Make sure chemo first it will shrink the tumor. I had TNBC along with a fungated growth coming out of the right breast with blood and pus, just kept on growing and smelled real bad, at least the chemo actually got it shrunk and it closed up on it's own! I opted out of surgery cause I am 75, so no need, so I actually have one and a half breast now!

Good day. I had mine done 17 April 2023. When your cuts had healed, put micropore plaster over the scars and leave it on a week at a time. Do that for 6 months and you will almost not have any scars.

    Dearest Becky,
It was so good to see you healing so well and so quickly. My mom had a mastectomy some 40 plus years ago and she had an ugly scar. I braced myself to see the same kind of scar on you. I was relieved and excited to see you were not marred emotionally too! You were so brave to demonstrate to others that this surgery could be done well. You have come out the other side cancer clear and more likely to stay that way for a lifetime! Hugs and many kudos to you, Becky!

Looking great Becky. The surgeon did a neat job. I had a nip reconstruction where skin was cut, stitched to create mounds. When healed I had them tattooed.
Dry shampoo is a good thing to give yourself a freshen up if you want to spruce yourself up between washes. Highly recommend this.
Bio Oil, Cocoa Butter, or Aqueous Cream will help with the scars after you’ve healed fully.
I had lymphoedema as had lymph nodes removed. Since 2005 I had to visit the hospital for measuring and to get compression garments. I was finally signed off from being a patient a few months ago as I have it under control at last.

I’ve just found your mastectomy videos and loved watching them all. I’m having a risk reducing double mastectomy with implant reconstruction on the 25th Jan, so not long now. The information you give about the whole process has been so useful to me in my preparation. Just one question, did you have your implant placed behind or in front of the muscle? All the best to you and Mark Xx

You're doing such a good job Mark! I'm so proud of both of you and your outlook on things and how well you're working together. Baby wipes are the best friend of those who can't shower. Bio oil or vitamin e oil for scars are really good. (Bio oil has no exiration as long as you close the bottle well after use it won't go bad) it's my favorite for using on scarring.

There's this cream you can buy here in Canada that's made in Germany. It's made specifically for healing scars and my plastic surgeon recommended it to me. It works really well! I wish I could remember the name of it, but menopause has my memory right now. I bought it at the chemists, so maybe ask? It's made from onions, believe it or not, but trust me, it really helps to fade scars. Even my surgeon was impressed x

I was greatly relieved when I first saw my post op breasts. No nipples but not ugly. My breasts don’t seem so personal with the nipples removed. I do have quite a bit of feeling in my breasts. Considering having tattooed nipples but after seeing my breasts without nipples I am less concerned about nipples!

I've been through 7 surgeries so far (I seem to need to buy a house or car for a surgeon every decade or so 😂😂).
Anyway, I've had success with carefully lightly massaging in either pure vitamin e or pure argan oil over the scars. After months the scars lighten.
    Sending healing live your way.
Also, some people have said tattooing over surgical scars can be very painful...but you do what you need to for yourself 💖

❤ thank you so much for being straightforward with everything, I had five masses in my right breast, and I had a double mastectomy. Also, on the right side, I had cancer in the lymph nodes, and when they tested the tissue from the left side and had the beginnings of cancer. So my choice to do both sides turned out OK. Because they said I did not have to do the left side but I’m glad I did….before my surgery I had chemo from June to November, and then the double mastectomy in December. But I had to start chemo again in January, 14 more rounds. And then in March and April I had six weeks of radiation, that stuff is not pleasant, and burn the skin off my side, they wanted to make sure they got the port halls, and where the lymph nodes were.
Your surgery lines look really well, I have puckering on mine…… and then, after all this next year, they said I could have a reconstruction, but it looks like you have small breast….🩵🤍🩵
