oh my sweet summer child. today on a trail a young woman that was probably lighter than my e-bike looked me in the eyes and kept walking right at me riding at 30kmh into her. wonder what freehub could move her away...
If neon bike clothing wasn't enough here's another way to annoy everyone around you. Don't forget the gopro, drone and the guy holding the camera. Christ..just go ride. Oh almost forgot make sure to charge up dont want those batteries running out on the uphill.
@@vladimiripotzky5392 Calling something dangerous without explaining why it's dangerous doesn't magically make it dangerous! And even then the explanation may have no merit or logic. So again I ask, how is it dangerous?

I don't get why loud hubs are so popular. From a physics perspective, that sound is coming from somewhere. It HAS to right? Which means energy is being taken away from your ride and being put into making this sound. Also a sound indicates contact between two parts. This means more wear at those contact points. Now the energy loss and wear might be minimal, but its still there, and not something I like. I do wonder how much of a difference these factors actually matter and a long term test between a quiet and loud hub would be nice. But im still always gonna stick with a quiet hub. I love being a silent billet, even if it is a little more dangerous. I have a bell and voice. Clueless will always be clueless regardless if you have a loud hub or not.

None of these ....the near silence of Shimano's freehubs is music to my ears. I can get those to be almost silent. You will never know if I stopped pedaling. But the again I haven put cards in my spokes since I was nine years old.
That is freaking awful! What on earth is wrong with you people? Take a perfectly nice bicycle and make it sound like crap! Onyx Vesper all the way! Plus I will out coast any of you on a long downhill.
That noise isn't the hub or freehub bearings, but the pawls, which usually call for oil, not grease. Grease is probably noisier but stickier and not good in colder weather.
The noise is basically the sound of a metal spring hitting the teeth inside the hub. Thinner lubricants let the springs move quickly and resonate more freely, creating noise similar to how a bell creates noise when struck. This particular sound has nothing to do with friction, even though most bicycle noises are friction-related.
Hope is the best sealed and the most reliable in my opinion. No horrible drive-ring to remove like a dt Swiss, no terrible bearing and pawl life like the i9, and not shite like any shimano hub in existence.
I get the advantage of a noisy freehub on MTB trails to warn others up ahead, but how often do you coast on them? On road bikes though it's just annoying and a way of showing off.
DT Swiss 350 ✌🏼
Angle Grinder...🤐
Dang! That mavic looked like you wouldn't need brakes.
😂😂😂
Freehub drag is a non issue. You are pedalling 99% of the time. You only stop pedalling when you want to stop.
@@jimmyhor78guess you've never gone downhill

He made no effort to spin that mavic. Sounds much better than he made it out to be.
I seriously don’t know how other cyclists deal with the sound of a swarm of bees chasing them. I need silence when coasting.
It’s great for MTB. Let’s other riders and hikers know that you are close.
I'm with you. I would live for some quiet hub options. I couldn't care less about all the racket

DT Swiss 350 and Zipp 303 Firecrest
Cannondale sounds like a hub in bikes from 90's.
I only realised recently on a group ride how seriously annoying loud freehubs are. Much prefer mine which are practically silent
The louder the better, if you been on a trail and people walking ahead of you, they know you coming and move. Better then a stupid bell lol 😂
Works every time! 😂
Bells are not aero
Hydra then

The one that makes no sound. Every cyclist need a quiet bike.

No sound is the best sound. These loud hubs are annoying
So annoying is especially on group riders also many individuals riders shows plenty of inferiority!!
Its crazy how little I think about how my bike "sounds"
Cyclists are such a tragically bored species
No sound is better why such noise does it make you better on the bike my fulcrum racing carbon with ceramic bearings runs smooth in silence
My Campy rears are almost silent.
quality is not noisy. except for NASA
Bontrager and DT swiss are the Bosses
Gangster Rock Sound i love it ! 🤟😂🕶️
Wow I never realized how blessed I am to ride bmx. Our hubs sound so much better than this shit. 😂
Is this something I can upgrade for my bike ? I have a Marin bobcat trail 4

just grease the freehub and it will be almost without noise
I was waiting if Onyx hubs was in this video.
Hope 5 Pro, and Chris King have the best sound
Shimano 600 almost silent
Too loud. Can I please get a quiet hub?
Sounds like my voice when I wake up

The more silent the hub, the less friction. The less friction, the faster you roll.
That's not true.
Oil lubrication will be loud, more efficient and not last long.
Grease lubrication will be quiet, less efficient and last longer.
