100% agreed on the pasta. After training steadily for several months, my calorie requirements became very high and pasta has been one of my favorite ways for me to keep my calorie count up. It's quick, easy, cheap, tastes great and is reasonably healthy. What's not to love?
what kind/ brand do you eat?
@@monchii6468 Regular dry semolina pasta, spaghetti or elbow macaroni, usually Catelli or No Name, which are Canadian brands.
The human body is meant to be physically active AND it's meant to eat. Modern society has dropped the physical activity and doubled down on the eating. It's no wonder people are in the shape their in.

PASTA AND PLANCHE🇮🇹💪🏻
the importance of pasta/rice for energy cannot be overstated. Other good alternatives are baked potatoes, tortilla wraps, nutritious bread, pizza dough, oatmeal, etc
flour tortillas are very easy to make, burritos especially are very easy to prep and store.
What about rice

But what about pasta
@@mindbodyfitn3ssyou can make healthy pizza, it's not hard and tastes great
There's been a lot of talk about how to eat in the climbing community over the past couple years. Although it's a very different sport, high level climbing often requires a lot of calisthenic strength. And the stories largely match Andrea's, in that eating more and training more is the key to performance gains, and if you train enough, you can still be very lean without having to starve. The actual foods that climbers eat varies, but pasta is definitely common, as is stir fried vegetables with protein. My own experience is the same, and I'd only add that, when choosing foods, find what digests easily, is enjoyable, and lets you train hard. If you do that, weight loss and strength gains will follow, with very little need to count calories.
But do you have to count your calories?
Gonna start consuming pasta for calisthenics gains✌
It will only work if you have italian genes bro!
@@reflection8599pasta actually has quite good macros, flour tortillas too,
pasta and chicken; beef and pasta, beef burritos, chicken burritos are all amazing macro wise and burritos especially are easy to store and prep
the only difference between a bulk and a cut and a maintenance should be the amount of meals.

I would appreciate a full day of eating, what you eat day in and day out on average days and how do you ate back then to build all this muscle. Thank you very much Daniel
What you said. 🙂 Yes. I'd like that too. It would be very valuable.
I respect this guy he seems to be a true one and no false guy 👍 he talks about what a normal human also can relate to eat or afford
Yeah, it will vary greatly between people. Genetics, lifestyle, young age, and a lot of burning off those calories Yeah, it can work. But it's not for everyone. It's for him. He clearly is also on heavy-duty supplements with that whey protein; as for PEDs, I don't know, but he won't be doing the same things in his 40s. Great aesthetics and all that, but this needs to be put in proper perspective. Also, I see some trophies in the back, and his physique looks like that of a gymnast, so I imagine he has been into that kind of lifestyle since before puberty, and his body responded. Someone doing manual labor, different genetics, older, very different thing or someone who has been overweight his whole life, trying to lose weight, you will probably end up having to find the diet that works for you, or the body will pile it up for safe keeping around your midsection. Also, injuries need to be considered. Medication people take, various side effects, and lifestyle situations Do you have a lot of young kids around the house and don't sleep well? Do you have a day job that is a stationary sitting position with an infrequent routine, like freelancers, etc.? Also, how available is food, and at what cost, where you live? Etc. Everyone is different. Some basic principles apply, sure, but there is no one size that fits everyone. Also, there are so-called hard gainers with crazy genetics, like my father, who can eat cake every day and you won't see it on him. Just crazy genetics. But he also can't easily gain muscle because the body burns everything by default. So it's not the same for everyone.
Really well said. Thank you!

@@Vlad-bs1js I didn't know about him. There is an article online, not sure if true info.
Andrea Larosa Biography
Andrea Larosa was born in Rome, Italy in the year 1995, on December 30. He is a fitness trainer and social media personality recognized for being a 6x international calisthenics champion. He launched his social media career with a 2013 video ” Street Workout Motivation” song “Remember The Name“.
In 2017, he had the opportunity to compete on the reality television program “Italia Got Talent” were the judges and audience were impressed with his muscular physic and charming personality. Andrea has been working as a fitness trainer since 2013 as a self-taught athlete. He had won several national and international competitions since 2015 and since then he hasn’t stooped his fitness career.
Andrea Fitness Career
Andre started his career as a self-taught athlete in 2013. He is best known for his street workout routines which have surpassed thousands of followers on his TH-cam channel. He represented his country in Street Workout World Championship.
He is a self-trained fitness trainer who is a member of a famous workout team named “Street Workout” He emboldens people to be fit and fine through his various workshops, seminar, and TH-cam videos. He also has a personal gym and motivates people how to stay healthy and the importance of remaining fit.
From an early age, he has always been a passionate and tenacious sportsman practicing kickboxing as a boy. At the age of 17, looking for information on bodyweight training, he discovers the discipline of Calisthenics and begins to read up on execution and training methods.

If he has good genetics, works hard, and is still young enough to be injury free but naturally producing lot of Testosterone, because 26 is your prime physical condition where you peek naturally. Its possible. Of course with the pressure to be yet another "fitness influencer" in a sea of similar guys, almost everyone starts to take something or experiment with something, sooner or later, because they became addicted to fame and fortune and vanity of how they look, so the pressure is always more and faster. Weather he is natural or fake natural its not easy to say and I'm no expert, but I can see it being either way. He would not be the first or last one to be either natural or fake natural and look like that. Either way, if he keeps this up, at around early to especially mid 30's the elite physical performance drops off a cliff. That is why all professional athletes who are not on PED's have a noticeable large drop off in elite performance at about 35-36 years old. So they have to make a decision. To keep this up and not be the their best or go on PED's and squeeze another decade out of their body.
Either way, sooner or later all of them face that dilemma. Problem with fitness influancers on social media, is that pressure to go beyond what is naturally possible is way, way sooner. I don't know about Andrea other than this short video, which is not enough, but lets just say PED's and social media career of a fitness influence go together like they were made for each other. Sooner or later as sponsorship deals ,subscriptions and everything goes high enough and they start to depend on fame and fortune and vanity, they better have something else to show for than their abs or they will be replace by new young, strong up and coming guy. I don't know what else a guy like Andrea has in his life, but it better be more than just lifting your body up the poles. That's hardly enough.
@@Vlad-bs1jshe's definitely not

What really helped me was to eat my most enjoyed foods that i found benificial for my progress, and to just track them to get a feeling about what i consume Makro and even micro-wise.
After that it came more natural to me to adjust certain meals to my progression. It seems time consuming at first but after gathering a list of your most beloved Ingredients the rest will leave you up to five min per meal of tracking.
Amazing podcast snippets… please do a podcast with k boges he’s a master basic callisthenics
Basically, if your level of activity and amount of energy spent during your work is high enough, you can pretty much eat whatever you want ...
Quality of pasta in Italy is on another level (taste and nutrient wise). Can't be compared to any other country!
It always seems impossible until it’s done
"Pizza is a must on the weekends". Cannot agree more
I finally understood something. If you eat well, even a bit too much, but good whole foods and if you train hard you will definitely loose fat and gain muscle. Precessed food and sugar are the enemy. eat pasta, fruits, meat, eggs, whole grains, vegetables...
Dr Anthony Chaffee and Dr Shawn Baker, you're welcome😉

He has a similar aproach to nutrition as me.

Very informational video, my diet is flexible like this as well and a great insight to know I am doing well on carbs. I don't track calories either. Thank you for posting! Much love!
I havee a large pizza for myself every Friday.
Its comforting seeing a man eat eating meat despite not liking it to meet his nutritional goals. Makes it easier to scarf down my greens.

Gotta eat that pasta. So easy to eat heaps of it. When I eat a tiny bit of rice, few mouthfulls (or of course potato) I'm sick of eating it already, generally. You think you're "full" but really it's just that you're over the food.
Although sometimes I can eat a lot of rice, like with Japanese curry, or sushi. Might be a Japanese rice thing lol. Also you can get rice in the formfactor of rice I found out... risoni/Orzo. Gotta try that. I hate how rice dries ya food out as it soaks up the sauce, so risoni is what I'll be trying, since pasta doesn't absorb and kind of ruin food.
Pasta in Italy is a bit different than in the U.S.
daniel, can u collab with candito?
Yeah I could eat like that when I was under 30 too.

if he does not like meat he could eat tofu, seitan, tempeh or textured vegetable protein, it's better for him, the environment and especially the animals

why would you need that when he just uses needles. Can't fool me that this guy just eats this little, barely proteins and just likes to eat pasta everyday and get that of a body. He might be little but those veins popping out and his weight gain/lose over periods of time alarms me that this guy juices so badly. Don't get while nobody else notices
Calories in calories out. Pasta/rice ain't it for me personally. Have to do veggies and meat as the starch gets me sluggish.
I wouldn't trust this video cuz we are all different and need to eat differently for growth.
Still counting calories is an important tool first of all seeing you protein intake in terms of grams and also keep in mind not everyone has the same genetics and metabolism there are a lot of people who rely on genetics too there are others who also train hard but if they stop counting calories they might not be so lean and light anymore
Also who said counting calories can keep you from eating whatever you want I eat literally whatever comes to mind everyday I never ever plan my next meak
Macaroni nutrients
I counted calories for a couple of months, its not sustainable.
I have given up and just eat as I did before I started training calisthenics, but have added a shot of whey to my breakfast, a portion of mass gainer in the afternoon and a small portion of oats+whey in the evening. All in all I just know it gives me a slight excess calories with the right amount of proteins; been happy with results and no need to track stuff any longer besides my own weight 😂
Why is it not sustainable?
@@user-vi4xy1jw7e weighting ingredients and logging their macros takes time. Sometimes I dont cook and then I have no clue what the food is made of (calories or macros). best way👍🏻 same here
It seems like his protein intake is pretty low. Not saying he needs 200g+. Doesn't seem like it's even close to 0.8g per lb of lean bw. This could be enough to just maintain his strength and muscle size and just work on skills, but what was he eating when he was gaining weight? That'll be more interesting.
calories, protein is overrated for muscle growth
@hieishaka321. No. Protein is not overrated. It can be overhyped by some. The people telling you you need 2 grams per lbs of body weight for example. But you still do objectively need a minimum to gain and maintain muscle. Less then .8 is not gonna do it for most people.
@Biggiiful
The amount of protein needed is overstated. I get in around 0.5 to 0.7 grams per lb of bodyweight and it works great.
@@alexraymond-en4dd Facts, protein is the biggest myth. I eat about 1g per kg of bodyweight (0.45 per lb) and it works great.
The thing you may not know that, the difference between 1.1g, 1.3g, 1.6g protein per kg is not that big for muscle growth and strength. And the difference between 1.6 and 2.2g protein per kg even smaller like less than 1% difference
I don’t know if this is good diet advice. Sure maybe he’s just sharing what he does but people will follow it. Ideally the human animal eats lots of fresh fruits and veggies some nuts and seeds and water. You can/will get protein from other sources without meat especially if you don’t even like it like he says here. I’ve seen lots of people do it and have done it myself. Just think about what makes sense naturally. Human animal out in nature will eat whole plant foods just like it’s closest ape relatives. Chimpanzees are way stronger than we are for example and they eat plants. Not saying our diet should be identical but very similar. Think about this as well if you’re not convinced…if you were hungry and someone handed you a live pig, would you break its neck and start tearing its raw bloody flesh away and swallowing? That is what meat eating animals do. I get that some people don’t even understand that we are animals. There are layers and layers of misinformation and brainwashing we need to unravel.
I don't get it. What's your point?
Nutrition science is a mess !
If i'm not mistaken, 100g of spiral pasta got 14g of protein
Our carbs got more protein than an egg
Protein from pasta is not as bioavailable as protein from an egg. So the actual protein you absorb and use is not that different. It's also a strange comparison you are making. 100grams of pasta to 1 egg. With just two 2 eggs you already definitely have more protein that's actually absorbed then the "14 grams" of pasta.
@@Biggiiful for me i'm not comparing it actually
But i mean carb+ egg
Carb 14g + protein 6= 20g
Instead of eating egg fried rice, it's just limited to 7g protein at most
Same combination carbs and protein but different result
I didnt mention rice earlier because everyone in the comment were talking about pasta haha
@meorazaharimeorazman9646 It's not that simple, eggs proteins have a perfect amminoacidic profile, pasta's proteins are incomplete, unless you mix them. with legumes
@@dariorox1 mix pasta with tomatoes and you'll get a more complete amino acid profile

Doesn’t look like it. Remember you’re seeing pics taken with good lighting etc. he still looks great though, don’t get me wrong. But he looks no different than a dedicated college wrestler.
Pro tip take steroids
But you use steroids no?
For all the people saying he is on steroids, he is 27 and he has already been calisthenics italian champion and winner of the SWUB world Championship so maybe just do a quick resarch before talking shit.. just because he trained like a beast for 10+ years and he is one of the most important calisthenic images in Italy and a bit also in the world circuit, it doesn't mean he is on steroids
Lol if you don't think he's on steroids
Those old man’s glasses don’t really fit him, I know it’s off topic
Man I can't afford meat , only eat 8 eggs a day for animal protein and the rest comes from veg non dairy.
0.7g/lb+ protein. more calories if you need to gain weight to gain muscle. periodically lower calories to drop fat to reveal calisthenics gains
@@chairmanlifts I will make gains regardless though , right perhaps a bit slower but surely?
@@soham9496 slower than what? 1g/lb protein is "optimal" but if you can "only get 0.7g/lb" dont stress m8. even vegans can get jacked with enough peanut butter and legumes. the only concerns i would have is check your micronutrient intake on cronometer and you might have to be quite diligent with protein if you are cutting but calories are anabolic and if you are focused on long term muscle growth its almost more important to just be mentally strong enough to give up being super shredded year around until you're jacked enough
As long as you aren’t allergic to eggs, they can be your sole protein source without issue. You can eat closer to 16 a day and you’d get what you need.

Short answer: steroids
Cool.. I can do endless cardio. Am trying to get some muscles with callisthenics.. but I feel so weak and lazy everytime I do anything strength related. Am almost at zero carb diet.. maybe I’ll try adding in some pasta then.. 🫣
Zero carb for strength is bad. The arobic muscle tissue can run on ketosis, the anorobic muscle tissue required for strenght cant. So when you try to build muscle on low carb, the body will get the carbs by breaking down muscles. Thats the opposit of what you want.
