Great example to show how vital the launch and recovery system is in these conditions. Calmly sitting in wait with waves crashing over the cab. It must be a relief for the crew when they are safely being towed in.
I passed by Treaddur Bay (where this happened) about 3hrs before the shout. Sea conditions were immense and not somewhere I’d want to be in any boat! Excellent work carried out by brave volunteers!
As a surfer it is important to know your limits. Look at the period and height and determine that way how much energy is in the water. But also consider wind - my rule is to not surf if onshore wind is more than 28 mph and gust 33 mph. I just found that at that point the ocean is too "washing machine" and it isn't even worth the surf.
There are so many ways to donate. A fantastic twice yearly, generous raffle, RNLI shop (i love my RNLI hoody) and i have my brother's name on RNLI Clifden's boat with the 'Launch a Memory' appeal.
hi im 17 soon and want a job working with life boats is there any spaces for doing an apprenticeship working with the ocean/boats/saving lives?????? im uk too many thanks
There is a tuber called Ravedaddy ( expat living in Thailand (yea 🙄) who is still posting comments on line that RNLI crew are people smugglers . Help the great crews of the RNLI lifeboats in the UK and write to this vile keyboard warrior and tell him what you think of his actions . From a life long fund raiser
Well you're a poor excuse for a diver, with that comment. If you are a diver, that is. You clearly don't value life and cannot think things through: the sea is a terrifying place, it takes lives mercilessly and our RNLI cannot consider a person's circumstances when they get a 'shout'. It's simple - person(s) in danger = rescue. Have a lot more respect for our RNLI and keep politics out of it, 'buddy'.
It doesn't matter who the people are, the RNLI have a professional and moral duty to save the lives of anyone that needs saving. It is their job to save lives at sea, it is Immigration's job to figure out what to do with undocumented immigrants. Open your heart, those undocumented immigrants are people too. All human lives are equally valuable and deserving of saving when in danger. Also, how are they supposed to know the immigration status of anyone they rescue? Do they check everyone's passports before throwing a rescue line? When people are in trouble on the water the RNLI saves them, it's that simple.
Exactly! Our mission is to save lives at sea so we will always help those in trouble in the water - no matter who they are or where they come from. Our lifeboat crews do not judge those they are called on to rescue, their status, their motives for being on the water, or what brought them into danger.
Thank you to all of our rnli we all trust you and you are our saviours many. Thanks curtis.

@@rnli Thank you

Thank you, William! The crew definitely feels relieved once they're being towed!
I agree, and all the 'ground crew' at the station coordinating the rescue. RNLI🇬🇧❤

Sound advice from an experienced surfer. Others, take heed.
Respect from an offshore diver. 👌
Fantastic job these guys do!!! Risking their own to save lives. I'll put money in an RNLI collection box each time I see one.

STOP SAVING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!!!! 😡😡😡
stfu man you dont know what you are talking about
@@harmenvandermeulen8212 Actually, I do.
The RNLI's role is "the saving of lives at sea", NOT "the saving of SELECTED lives at sea".
