I just got the game recently for the Nintendo switch. I broke my arm and this was the only game I could think of playing one handed. I used 2 hanging chads, a spaceman and 2 ancient jokers I wouldn't have got the game without you thanks!
Minor complaint, but I kind of wish you wouldn’t put the highest score in the thumbnail when you make these high score videos? I feel like it’s part of the fun to gradually see how high you can get it as the video goes on. Good stuff as always otherwise Roffle, always happy to see your videos in my feed.
i think its just an unfortunate part of being on youtube; to get more views/subs you need eyecatching thumbnails and a high ass score is good for that. thankfully he doesnt do it on every thumbnail haha
I tried this seed too with some minmaxing. It's actually possible to collect 4 Triboulets, 2 Tragicomedies and Blueprint. Later you can change one of Triboulets to Mindstorm. Whole deck is polychrome lucky cards with red seals. And this is only e42. :^(
And consider this - this run had a lot of potential to grow as well. All poly, glassed red sealed kings, ecto and brainstorm for example, antimatter, probably quite a few Es on top
I have had triboulet appear twice so far in my runs... Both times while playing the deck with no face cards and I've already invested into a 10/4 or low straight build..
I finally beat my first Gold stake run on checkered deck, didn’t even have 5 jokers, only used 4 with one of them being an eternal madness and 3 other eternals.
The math nerd in me loves Balatro. At 22:40 you said you have a 1 in 7.5 chance at $20 but your odds were actually much higher. Your chance of winning at least once is about 43.5% because your lucky card triggered 4 times. You also could have had it triggered it multiple times. Obviously your play worked out but it's fun to see the details of these little interactions. Would you have taken the gamble?
While this was on in the background, I played some orange stake anaglyph & got bodied 6 times in a row. So I went down to white stake & managed to play a good game with Burglar (first time making that joker work) & played heart flush. My first two jokers from ante 1 shop were burglar & oops. I got a good few negative jokers from skip tags, got neg Chad & then a photograph for that sweet, sweet multiplier. Mix in a throwback (x4 by the end) that wheel gave poly to, & then a negative baseball for the uncommon mulit & a blueprint on that. I managed to push through to ante 12 with Mr Bones (screw you Flint) & had to replace it with a campfire. I skipped for some tarot packs, managed to get campfire to x2.5 mult with some fools & emperors, & then died at the boss (The Arm). I always seem to do a lot better when I have Roffle on in the background, either on my phone or up on my spare monitor via my phone. I think it's being able to look to my right & see a successful run that eggs me on to keep playing even the worst seeds until I get a good one.
I'm usually not a fan of high luck variance mechanics in roguelikes, so I thought I wouldn't like lucky cards, but they ended up being my favorite thing in this game. Bloodstone is an example of the kind of luck I don't like though.
Unrelated to the video: I just came up with a joker, double date, wich would just be like the family or the order but for two pair (it would give like 2.2 xMult cuz y'know)
