I agree. I support Seattle and I can’t wait for this competition. It’s any non European clubs only chance of playing a big side in a competitive match. Additionally it provides much needed money, giving 50 million euros to all qualified teams.
@@Sea0070 yeah, this is also something people seem to ignore when talking about the CWC. The money is already kinda good for european sides, but for everyone else, it's HUGE. Imagine for african sides then??
For Europeans this won't be that much exciting, but for the rest of the world this should be great tournament. For the first time a lot of best teams from other continents have opportunity to play against best European teams. Fans of those teams should be excited for this.

@@timopint1125 I don’t know about the rest of Europe, but in the UK a lot of this can be attributed to the fact that it’s now shown on TNT Sports, which most people don’t have. Previously it was on terrestrial TV and then it moved to Sky, which most people have anyway. Nowadays it takes a £20 monthly subscription to watch it, so viewership will naturally drop. Of course it’s arguable that it’s also down to football fatigue, there’s just so much football on TV these days. Must be about 20 games on TV every week, and that’s without CL etc.

come on Zealand, this whole "I don't care about the Club World Cup" is such an European-wannabe attitude. It's trying to be a big thing in the world of football, and FIFA is trying to make it the best club competition, so of course he's gonna be talking about it.
Obviously it’s completely for money but anyone who supports a club not in Europe should like this tournament. I support Seattle and these will be the three highest matches we will probably ever play.
I agree This format just looks a lot more fun. If Philadelphia could stop choking in big competitions, we would've been here and I'd be very invested in seeing how they really stack against the best in the world.
The weird thing is that CWC is still being held every year, just has a different name and an even worse format that favours european teams by making every other team play a knockout stage to get to the final while they are already qualified (as if they needed any help getting there)
I dont understand why you dont like this. Im excited to see Mexican and American clubs get a chance against big teams in a real tournament. Great exposure for players outside of Europe.
You know, I like this channel and follow it more than I should, but every time zealand talks about the club world cup its just jarring. Anywhere other than the richest clubs in europe, the supporters will care about this. There will be passion involved and it is just mind boggling to expect that a match like Pachuca x RB salzburg or Wydad x Juventus will be bad or that there will be no passion. There are much worse matches in the actual stupid champions league. Only that the dozen or so clubs that are at the top of the incredibly warped pyramid of economic disparity see no point. If anything thats more reason to watch, I cant fucking wait to see Urawa Reds, Wydad, Pachuca or any of them shut up some euro elitists. Now is it a shameless stupid moneygrab and a power play that has way more matches than it should? Yes. Thats most all competitions these days you see. This is a symptom. Edit: well I guess this does drive engagement though in hindsight

I agree the qualification is dumb, but I like how it gives visibility to clubs outside europe. In an ideal world, money from a competition like this could help reduce european financial domination in football
Well the prize money is crazy. 50 mil for participating, 100 mil total (?) for winning it. For half of participants this is club changing money just for being there and even the top clubs won't mind the extra 50-100 in the coffers. Fairly sure majority of the clubs will treat this pretty seriously.
I am in the minority here I know, but UEFA competing with FIFA is rubbish and actually the bigger cause in all of the talk around player welfare. The Club World Cup for all extensive purposes, should be THE champions league. The conversation should always be about global equity and not about making the best continent the most superior. More to this point, and my biggest gripe is that it is ironic that for so many people in Europe and the UK in particular who pride themselves on supporting your local, kick up a fuss when global football actually wants to do that and make a real champions league.
@@Swedishpolymath I am from Australia my guy and I love football more than anything. Yeah it’s a serious comment. The fact of the matter is football is a global game, and in certain areas it is essentially monopolised by the European elite.

I'm excited about it because I'm a Seattle Sounders fan and I'll have the opportunity to see my team play against 2 UEFA greats and the current Copa Libertadores holder. Yes, Seattle will lose all three matches, but they're there.
A guy said it on Twitter and I completely agree: it's like when you and your friends have a FIFA or PES tournament with a bunch of different teams, but this time it's something real and big. It may not be for Europeans, but for us, from South America, it will be a lot of fun to see our times challenging Europeans and clubs from other continents, such as Al-Ahly, Al-Hilal, Mamelodi, Monterrey. I'm a Fluminense fan. We had a terrible season, we are close to being relegated and yesterday we had difficulty beating the worst team in the league table. And even so, the fans were confident that the team would be able to beat Dortmund (and we know it's practically impossible). It's incoherent, crazy and absolute nonsense. But that's football and we will be there.
I get why fans of European clubs, or even the clubs themselves don't care. They can bring their B or C teams and still win. But this is a bigger deal for the teams in other confederations. As a fan of a Mexican team being in this tournament, I'm super excited. Even if we get rocked and lose, it helps them out economically and gives valuable experience. I personally liked the previous version bc it was short and sweet but I'm willing to see this one out...
Just want to point out that up to 2013 CONMEBOL and UEFA were tied in titles counting CWC and Intercontinental Cup. The European football supremacy is more recent than a lot of people think it is
Maybe it's just me but I am lowkey excited to see so many teams from different continents playing each other especially being from a continent that's not at the top echelon of club football. I get to actually see and support a club from here play against European Giants. Not caring about such prospect seems oddly classist.
@@haroldsimarmsta750 Europe isn't the entire world, football is played and has fans all over the world so as I said not giving importance to it does come off classist. Super long answer: I'll give you a different take. I'm South American, and I'm the first to admit there will be bias. This Club World Cup is my childhood dream coming true, and I’m not exaggerating. I've dreamed about a tournament with this exact format since I was a kid (so over 20 years now) and see it come to fruition is just a surreal feeling. Even more given the fact that my club is participating, wich was just not a possible scenario when I dreamt about it as a kid 😅 I was super frustrated when the 2021 China edition of it fell through due to Covid and happy FIFA persisted on this one. I should also add I’m the type of dude that gets excited to watch Al Ain v Auckland City playing in the old yearly format (wich is now called Intercontinental Cup and will still happen!) That being said: I agree it's just FIFA wanting to have the biggest club competition, and I understand the politics behind it all. I'm just excited as hell, even considering that. And a point I make and haven't seen anybody talk about: yes, the calendar is already full, and its problematic (here in Brazil way more than in Europe, to be fair). But they’ve added ONE game from what the calendar had for the top teams up until 2017! This is taking place when we had the Confederations Cup, but it's 2 extra games (7 v 5) if you make it to the final. Thing is, they've removed the semi-final for the European club on the Intercontinental Cup (yearly CWC format), so that adds up to just one extra game if a player succeeds in every competition - from the fomat we had for about 15 years. Does not look that problematic for me in that sense
FIFA wants to crown a world champion and this tourney has a lot of potential to grow. When the hype starts to happen one month out you’ll get excited for it. There will be upsets in the group stage, don’t sleep on the top teams in Asia and Africa! Would be crazy if Man City and Real Madrid met in the round of 16. How are you not excited to see these unique matchups? The issue is teams that qualified 4 years ago aren’t in the same form when they qualified but they earned their spot here, but teams that did well in their latest champions league will be the favorites here imo.
What's unique about Man City playing Real Madrid? We can get that in the Champions League already. If the European sides send their actual first teams, its just going to be one of them winning it. Which means its just a repeat of the Champions League. And if they send weakened sides, then the whole thing is even more pointless. Fifa can keep trying to make the CWC a thing, but at the end of the day, teams in Europe just do not care about it.
There was a seeding thing that disallowed us from meeting Real Madrid at least until the Semi Finals (assuming we both top our groups which we should) and because of how they're doing the RO16 sides, we wouldn't meet until the Final IF we both top our groups.
@@StewartForsyth They won't send them, Rodri has stated FIFPRO will strike for the tournament, Alphonso Davies will not be playing for Bayern but for Canada at the Gold Cup instead.
Al Ahly, Botafogo, Sounders & Monterrey will cause upsets and people will start liking it. Its ths same with the new format for the UCL, people are hust afraid of change. There is zero consensus on making the CWC better in an alternative way, in fact the people who hate the concept just want it gone completely to *their* liking and the rest of the world's expense. The football world is already Eurocentric and the CWC only moves it a few inches from that yet there is a ton of backlash. At what point do we get to hear why leagues, domestic and continental cups in Europe get to have more games on a seasonal basis whilst the CWC is every four years and thus should ve criticised more for player health when in truth nobody actually cares or even asks the players how they feel about the competition?
i can see why its good for some clubs depending on how the money is distributed and how much they get , for example South Africa have been bad for awhile so maybe Sundowns can invest . other than that there really isnt much outside of intrigue, Will Fluminense tactic and style work against Dortmund? Have Saudi Arabia poached enough talent? can Messi still do it against elite opposition? When Flamengo played Liverpool a few years ago they were really solid and took them to 120 minutes and Liverpool looked more relieved than anything after they won. it will also be good for players from these countries too i guess because they can showcase their talents against top players
Champions league is just as bad. Same teams, swapping players and coachers every couple of seasons. Only thing to prove is which club has a worse sugar daddy.
1. I mostly see all the negativism from Europeans, with the rest of the world actually wanting it. As you get match-up like you never will see. A professional Giant European club play an amateur 'Giant' Oceanic club. Yes the score will be big, but a UFEA v OFC club match has NEVER happened, nor COMEBOL v OFC (has happened once but you get what I'm saying). 2. Auckland City as well as the other NZ Clubs, have signed the right for any prize money won to be paid to NZ Football. The money doesn't stay with NZF tho but gets distributed to all clubs in the National League that season (32 top teams), with different amounts if the club makes it out of the Regional Phase and into the Championship Phase then Grand Final. 3. I do not like how OFC only has 1 spot with the other confeds having 4 spots for the Champions League winners. Yes OFC amateur, and a Pro League around the corner (wont change a thing at all). But if 4 different clubs are champions and don't participate again and a club makes the semi finals4 times but losing the semi-final, they are most likely qualified rather than the winners due to the coeff. 4. Looking though most leagues around the world, there are only 2 club who are unable to participate in the tournament despite being Professional, Auckland FC and Wellington Phoenix, as they are ineligible to participate if AFC and OFC Champions League. There is a loop hole, maybe, because if they win the A-League the season when Australia hosts the tournament, they might get in due to the host country having a slot.
The only reason theres no negativity from the South Americans is because its being held in their mid season and not during their vacation like it is for european teams. Thats the only gripe Europeans have. If it was played during the European season maybe instead of the nations league, that would be great, but Europeans still wouldnt really care about it
@@joebaxi01 " its being held in their mid season " do you know that's worse right? that it will mess the entire calendar (calendar that's already chaotic)

Also, dont sleep on brazilian clubs, there are arguments to say that the brazilian league today is at the same level, if not better, than the fr*nch, today Botafogo would win a match against PSG!!
You know what makes it absolute bullshit above everything else? The fact that they have more than 1 team from each country. Participants should be the winners of their respective domestic leagues from the top ranked nations. If you automatically allowed teams from the top 16 nations in, you could have qualifiers for the other 16. Get the next 128 ranked nations, they all have a knockout tournament playing up to 4 games to decide which 16 of those 128 teams go to the cup.

6:16 bro what’s Zealand got against the 1930 and 1934 World Cups? Also why the heck are you creating a tournament to signify the so called Best Of The Best and including such nobodies, such sides have served no purpose like PSG (why the fuck are the French here? The French have won diddlysquat.), Borussia Dortmund (The Tottenham Hotspur of Germany.), Red Bull Salzburg (I swear they’ve performed worse in the Champions League then APOEL Nicosia of Cyprus.) and the goddamn cheats juve, a side who after that Aston Villa game deserves wholeheartedly to be taken out the back and Old Yeller’d, a side that’s won nothing without cheating. We already have Inter Milan, I’d have replaced those 4 sides with sides that have won the Champions League and who are from a different (or in PSG’s case same) country. Like replace Red Bull with Red Star, replace Juve and Dortmund (because Dortmund aren’t going to win jack this millennium) with Ajax and Celtic and replace PSG with Marseille. You have 4 sides there with a higher chance of winning than Dortmund (1% is higher than 0% bro.) and they’re from different countries so you can feed into the World Cup of it all. (Like the FIFA World Cup isn’t just Mexico, Mexico U21s, Mexico U19s, Mexico U17s, Spain, Spain U21s, Spain U19s, Spain U17s, England, England U21s, New Zealand and like Guinea.)
I went in skeptical and am now actually kind of interested. It’s stupid, yes, but as a fan of several clubs here (particularly Chelsea but also Flamengo, Boca, and Auckland City) it’s so cool to imagine what it’s like to see them play each other. Chelsea seldom gets the chance to play teams outside of Europe, so I find the prospect of a showdown with Flamengo insanely cool.
From a players' health perspective I hate this BUT because this is a proper way to establish a pecking order between teams and leagues from different continents I am, if not excited, interested in this tournament.

I hope the rest of the teams do something good so the Europeans can stop acting like we’re a joke not worth their time. I will be rooting against every Europea club. Unfortunately they’re kinda right though lol. Im hoping for miracles.
This is mostly how I read this: Everyone outside of Europe think that having more competition will level up their teams, and that's a good thing. Everyone from Europe (or with an European perspective) think that more competition will lever up everyone else's teams, and that's a bad thing. I wish we could go back in time when South American teams were able to go toes to toes with European teams. But well, now that I'm talking about UEFA hypocrisy. European people complaining about the Arab leagues buying their stars because that ruins their leagues. When that's EXACTLY what they do to ABSOLUTELY EVERY OTHER LEAGUE. I dunno, I'd love for any non European team to win this thing and humble UEFA that's pretty up their own aholes.
Zealand, I care. Only because I live in South Carolina and a bunch of these matches are a couple hours away. It’s cool. Still not sold on the concept of a 32-team event for many of the reasons you mentioned… but Bayern Munich playing across the state line from me is dope.
I just took a peek at the Serie A table. What in the (overcomplicated) name of Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is going on with Juventus being the only unbeaten team, yet they’re in 6th? The draws are killing them.
Glad to hear someone point out that you have to be a bit lucky and hope the cwc falls on a good year for you. Cwc 2020 would be great timing for Liverpool or Bayern, cwc 2023 would be for Madrid or man city
Let's see if that doesn't transfer the same problems of the UEFA Champions League to the world. Half the league can no longer keep up with the teams that regularly play in the Champions League because the prize money from the CL completely eclipses the money from the league. Teams that take part in this World Cup, most of which come from leagues with much weaker finances than the big European leagues, will be in a much better financial position than their domestic rivals afterwards and thus dominate the national league and make them more boring. As a German, i'm kind of scared when I think about Dortmund and especially Bayern Munich getting even ore money and what that means for the league, which has already lost a lot of its appeal witch RB, Hoffenheim and Bayern's years of dominance. There are reasons why we have debates here about whether the second division isn't much more attraktive. Last but not least, the players need time to rest.
They want to get a cut from the Champions League but the same clubs who usually win the Champions League will win the club worldcup as well so it doesn't really provide anything new...
Finally.. Those players, that didn't even sit on Chelsea bench ever since they came after signing 7-8 years contract.. have chance to play a game.. Finally..
I get why Europeans don’t like it but as a fan of LAFC I really wish we were there in group D playing Chelsea but instead we just got shit on by Leon in the final
Love the idea of the best teams from around the world playing meaningful (somewhat meaningful at least) competitive matches. But In practicality the rest of the world just isn’t on the same level as Europe. I guess the World Cup is similar as far as the disparity in level of play, but club teams don’t generate the same casual interest as national teams do. Frankly I don’t think hosting in the US where football is popular but not the number 1 sport was not a great idea. Some matches will sell out but some will be empty. At the end of the day RMA or Man City will win just like the UCL. The only difference is they face better competition to earn their wins in UCL.
The only point I do agree with ia how teams will be completely different in 4 years, especially the smaller ones. Fluminense won the Libertadores last season but in this one they just escaped relegation on the last day of the season.
I don’t want a club World Cup but I do wish there was a global champions league so we can see how quality the leagues around the world is. For example while the J league may not challenge the big 5 leagues I think it would compete well with clubs outside it. Similar we speculate how much quality MLS is and having a global champions league can compete with this. I think this would increase respect for leagues outside Europe where clubs from South America, North America, Africa and Asia can demonstrate to their quality and show they are underrated also allows them to elevate their standard as they can compete with the best of the best. Club World Cup will have to those leagues compete with the elite of European football and they most likely lose which leads to denigrating of clubs outside Europe I mean sure the best of clubs outside Europe are not as good as Real Madrid and Man City. However I rate those clubs to be competitive against let say teams like Celtic or Club Brugge etc
As a Bayern fan if we don’t win a trophy this season I will care but if we do I don’t care about this tournament but if we fail to win a trophy then we need one more chance for kane to win a trophy
I am glad they've changed it from the old proposed format which had 8 groups of 3 with 8 European qualifiers, one in each group. In FM23 I never saw a non-European team reach the quarters so it was just a budget Champions League. So boring.
MLS ruins the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup because they were tired of their clubs being embarrassed by lower tier clubs. Now they’re mad that Messi doesn’t win their championship so they beg fifa to allow Inter Miami into the Club World Cup. Does the guy who whacked the UHC CEO take requests?

I agree
This format just looks a lot more fun. If Philadelphia could stop choking in big competitions, we would've been here and I'd be very invested in seeing how they really stack against the best in the world.
The weird thing is that CWC is still being held every year, just has a different name and an even worse format that favours european teams by making every other team play a knockout stage to get to the final while they are already qualified (as if they needed any help getting there)
@@negli_of1c1al28 Which is the same format as previous editions
I dont understand why you dont like this. Im excited to see Mexican and American clubs get a chance against big teams in a real tournament. Great exposure for players outside of Europe.
Mexicans are the only people caring about mexican teams
Its a money grabbing attempt and it adds more games to clubs schedule
Agreed, family is Boca Jrs fans and the fans are extremely excited, even if they think they lose 10-0 to Bayern
be complains about alot of things just to complaing… like okay, if you don’t cate, don’t make a video…
tons of people like it so, all his points on it “copying” CL is it irrelevant to us
I agree the qualification is dumb, but I like how it gives visibility to clubs outside europe.
They should make a tournament where the prize is chocolate turtles
Alright idea honestly
Zealand would become a pro player just to win free CT!
The prize should be a pizza party
If you're a fan of one of the teams then you're looking forward to it
I am in the minority here I know, but UEFA competing with FIFA is rubbish and actually the bigger cause in all of the talk around player welfare.
Are you an American or European? Are you being sarcastic? Serious question by the way.
The last point specifically...yeah, pretty much this.
@@Swedishpolymath I am from Australia my guy and I love football more than anything.
Yeah it’s a serious comment. The fact of the matter is football is a global game, and in certain areas it is essentially monopolised by the European elite.
This is the most sensible comment about this topic that I have seen
@@MattOlsen294 I am shocked how nobody points out that the majority of the complaining comes from the Europeans who have an incentive to complain about the club world cup because hurts their ability to claim that they are the best.
I'm excited about it because I'm a Seattle Sounders fan and I'll have the opportunity to see my team play against 2 UEFA greats and the current Copa Libertadores holder. Yes, Seattle will lose all three matches, but they're there.
thats the kind of match I would love to watch more in football
this games and europe selection x rest of the world
Real Football fans who also actually call it Football and not ''sOcCeR'' always wanted and wished for a true club world cup
I garantee you that their B team cant win.
Just want to point out that up to 2013 CONMEBOL and UEFA were tied in titles counting CWC and Intercontinental Cup. The European football supremacy is more recent than a lot of people think it is
MAMELODI SUNDOWNS LETS GOOOO

Maybe it's just me but I am lowkey excited to see so many teams from different continents playing each other especially being from a continent that's not at the top echelon of club football. I get to actually see and support a club from here play against European Giants. Not caring about such prospect seems oddly classist.
If i am the manager of the European clubs and i have to play this tournament after the season ends i am playing the B team or the under 18s.
@@haroldsimarmsta750 Europe isn't the entire world, football is played and has fans all over the world so as I said not giving importance to it does come off classist. Other than that scheduling overload and qualification requirements can be improved upon with next iterations, those aren't inherent flaws in the concept itself.
@@haroldsimarmsta750 people have been saying that about the current format of the CWC and no european side has ever done it

Even more given the fact that my club is participating, wich was just not a possible scenario when I dreamt about it as a kid 😅
I was super frustrated when the 2021 China edition of it fell through due to Covid and happy FIFA persisted on this one. I should also add I’m the type of dude that gets excited to watch Al Ain v Auckland City playing in the old yearly format (wich is now called Intercontinental Cup and will still happen!)
That being said: I agree it's just FIFA wanting to have the biggest club competition, and I understand the politics behind it all.
If I watch this club world cup, it's only because I want to watch this Inter Miami defense go up against teams with decent strikers
Inter Miami is getting torched. They don’t deserve to be here even if the tournament is an atrocious money grab
Lol not happening, Miami will have new defenders by than
@ifiwantyoutofeel Not really. They don't have money since they're spending it all on 4 people
As a Palmeiras fan I can say that's not us 😂
I cant wait to see miami lose 7- 0
Right ? Dudes complaining about a unique tournament that happens every 4 years hut still play the stupid Carabao Cup every season.
I’ll open my mouth once he starts glazing the sounders vs psg**
Match where we win 2-2 yes a tie will be the closest to a result where we aren’t getting passed around like a vape device at a public high school
Good luck to Seattle Sounders because they ended up in quite possibly the worst group 😂
@@dantralius9269 Not really, Euro teams will be sending their Youth teams as FIFPRO players will be striking.

i can see why its good for some clubs depending on how the money is distributed and how much they get , for example South Africa have been bad for awhile so maybe Sundowns can invest .
other than that there really isnt much outside of intrigue, Will Fluminense tactic and style work against Dortmund? Have Saudi Arabia poached enough talent? can Messi still do it against elite opposition? When Flamengo played Liverpool a few years ago they were really solid and took them to 120 minutes and Liverpool looked more relieved than anything after they won.
it will also be good for players from these countries too i guess because they can showcase their talents against top players
Fluminense doesn't play like it did when it won the Copa Libertadores, unfortunately. The team became worse and the coach left.
@@cvtriflu damn that's a shame
Champions league is just as bad. Same teams, swapping players and coachers every couple of seasons. Only thing to prove is which club has a worse sugar daddy.
The Champions League is partnered by Heineken and Stella Artois. Can't wait for the Club World Cup partnered by Bud Light and Pißwasser.
Giant forehead learns sports organizations want to make money.
i am excited for this to see how other continents stack up against europe
I'll have you know that club world cup has always been BIG in any of the 33 latin american countries. Just ask any one from there
Zealand, my favorite bald dude this year !
If it was played during the European season maybe instead of the nations league, that would be great, but Europeans still wouldnt really care about it
@@joebaxi01 " its being held in their mid season "
do you know that's worse right? that it will mess the entire calendar (calendar that's already chaotic)
@@Ariel-aaaa Mid season means fit players, way less chance of injuries, in no way is it worse. They can afford to have a chaotic calender as the vast majority of the south American based players already get 3 straight months of vacation
@@joebaxi01 Also Brazilian teams already play over 100 fixtures a year, this adds nothing to that.
I honestly can't understand how someone who is passionate about football not like the idea of giant clubs from all around the world playing against each other, so many historical clubs like Real, Bayern, Boca, Flamengo, Palmeiras, etc playing against each others is awesome!!!!
Also, dont sleep on brazilian clubs, there are arguments to say that the brazilian league today is at the same level, if not better, than the fr*nch, today Botafogo would win a match against PSG!!
Club World Cup has as much prestige as the International Champions Cup that use to take place every pre-season
Great idea, but it just means more matches.
The wildest thing is that FIFA are keeping the annual "mini" 8 team CWC and rebranding it as the intercontinental cup
I was born in Brazil (family supports Flamengo in a Vasco region), moved to the US when I was 5 and have been a Chelsea supporter for as long as I can remember (maybe its bc blue color good, whos to say), and the Flamento v Chelsea match is going to be a once in a lifetime experience for me
Would be really funny if Auckland City repeat their 2014 run.
I loved that so so so much. Club world cup is worth it just for that. I wish they could sign brian kaltak on loan for just the tournament to bolster the defence and just the reunion vibes.
(Like the FIFA World Cup isn’t just Mexico, Mexico U21s, Mexico U19s, Mexico U17s, Spain, Spain U21s, Spain U19s, Spain U17s, England, England U21s, New Zealand and like Guinea.)
our biggest rivals (wydad) are in the club world cup against al ain who have our former striker Rahimi so I hope he scores against them
I’m a little shocked that Rose Bowl will not get any games past the group stage but it will be cool to see Monterrey fans pack the stadium.
What would be better is there was home and away leg see how European teams coped in Africa or South America that’s only thing I’d be interested in
To much travel and not enough time. Only a friendly match more than likely.
New Zealand's Auckland City gonna win it all

Considering they'll be getting $50 million just for participating, they might be able to put together a good squad.
We, non European and non USA fans, are ABSOLUTELY excited for this tournament
Bro forgetting Werner is at Spurs is the most Spurs thing ever
I went in skeptical and am now actually kind of interested. It’s stupid, yes, but as a fan of several clubs here (particularly Chelsea but also Flamengo, Boca, and Auckland City) it’s so cool to imagine what it’s like to see them play each other. Chelsea seldom gets the chance to play teams outside of Europe, so I find the prospect of a showdown with Flamengo insanely cool.
Flamengo might get relegated too

I think UEFA runs too many competitions. That's why this tournament was created by FIFA because of the money.
They should make a tournament for all the best clubs OUTSIDE of Europe. Then the winners can play against each other or whatever

That's the most american thing you have said Mr Zoolandism
The only thing about this I'm interested in is seeing a team from OFC playing.
He says he’s not interested, but we all know that Zealand is going to be in the stands rooting for Auckland City as the only team in the competition that isn’t fully professional

I can already see how little f the European clubs are gonna give
South american players do care and there's quite a lot of them involved in this
Might not be huge for European clubs but for Sundowns and others it will be insane experience
They even changed the trophy to a shield 😐
It's a biblically accurate angel.
I hope the rest of the teams do something good so the Europeans can stop acting like we’re a joke not worth their time. I will be rooting against every Europea club.
Unfortunately they’re kinda right though lol. Im hoping for miracles.
This is mostly how I read this:
Everyone outside of Europe think that having more competition will level up their teams, and that's a good thing.
I care.. I actually excited for it. This tourney's straight forward match scheduling is my cup of tea.
They want to get a cut from the Champions League but the same clubs who usually win the Champions League will win the club worldcup as well so it doesn't really provide anything new...
FIFA has given teams 100 million reasons to care
Ah! The sundowns being called bad came out of nowhere hehe. That's not nice! We've got Brazilians and even an Ethiopian dude.
very euro coded not to care for this
this club world cup is going to be fixed
Finally.. Those players, that didn't even sit on Chelsea bench ever since they came after signing 7-8 years contract.. have chance to play a game.. Finally..
That is if they’re not loaned out to Strasbourg or a Championship club before the tournament lol
I get why Europeans don’t like it but as a fan of LAFC I really wish we were there in group D playing Chelsea but instead we just got shit on by Leon in the final
Speak for yourself, Zealand, South America is going insane over it.
Club World Cup will have to those leagues compete with the elite of European football and they most likely lose which leads to denigrating of clubs outside Europe
I mean sure the best of clubs outside Europe are not as good as Real Madrid and Man City. However I rate those clubs to be competitive against let say teams like Celtic or Club Brugge etc
As a Bayern fan if we don’t win a trophy this season I will care but if we do I don’t care about this tournament but if we fail to win a trophy then we need one more chance for kane to win a trophy
Some of the clubs in this Clown World Cup wouldn't come close to a 2nd tier leagues in Europe. Its a joke.
Yeah, your point about Sundowns falls flat. If you look at the team, you'll find players who have been there for almost 15 years.
Anyone who loves football should be excited about having a global tournament. If you are Europe centric and egotistic then I get it
Every year nobody cared about the CWC except those who were in it. So to me now it's the same
I am glad they've changed it from the old proposed format which had 8 groups of 3 with 8 European qualifiers, one in each group. In FM23 I never saw a non-European team reach the quarters so it was just a budget Champions League. So boring.
Europeans wants to globalize their teams, but not their tournaments. That's funny.
MLS ruins the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup because they were tired of their clubs being embarrassed by lower tier clubs.
Now they’re mad that Messi doesn’t win their championship so they beg fifa to allow Inter Miami into the Club World Cup.
Does the guy who whacked the UHC CEO take requests?
brazillian clubs are taking this serious, even tho Fluminense almost got relegated they are a very good team still, Botafogo is looking to bring in more talent and Flamengo when healthy is the best team in South America
Football is an enjoyable sport despite all attempts to make it otherwise. FIFA has called our bluffs from the Super League. Despite all fan protests, we’re all suckers who will enjoy a match when it’s on. Not sure how to get around this.
You don’t wanna follow the Temu Champions League?
I'm honestly so excited for the Club World Cup. Like SOOOO excited. YOU CANT KILL MY FUNNNN!!!
