    I have 4 Epiphone guitars
    A new JJN gold Glory
    A recent casino
    A Wayne Static signature v
    And a 1994 Joe Pass
All nice guitars ,my main gripe with all the epiphones is the same gripe the poly is too thick and you can really tell at the binding and neck body contact points, outside of that there all for the really you do get your dollar's worth, the more expensive Epiphone are excellent the lower price still decent if you don't mind modding upgrades, the cheapest ones are still more playable and functional than other brands even at the worst.
The JJN signature models sound amazing and I use mine as a stunt double backup for my Gibson r54 and Gibson SG Jr

The Crestwood deserves to be at least B tier. I'd put it A tier. The look is very different, but the thing kills. I just bought one, and it has taken the #1 spot for me in live shows over my USA Les Paul standard, my Midtown, my '96 Strat...the pickups sound fantastic, the playability is really nice, the tremolo holds tune well, and it's lightweight so my back doesn't hurt after running around and jumping for a 4hr show

    • @Junkiescum
      @Junkiescum 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Straight up dude! I felt the same way about the coronet, these things are perfectly made and sound amazing. The lightness shouldn’t be overlooked, it’s light as a feather so you could play it all day and your shoulder/back wouldn’t feel a thing. Easy A tier for anyone who owns one.

@@Junkiescum I got mine at a Guitar Center in Myrtle Beach. I went in and picked up a $3k Music Man. It was great but didn't do it for me. Played a $1900 Deusenberg, and it was awesome, too. Total badass. Then I played a $1600 Strat that was meh. On a whim on the way out I grabbed the Crestwood, and it wasn't just a better bargain for the money than the others...it was straight up better than the other guitars. The only mod I made was to move the strap pin to the horn to fix the neck dive

Nice list you got there^^ I started playing on Epiphones ~10 years ago with an SG Custom Prophecy EX (Ebony fretboard, EMG81/85, Mahogany body, Tune-O-Matic bridge) for ~350€. Even though the guitar has a bit of neck dive, it still plays amazing and I still come back to it from time to time. A few years later I got myself a Les Paul Custom Prophecy Plus (EMG81/85, purple finish, Mahogany body, Rosewood fretboard -> at first I thought it was Ebony since it was so dark; and it has a production error, where 1 of the 4 nobs is blue instead of purple -> I don't see it as an error, it makes it look just a tad bit more unique :D ). This is my main guitar to this day and considering that it only cost me 550€ (including the case) that was one heck of a grab :D

Your sense of aesthetics is C-tier honestly. One can tell that you like modern rock and metal with most of your choices. The Coronet/Crestwood/Wilshire guitars are beautiful and sound fantastic. Also the logo on those guitars is so aesthetically pleasing. Les Paul’s are never more than B-tier when it comes to the appearance. I can’t stand the sunburst LP’s and worst of all, the ones with ”modern” color schemes.

Beautiful blue quilt and the satin neck was comfortable, but I never saw one with an ebony fingerboard either…. just the rosewood. And the real abalone and mother of pearl inlays were very cool. That it ended up in B tier, confirms letting it go @ very close to what I paid for it in 2013. It was hefty at just an oz under 9 lbs and almost always in tune every time I picked it up, thanks to the Grovers and graphite nut. Solid Epi LP for the money.

I saw a sno-fall on Facebook marketplace and fell in love because of the white fretboard.
(I've got two ibanez dt250s with red fretboards and have always thought the color matched fretboards were super rad)
I was a little late to the party so they weren't available new any more...
I ended up with a snow falcon, I snagged mine from zzsounds on sale for $599. and I'm pretty sure it was the last new one anyone had in stock anywhere.
I wasn't a fan of the neck, it was a little thicker than most of my other guitars so I played it for less than 10 minutes, put a set of white DR strings on it and tucked it away in the in an epiphone V hard case to keep it safe. The matching white soft case, C.O.A. and paperwork are also tucked away & I've been watching the values increase ever since.
Strangely enough, I also have an Explorer GT which I got for under $150. on ebay that's a little more comfortable and easier to justify modding at that price range so I threw a set of neon green Dragonfire "Power Rails" in it.
Was never a big Gibson or Epiphone fan but they're growing on me.

    Seth Lover pafs
    And switchcraft selector and jack
Also I drilled the bridge pins out and set stainless 6mm bolts almost all the way though the body to hold the bridge
    This thing sustains forever
but…I had a 1994 Gibson LP standard loved it the most but lost it in a fire

I can agree that the Zakk Wyle LP Custom should have come with an ebony fretboard. Other than that, it's basically the holy grail of Epiphones. IMO

Also try an 89 or 90 Epiphone Korean made Les Paul Standard. Long neck tenon and 490 x 498 pups.Probably has a plastic nut though unless it was upgraded. they came stock this way and they also have the Gibson open book headstock.

The whole video I was waiting, staring at that Steinberger LP, waiting for it to end up in D tier.
    I was not disappointed.
The one I had was JUNK, and that was even after I precariously fixed the bent bridge post issue. The pickups sound like a budget hotel ice machine, and the fit and finish was similar to a Soviet era sedan.

Sick video and gives me some slight regret that i didn't pick up a few models over the years..! but the pronunciation of Budokan as Boo-dohkan... oh no Agufish hahaha!

I’d put the Gallagher signature in S tier, for similar reasons to the Tom Delonge.
It’s an iconic guitar for a lot of people, that was used by its rightful owner to make the soundtrack to many people’s lives.

Great video, I just wish you would’ve included the 1956 gold top reissues from 2005, they were fantastic guitars and mine’s still my number one to this day. Something about the Epiphones from the Korean plant just make them feel like they’re higher quality

didn't play the slash LP special II because I never cared for GnR or slash in general but the LP special 2 i've had for 15 years is still one of my favorite guitars to play.

I have the 50s and 60s inspired by and love them. It's hard for me to grasp why people don't like the pickups but I don't really have any personal experience with better for comparison and I hear nothing above 5k! Awesome video.

The Epi wino has not Probuckers pickups, has an al Alnico Classic pro and a 98T. The neck profile is slimmer than a normal Epi Custom. Is a very good custom
