Joshua Tree is what made them big, but Achtung Baby (you've heard One from that one) is outstanding. It's dark, moody and absolutely amazing! Every song a masterpiece. You must hear it.
Once you get JT and a song or two more from Achtung Baby, you MUST watch a ZooTV performance.
U2 cannot be beat live. I've seen them and hear it over and over again.
They are so very much better live. Their front man has a natural charisma and desire to connect with their audience.
It's electrifying to watch them live.. And ZooTV is a concert people would give up every other concert they've ever seen to have seen that on. Regarding them not doing the big bombastic songs or guitar solos, no they aren't that kind of band, but they have some rockers for sure! They are known as an arena rock band, post punk too at times. Love Is Blindness from AB has a killer guitar solo. If you're going to do the rest of Joshua Tree, all but one song on there is this type, just so you know. You have to listen to Achtung Baby to get something completely different. Just remember how you felt about One and imagine it turned up to 10 with songs like Zoo Station and more. Trust me, you will not regret it!
    ;)

Their lyrics are what drive their popularity... What is sad is so many just look for a straight and narrow meaning and miss so much of what makes U2 truly inspiring...

For a more rocking changeup check out U2's New Years Day. For a funkier sound check out Pride (In the Name of Love) and for a dance cut check out Night and Day. Others to react to: Vertigo, Zoo Station, Ultraviolet (Light My Way), The Fly, Discotheque, So Cruel, Every Breaking Wave, California, I can go on and on!

Really happy to see you're enjoying U2, they tend to get ripped on for the Apple fiasco but they're a talented band with some incredible tunes. If you're looking to see the range of stuff they can do, try some of their harder, earlier tracks like SUNDAY, BLOODY SUNDAY, and NEW YEAR'S DAY. You've covered tracks from Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum, but some of their later tracks shows the different genres they've embraced: MYSTERIOUS WAYS, THE FLY, VERTIGO.

I'm guessing you're not doing the videos cause they'll get blocked if you don't pause at least once Just saying though, all 80's and early 90's music have videos because of MTV..back when they actually played music videos 24/7. A bands video was nearly as important as the song itself at one time !!

I mentioned this in a comment on another video, but just to make sure...
There are 11 tracks on The Joshua Tree. Anything beyond that is supplemental stuff they've added to "box sets" or whatever over the years. WHICH IS GREAT... but if you want to react to The Joshua Tree... go on the ride we all went on in 1987, just look up what the original track list and listen to those 11.
And when you do, keep in mind, they came out of the gate with With Or Without You. That was the first single. And it was GREAT! Then the album was released. And we bought it. And took it home...
...and experienced Where the Streets Have No Name!!! And, of course, everything that followed it! But MY GOD! What an opener!!! (Speaking of tracks that blow you away!)
    Yes! Do the album!

Sometimes something as simple as a warn air breeze and a happy moment can give you the same as this song. I might and will probably be made into something I am not because i speak out.
I appreciate you listening to this music. I would appreciate if you donated some time to understand how music came to all of us over the many and yes, many centuries.
Love and respect is speacial and it is more than what we give each other face to face. History matters but it is up to each and every one of us to know things if or when it isn't given to us. Being honest, nothing is ever given to us whithout a purpose.
    just sayin'.
    It is what it is.

Hahaha...I actually disagree...Edge is responsible for some of the most dynamic, unforgettable and original sounds in the guitar world. I don't know any higher compliment for a musician than to have a catalogue of performance like The Edge has behind him. (added for context, my second favorite guitarist for the same reasons is Lindsey Buckingham. My third is Blixa Bargeld...who does nothing else but makes a guitar go 'Kkkrraanngggg!!! with his bare fingers like no one else. Hahaha!
