  • Steam locomotives working trains of spoil and coal around Wulong mine, Fuxin. The footage was taken on a winter morning over a 2 hour period with SY 2-8-2's #1359 and #1320 putting on a wonderful show of industrial steam. Fuxin's SY steam locomotives retired some 18 months later in 2016.

      @@kuanliangshao5997 Oh nice. I don't have a record of 0885, but 1714 was Tongling locomotive factory in Anhui (from 1998)

      @@petesworldrailwayvideos yes! I am from Tongling loco factory. Sy 0885 was built in Tangshan. Actually SY1714 was built in Tongling, but its parts were all shipped from Tangshan while the Tongling factory was only responsible for assembling.
      We actually had three locomotives in total, the other one is KD7-656, built by America in 1946 and donated to China (KMT government) the same year as part of the post-war reconstruction program. Retired at around 2008, really the workhorse in our factory, performed much better the the SY series. This history was masked for ideology reasons, even my father didn’t know it as they were told that the KD7 was donated from the Soviet Union.

    Do you know the maximum speed of this steam train?

    • @petesworldrailwayvideos
      @petesworldrailwayvideos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The SY class have a maximum rated speed of 80kph. I'm unsure of local speed restriction on this particular railway, but I would assume not more than 50kph.
