- In this video I unbiox and demo a really cool new guitar (to me) which is the Tommy Thayer electric blue Epiphone Les Paul. This guitar is gorgeous! It has some great features including Grover tuners and Seymour Duncan JB pickups. It plays and sounds fantastic. I hope you enjoy the video!

That blue sparkle finish is absolutely gorgeous and the blue SD in the bridge really sets it off nicely.

Love that finish Epi Les Paul's are great players I've got a yellow burst standard I put a tusq nut and a tone pros bridge I love that thing it's my Zeppelin Paul 🤘👍

The Ace/Kiss seperation was both sides fault. That was never going to work. So I am completely OK with Tommy Thayer stepping in. You are correct if it wasn't Tommy, it would have been someone else. And Tommy stuck around and made it his own as best he could.

I'm not crazy about the guitars looks. The blue I'm ok with. Not so much the sparkle. But, I prefer pickups that match. Even if it's like the Zebra style that neck is reversed from the bridge. But, great sound. You should do a few kiss covers. The licks sounded great. I have 3 Epiphones. I think they are ok. Maybe not Gibson Les Pauls but, mine seem to sound pretty good. My first Epiphone Les Paul Classic....I never had good sound out of it. Partly because the amp I had. But. When I got the amp...It sounded good in the store... something must have happened going through the doorway lol. So I ended up getting The Tone Mans Les Paul up grade pre wired pots dropped that in and put a pickup in the bridge. Cant even remeber which one I want to say Seymour Duncan Sh4. Had it set up and now sounds great. I have big fingers and at times struggle to play it. So I never spent the money for a Gibson. But, happy with the sound of my Epiphones. People knock them but, for the price you can beat it. Even if you upgrade. So if you never tried one ...try it at a guitar store. You might be suprised. Especially with the models from about 2015 and up.

Man that's a nice guitar I've got a Epiphone and don't understand why a lot of people hate on them I know it's not a Gibson but they're the same company and Epiphone does make some hella nice guitars I was actually shocked when I got mine of course I had to get some work done on it but it wasn't because it was abused or mistreated it's just the PCB system really ain't worth the flip but I actually love it and there are a lot of other epiphones that I see I like

I’ve been procrastinating on this model for about 2 years now 🤔🤔 don’t need it but want it ! I’ve got an older Joe Perry Epiphone and a Bonamassa Pelham blue that both came with Gibson BB pickups. Are they like my Gibsons ? No, but pretty darn close ! Didn’t ever think I’d be an Epiphone Les Paul collector but now I think that I “have” to add this one 🤓
I say go for it man. I think these things will be collectible one day. And they are really nice.
The headstock shape of the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson reminds me of the Rolling Stones "Sticky Fingers" mouth logo, more than the Gibson "open book" headstock shape. But who cares when you have a guitar like this with this much bling !!!

I have the same guitar, it's one of my favourite, im surprised they're not more popular really, im in UK and have only seen mine over here
Also I find the sparkle pops a lot more under artificial light, the flakes go rainbow colours whereas in daylight they look more silver, try using a phone torch on it at night

Be nice to it! Those Epi necks don't seem to be as sturdy as a USA made one and of course they can beak too. It seems the wood in the Epi's isn't as good or maybe the hard finish shows cracks easier. I have a couple of Epi SG's with finish cracks at the nut.
Hope mine doesn't have any issues. I think this one has mahogany neck and body. Hopefully a nice slab was chosen. Lol
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker Being a painted one they probably used a 2 or 3 piece body. From the ones I have had if there is going to be a problem showing up its probably going to be the neck near the nut or the fret board to neck bond. Not nearly as strong as maple. Quartersawn Maple with carbon rods would be nice. But you know who does that. Be careful where you leave it between sets.They don't like being knocked over. I had a Epi SG that broke at the body to neck joint. Easy fix but it was shocking how little wood there is behind that top pickup and the neck joint. Asian Mahogany likes to split. The hard finish is almost a reinforcement in a way. Show it a little extra care and it should be fine.
Marty get's a Tommy Thayer guitar and proceeds to rail ACE FREHLEY on it, with the exception of Lick it up, VV. Ace Frehley, Tommys guitar.
To be fair, Tommy Thayer plays his fair share of Ace songs. Kinda why people know who he is.

Ace left for some real good reasons. Control was not part of his deal. He was being controlled by 2 people that wanted it only there way, and if not, the door swung in 1 direction. Ace had plenty to offer the band as in all his talent. The other 2 decided it was not good enough for them and there bank account. The Kulick Brothers proved a point as well. Tommy was always in the background waiting for his chance, then he got his chance. He always wanted to be Ace, but there is only is 1 Ace. The real people that listened to Kiss, know that Ace cannot be replaced by anyone. When he left, I left.
@@standingvertical3048 Yeah Gene and Paul have themselves a cover band. Kiss for me has always been Gene, Paul, Ace, and Peter. Watching them as a unit back in the 70s, they had something incredibly special. It’s a shame money and fame tore it apart.

Check this guy out>>> { Eastern Suburbs School of Music } He does some real handy work of Ace. No one does it better in my opinion but Ace. You learn from this guy, and you can say you can play Ace, but your not Ace. lol

did it come decently set up. im 15 and i think im gonna get it for cristhmas. but ím just beginning to understand how to setup guitars and dont have money to get a professional to set it up. it would be nice for it to play good out of the box
Yes! It was perfect out of the case. I think Epiphone really focuses a great deal on ensure big these higher end models are set up well. (At least that's my impression). Hope yours is awesome too!
Congrats! Ya scab. haha Just kidding. 🤣🤣🤣 Looks and sounds like a quality guitar for the money. Personally, I would put a chrome cover over that blue Duncan and swap out the blue volume/tone knobs for chrome cap knobs.

Ive just got one, I think the mirror pickguard is vile, Ive ordered clear knobs, clear pickguard and clear backplates I think its going to look better, great demo!
