Hi SheRea, I am from Jamaica and Sunny Isle is just one brand of Black Castor oil and is the one exported to the US and elsewhere. There are others I have always bought in Jamaica and used which are much darker and thicker like a syrup and have a stronger smell which disappears as the days go by and they are excellent and make the hair soft and the scalp moisturized. My wash and gos and twists lasts 2 weeks without refreshing and detangling is a breeze. Haitian Castor oil is also excellent and slept on.
I agree the pure one in a rum bottle from Jamaica is 100% key. If you see the pure one from Jamaica it’s very strong and thick and sticky. The one o have is darker than that Haitian one. I’ll stick to my Jamaica castor oil from my hometown people.
We make and use castor oil in st. Lucia since before Christ was born. Ours is thick and black just like the Haitian one. It makes our hair thick and soft. It grows the hair as well
Sis yes. We Haitians keep it in stock at all times and use it for literally everything. For colds, broken bones, headaches, incurable diseases etc lmao
Girl us Haitian use Haitian castor for everything (for skin, we rub it on us when we are sick). Unfortunately for my hair it’s to thick but in every Haitian household there no way you won’t find castor oil that we call palma Christi oil. I love kreyol essence find a way to market it.
I'm from Martinique, we call it lwil Maskriti, my grand mother use to do it, I use or since my newborn stage. I tried the Jamaican Black Castor oil and I don't like it.
We use Haitian black castor oil for everything since we were babies. When I go home I always bring 2-3 quart bottles back to the states. I love my Lwil Maskriti.❤
🇭🇹 love me some Haitian black castor oil AND Jamaican Black Castor oil. I use them both, love them both. However because Haitian BCO has bit more nutrients as ricenoleic acid I tend use it more on my scalp. Jamaican BCO on my hair strands with HBCO on the ends. I’m Haitian but I love anything everything Caribbean, West Indian especially African. I researched castor oil a while back and found the same info. I also found out Castor oil is something we have used for centuries in Africa.
The castor oil made locally the Caribbean ( Saint Lucia) is sooooo different from these bottles. It's thicccckkkk and dark. So much strong and more effective. The smell is so rich. I wish everyone had the option to get it.
Haitian all day 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹 the funny thing growing up, we never used it for hair really. Mostly for skin and my chest colds. Now I use it for my hair and it does wonders. There are brands that are much cheaper. I just have family bring me back some from Haiti or the stores in Florida
Yessss HAITIAN castor oil is absolutely amazing! I know it doesn’t make sense, but my scalp never could stand JBCO. I use Kreyol essence Haitian black castor oil, the rosemary mint one. It’s HOLY GRAIL status and you know I never thought I would say that about an oil.
I always have my HBCO in stock to last a year. I use on my hair, my skin, to rub my chest when I have a cold. If you want your face to look radiant in the morning, wash your face at night and apply the HBCO, no night cream needed, just that. It's a miracle.
I am a Jamaican and I have to say it all depends on the JBC you buying. If you get it from the women and men directly from Jamaica, or from a brand that is pure pure it is just as thick, blackand smells as bad. Sometimes brands that mass produce JBC don’t give the pure pure. Both oils are pretty much the same for me.
I ordered jamekya castor oil from Jamaica it's totally different to the ones you get at the beauty stores. It's very dark, thick and smells different. You should try it.
I love Haitian black castor oil, it reminds me of our castor oil in Dominica 🇩🇲. As a child, my mom used to do a castor oil treatment every Friday night after taking down my braids for the week. Then wash on Saturday.

2 years later I’m commenting as a child of the Jamaican diaspora. I am a lover of black castor oil for every part of my body. I agree with those who have commented and said the JBCO comes from various manufacturers/outlets and there are marked differences between their results. From experience there are some that I wouldn’t buy again! I never knew about HBCO. I don’t see much difference between sides tbh in your video. Very informative. I might just splash out and try some HBCO. Your results over all were very pretty. Thank you ❤
I love this purple background for you, I love how your hair was glowing purple after unravelling 😍. HBCO definitely looked better, it's a shame we don't get the good good real no filter JBCO imported, most COs seem to be made similarly around the Caribbean.

Hi hun, great video. Just a little note though. Sunny isle and Tropic Isle are the most popular JBCOs exported but they are crap! It’s a watered down version of real JBCO. They get away with it because they have become so popular overseas. Real JBCO stinks!!! 😂 and is not as light in color as those brands, and works much better. If you have a pleasant/ok smell with it you are not using the real deal. The consistency and color I’m used to here in the rural parts of Jamaica is a lot richer and deeper. I learned that it really depends on who makes it and the process they use in making the oil. This doesn’t mean the HBCO may not be better since I’ve never tried it, but Sunny Isle and most manufactured on a large scale are not a true representation of JBCO 😊🇯🇲.
I'll probably be the odd one out, but I saw more edge growth when I used the JBCO from Shea Moisture than the Kreyol Essence HBCO. I regretted spending my money on the latter. But since I have a whole bottle of Kreyol Essence HBCO, I will end up using it all. It was $18 plus shipping after all.
JBCO or HBCO is a no no for me. I don't like the texture and it doesn't do anything for my hair. I persisted with it because of how hyped up it is. Other products have "grown" my hair and when it comes to sealing, Blue Magic Sure Gro is 👌🏾❤️

I go back and forth using both lol the JBCO that I use is from Rooted Treasure and it’s a little pricey but is bomb! It’s super thick, dark, and smelly lol great video I’ll have to try that brand of HBCO
I switched to HBCO after you used it in a video the 1st time, and it's been the 🐐 when it cones to castor oil, hands down! Once I use my homemade leave-in conditioner and seal it all up with my HBCO...moisture from one wash day to the next!!! I'm never going back and I tell everyone about it now, too. The scent on both bother me, but I've learned to deal with it lol. I do add a few drops of lavender and peppermint into the bottle when I get it and keep pushing. I think it's helped with length retention more than anything because I believe in that #BonnetLife, especially since we're still in this pandemonium lol. I'm not going anywhere, so I keep my hair protected to keep my hands out of it. I've had to put on an extra pillowcase for a few days after wash day because I'm heavy handed with all my products. But it's allowed me to skip the butter/cream after washing and anything that allows me to finish up faster, I'm with it. So thanks again for the bomb product recommendation, babes!💗💗💗
*_The Haitian Castor Oil is actually more potent than the Jamaican Black Castor Oil,_* because it's not Cooked so long in High Heat like the Jamaican Castor Oil and *_it maintains the most Beneficial & Medicinal properties._** Haitian black Castor Oil has been in use for Generations.* Just dilute the Haitian Black Castor Oil with other Carrier Oils if it's too strong for you. Most are either Dark Amber Color or Black. I've used it all of my life and there's definitely a Huge difference from the JBCO. A little bit goes a long way-don't be too heavy-handed. Don't get me wrong most Castor Oils including the clear cold press castor oil are good for the Hair and other uses, *_but some are way better than others-Haitian Castor Oil being one._* People sometimes think the Blacker the Castor Oil the better. *_That Black Color in the Jamaican Castor oil is just Burnt Ashes that do nothing for the Hair._* Has Zero benefits. It's just ashes that give its distinct color. Jamaican Castor oil just made its way into the Natural Hair market at the beginning of the Natural Hair Boom reaching widespread popularity but *_it's not the best out of all the oils._** HBCO is cheaper on Etsy and another Online site. You can sometimes get a whole Gallon for under $30. BUT BEWARE, make sure it's the Authentic Stuff.*

Without a doubt.... Jamaican Castrol oil does my hair wonders. My edges were getting thin bcuz of meds and such. So I heard about Jamaican oil from my cousin. And I tell you my edges were growing in full effect. I'm sticking with Jamaican oil ❤️
Both sides looked really amazing ❤️ Here's me still trying to wean off the JBCO (I'm being biased 😂💔🇯🇲) Definitely will try Haitian for sure as it sounds so beneficial. Loved this video 🙏🏾💕
I love it. Creative and informative. This is why I will continue to watch your videos when I get locs. I will try It when I’m done using the Kreyol essence.❤️
I would head to Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn, back in the day, and get my HBCO for $5 from the Haitian aunties street vendors. I'm sure it's not $5 anymore but, worth whatever they are charging now. Anyhow, I got the Kreyol one for $26 dollars last year at Whole Foods. I don't feel like it compares to Brooklyn Haitian auntie, tho. So I continued using the Rooted brand JBCO. Until I find my way back to Flatbush Ave or I can beg family to bring my up some JBCO from Jamaica when they visit. Thanks for the comparison. I always did know that there was something special about the HBCO cause no lie, almost every Haitian I knew growing up had nice thick hair! Moral for me, try to get it directly from yard (🇭🇹 or 🇯🇲) or, at least, from local aunties who know wassup.

I like the HBCO and it looks like you have less shrinkage or more hang time.
❤️❤️❤️
I go back and forth using both lol the JBCO that I use is from Rooted Treasure and it’s a little pricey but is bomb! It’s super thick, dark, and smelly lol great video
I’ll have to try that brand of HBCO
Definitely
Always welcome! Definitely try the neges banda brand if you ever get a chance. I feel the difference
@@SheReaDelSol i surely will. That'll be on my list of products to get next month.
Haitian Castor oil is really good I have used it before
It really is.
HBCO is the TRUTH!! Got some straight from the source during my trip there in November.
Sounds yummy!
I use both, sometimes i just mix them together, its also great for digestion issues and fibroids.
I’m going right to Flatbush BK to the 🇭🇹 spot to get this for the low. 😜
Ayeee
Girl you looking extra cute and bright in this video. Your skin is radiating. I kept thinking wow her skin is glowing, what is she doing different? 🤔 Hook a sister up. That's that NJ life! 🤣🤣🤣 Keep it up girl.
LOL LOL!!
Without a doubt.... Jamaican Castrol oil does my hair wonders. My edges were getting thin bcuz of meds and such. So I heard about Jamaican oil from my cousin. And I tell you my edges were growing in full effect. I'm sticking with Jamaican oil ❤️
the music is giving me game show vibes lol I'm invested in the outcome 🤣
I’m working on using my music to set moods ❤️
@@SheReaDelSol I'm here for it!
You're hair is gorgeous great video I have used both oils and they are good
That's what I use Haitian Black Castor oil . The same brand 🤎💫
It's so good!
My favorite line "Come on length"
I'm like yasssssss 😂
Lmaooo
Both sides looked really amazing ❤️ Here's me still trying to wean off the JBCO (I'm being biased 😂💔🇯🇲) Definitely will try Haitian for sure as it sounds so beneficial. Loved this video 🙏🏾💕
Thanks for watching boo
@@SheReaDelSol ❤️
Sis, I’m trying not to be a product junkie again! I’m already waiting for Henna Sooq to come. But I’ll probably buy these too
LOL!
I love it. Creative and informative. This is why I will continue to watch your videos when I get locs. I will try It when I’m done using the Kreyol essence.❤️
Thanks for watching love
Yes to Haitian Lwil maskreti 👍
Lwil maskreti nou an bon vré, bon bagay 👍🏽
The texture on the Hbco side looks better from this angle 🥴
Does!
Since Jesus was a boy🤣 girl stop congratulations on the 500 testimonials! Proud of you! Girl I need some good castor oil!
Thanks for watching boo
Great vid. Would love an update after a few months of use or challenge if possible!
🙏🏾🙏🏾
A challenge sounds awesome!
Loved the editing on this one! I felt like i was watching Chopped or something! 🤣
LOL!! So happy you liked it
Thanks for putting me on to something new. I will try it.
You are welcome!
They look pretty close.... Imma say this castor oil is bomb for hair Jamaican or Haitian is Castor oil is on fleek so I think either one you are winning ... side note you got Lotta Body in so that has an impact on texture just throwin that out there 😁... either way rock with what your hair likes I don’t see any losers , except someone not up on the Castor Oil team.💙
Oil is not enough to define my hair so I needed the extra umph
@@SheReaDelSol I hear u sis, just know Lotta Body can change up how your hair feels depending on what all you use with it it... get your definition gurl 💙
Oh this stimmy of mine is getting SPENT 😭😭😭
Wow, sis l
Haitian castor oil is the truth!!!! The only oil my family uses
I’m in love with your sweater and your earrings 💖
Thank youuuu
I been wanting for this video!!!!! Thank you 🙏🏼
Hope you like it!
@@SheReaDelSol definitely did!! I already got the Kreyòl Essence HBCO because of you, loved it. Now I can’t wait to finished it and try the Negev Banda BCO
I'm still going to be using both.
As you should.
