown forever on a massive discount. Booted it up, saw the laggy intro and figured, "oh this is what the reviewers are upset about", put it down and for 2 years never touched it again. I played some J-Stars recently which got me thinking of Jump Force again so I re-downloaded it, got past the laggy intro and good lord what an amazing game. Still playing it now and absolutely loving it.
Don't get me wrong, i loved the cross overs, i loved the graphics, the storyline not so, but what i really dislike about it is how repetitive the missions could get like i swear i fell asleep while playing, i had to switch to a different game after that
Jump Force was one of those games I almost pulled the trigger on at launch. I'm so glad I waited to see what their plans were. As soon as I saw that they weren't going to dub it, it set off red flags. Then, there were the server issues being reported. It was a flop from the get-go.
The game sold incredibly well (I'm not even joking, just look at the sales on google) it was delisted because of Dragon Quest Dai or Yugi and license right. These 2 mangas are not only Shueisha's property but also respectively Square Enix and Konami. So Bandai probably had to deal with a bigger and expensive contract in order to put Dai and Yugi/Kaiba in this game. This is the reason why the previous game (J-stars) is still avalaible despite having FAR less sales and popularity. I still think the gameplay is far better than most of the 3D arena fighters, while I agree with you on the fact that it encourages cheese instead of skill, if you have played with good players (and I mean people who are still playing since 2019), you will see what is so good about the gameplay mechanics. A lot of things are not written in the tutorial, a lot of "combos" and synergy are only possible if you spent a lot of time in the training mode. Spamming super and square is only a beginner thing, this game is more about your position on the map (in order to dash or jump to dodge an attack) and mixes-up your opponent with light attack, heavys, down/up tilt, grab, supers to trick your opponent + other tech that the game doesn't tells you. Even escaping combo's ask the players to be good at timing and how/when to use efficiently stamina's bar. Without stamina you can't dash, escape, counter attack and you have only one "permutation/escape" before it get consummed. PS : I hate the story mode and the Art direction of the game...

There's no way now, I have every character in my PS4 and my Switch Version, but I couldn't get all the characters for my Xbox version, so now my Xbox version is forever missing Character Pass 2 characters.
They had a good idea and the fighting was very good but you could tell they didn't put their all into this game. Sadly this is how majority of anime games are treated
I think a more accurate title for this game would be “ONE PIECE: a Jump Force adventure.” because it’s very One Piece focused. Like the developers knew more about that series more then the others.
Imma be honest. The Yu ghi oh characters were done so well, i low key wish they made an arena fighter for that series.

It didn't flop that bad financially, alot of people bought it, and even had a second DLC character season.

Its the kind of game you pull out at a party when everyone is slightly drunk thats probably the time the game is at its best.

I had a coworker who told me he was getting this game and hyped it up so I got it and the next day asked him did he get it and was like “naaaah man I heard it sucked” I was so pissed but I enjoyed some moments in this game
People made it seem like it is the worst anime game of All Time which is certainly not the case.

This game is still widely available in stores near me... my gamestop has a ton of copies... my Wal-Mart has new copies for like $10... so the not available in stores doesn't seem accurate

This game had a lot of potential. The gameplay isn't bad and I actually have a decent amount of fun playing it against my friends. But it's not perfect and in some ways, leaves a lot to be desired. The visuals are just… bad. If the game had even a fraction of the visuals of what we've seen from the recent Budokai Tenkaichi teaser, it would've been 1000% better than what we got. I'm not gonna pretend a game like this could've had an amazing story, but almost anything could've been better than what we got. It needed more time to polish animations, fix the bugs and glitches, and much more. Also, the create a character is cool, but by the time this game came out, it felt played out so I would've personally not included it.
Also, fun fact for people who don't know, before Bleach came back with it's anime adaptation of the Thousand Year Blood War arc, this was actually the first time we saw Ichigo, Rukia, and Renji from the war arc, outside of the manga. So the stuff you seem them do in the game, hadn't even been adapted yet for people who only saw the anime. And if you didn't know that, that was a huge freaking deal!
Idk if you tried J Stars Victory + but this game is basically a "better" version of that game, I personally like J stars better for the art style. You should try it out, would make a good video.

i liked jumpforce. mainly for the story mode and character customization. it felt really good making a character that looked like me, and having my chatacter interact with everybody from shonen jump.
as far as the dlc goes i was disappointed in the end. i don't like paying for dlc in the 1st place, but if i had to i really wanted other characters to be in the game. yoh asakura, bobobo bo bo bobo, even that anime character stan lee made for shonen jump called ultimo.
i remember the trailer for this game and when they showed light and ryuk i really thought they were gonna let us play as them. i don't know how it would work, but i was disappointed that they didn't. lol
The reason you can see ryuk is because your character in the game technically died. My second theory is that the onyx books are death notes. Since your character has one of the cubes made from the onyx books that could be another reason you can see ryuk.
My theory is that the character from the game is from the real world, and people from the real world who read/watch death note can see Ryuk so there's no reason why player character can't see him... its a pretty meta explanation but the games goes pretty meta in the finals 10-15 minutes 😂
I used to play this game all the time with my buddy. Good memories, too bad the game didn’t turn out better
The thing I didn't like was the customizations. I wanted my character to have SOME original designs, I wanted to look like a badass that the main 3 needed help from, not madara from universe 313.
I got it today and started playing with my brother and man I really love the game so far
The loading time really takes a lot out of the excitement since it loads cinematic to fights and back to cinematic. Then reloading the same amount of time when you're picking rematch.
I think another big thing missing from the game is selectable/changeable iconic moves and outfits for the actual roster and not just the playable character. Like let me play different versions of characters with different moves (I.E. Ninja Storm)
Jump force is one of those games that had so much potential
You should play One Piece Burning Blood, it's so fun I still play it with my friends all the time. I pray every day for it to get a sequel!!
if you're desperate pirated versions of this game work fine and the mods that go with it haven't caused me many problems yet, like any pirate it's the download I used came with some caveats, just a 3rd party downloader to make it go faster and transfer without corrupting, but regardless of any firmware I may have overlooked it has no kinks
(no online is tough but lets be honest, no one had fun online anyway)
Gameplay does feel clunky too forsure but compared to some 3D fighting games it has a decent skill gap with secret and discoverable tech all be it alot of assist tech but combos would be insane if not for the combo limit

I got this for my veteran friend who’s a huge anime/video game fan. I though it was the best of both worlds and right up our alley, so I got it for him for Christmas one year. He booted it up and I almost died of embarrassment 😅

Why they shit down the game Is a compl mystery to me. It was a sinple game where all you had to do was update the characters and update the way character’s fight and also add elements with effects on characters. Buffs and debuffs.
Watching ur video while I redownload it waiting on one piece season 2 got me ready to play please lets get this game back up

I believe another issue this game has and why they delisted the fans was for licensing issues. They have to keep relicensing shonen to keep the game up on stores.

thats why i try to resist the "all digital era", preservation will allways have its role with games. even bad games get resurrected in the community. though i wouldn't be surprised if they delisted the game because a jumpforce 2 is on the way
Legit I went back and got all the online trophies before the online servers shutdown. And I have all the dlc on PS4 and PC luckily before they got pulled. Ngl I thought it was fun playing with friends but everything else was kinda lacking.

J stars is awesome the story is so fun and actually has cool characters interacting. The combat still holds up pretty fun too.

I got this game as a gift for Christmas 2019, and then got both of the fighter passes on PS4, and then I bought the game and all its DLC on PC, so I'm good.
Anyways, Hyoga, Shun and/or Ikki should've been in the game along with Kinnikuman and Joseph Joestar.
Other than that, the low budget story mode, and the uncanny artstyle, I don't mind this game. It's one of those fun couch multiplayer games.
The JoJo characters looked so good in motion and were the only reason I played as much as I did. 💀

We need a game with this type of roster but in the style of fighterz. 3v3 more traditional 2d game like fighterz with this roster would go crazy. But I’m being rather bias cus I’ve been wanting a traditional 2d one piece fighting game for awhile, I think you could do so much with that and one piece has a wild roster of characters that would work great in a competitive fighting game format
I think the game was delisted due to licensing issues cause the next jojo game would soon come out in 2022, (and jojos is a series known for being a licensing nightmare due to holding so many) regardless, the game financially still did well for Bandai despite its infamous reputation online

I have learned to be cautious of reviews when it comes to fighting games because reviewers are like "The online sucks so 1/10" but then a person like me who honestly cannot be bothered about the online features sees the scores and be like "okay I guess the game sucks?"
I got this game on switch just before it was shutdown forever on a massive discount. Booted it up, saw the laggy intro and figured, "oh this is what the reviewers are upset about", put it down and for 2 years never touched it again. I played some J-Stars recently which got me thinking of Jump Force again so I re-downloaded it, got past the laggy intro and good lord what an amazing game. Still playing it now and absolutely loving it.
Had a lot of dumb fun with this game and enjoyed getting the 100% completion (for the most part). Those S Ranks were a real pain at times tho.
Don't get me wrong, i loved the cross overs, i loved the graphics, the storyline not so, but what i really dislike about it is how repetitive the missions could get like i swear i fell asleep while playing, i had to switch to a different game after that

Jump Force was one of those games I almost pulled the trigger on at launch. I'm so glad I waited to see what their plans were. As soon as I saw that they weren't going to dub it, it set off red flags. Then, there were the server issues being reported. It was a flop from the get-go.
The game sold incredibly well (I'm not even joking, just look at the sales on google) it was delisted because of Dragon Quest Dai or Yugi and license right. These 2 mangas are not only Shueisha's property but also respectively Square Enix and Konami. So Bandai probably had to deal with a bigger and expensive contract in order to put Dai and Yugi/Kaiba in this game. This is the reason why the previous game (J-stars) is still avalaible despite having FAR less sales and popularity.
I still think the gameplay is far better than most of the 3D arena fighters, while I agree with you on the fact that it encourages cheese instead of skill, if you have played with good players (and I mean people who are still playing since 2019), you will see what is so good about the gameplay mechanics. A lot of things are not written in the tutorial, a lot of "combos" and synergy are only possible if you spent a lot of time in the training mode. Spamming super and square is only a beginner thing, this game is more about your position on the map (in order to dash or jump to dodge an attack) and mixes-up your opponent with light attack, heavys, down/up tilt, grab, supers to trick your opponent + other tech that the game doesn't tells you. Even escaping combo's ask the players to be good at timing and how/when to use efficiently stamina's bar. Without stamina you can't dash, escape, counter attack and you have only one "permutation/escape" before it get consummed.
PS : I hate the story mode and the Art direction of the game...
To be honest, the only thing that made me not want to play this, was that Gintoki Sakata was not in the roster.
I wanted to come out with a season pass called gag force with the jump x'd out and they would be wearing jackets of and gintoki would be wear shades grinning.

There's no way now, I have every character in my PS4 and my Switch Version, but I couldn't get all the characters for my Xbox version, so now my Xbox version is forever missing Character Pass 2 characters.

I've never had combo issues in Jump force. If you go from light to heavy then super it's cake
I think a more accurate title for this game would be “ONE PIECE: a Jump Force adventure.” because it’s very One Piece focused. Like the developers knew more about that series more then the others.
