I completely agree with reclaiming that fisherman’s sweater.
Thank you! I appreciate the support.
Love seeing how you’re giving a new life to old knits - very inspiring!
Thank you so much!
I love that you are reclaiming yarn. I have been doing that and have used the Kitchener stitch to attach the rib. I did kit one row on the rib before doing it. Now I leave a row of stockinette row on the rib. Love all your makes!
Thank you! I did try to Kitchener stitch first, but I’m not very good at it. The three needle bind off felt easier.
I really like the sweater you’re wearing. I haven’t done color work but that would be a nice one to start with.
I think sweater #28 is the best. Though I really liked the last pink one, you would have to really pay attention- but its drape is fantastic. But #28 has a very nice European, sophisticated vibe and those high necklines probably are well suited to you.
I should be knitting here because it’s been so cold in the mountains, but I’ve hurriedly been sewing warm clothes since I’ve moved from warm winter climate to cold. Brrrrrrr.
I do have some sewing plans coming up, but we will see when they arrive! Yes, the Brightfeather would be a wonderful first colourwork sweater. I just love it. ❤️
Such fun! Cashmere, how wonderful. We have nothing like that in our thrift shops where I live. Happy knitting 💕
I’m sure you could find some gorgeous ones on Poshmark!
loving the cardigan!!
I just have the button band to do now!
I just finished the Eva Cardigan by Petite Knit. I used a merino/cashmere cream colored yarn recycled from an Abercrombie & Fitch thrifted sweater, combined with a flesh pink mohair from Colourmart. I did not really enjoy the feel of the mohair while I was working on it, but the sweater softened with blocking, and it’s wonderfully soft and cozy. I love your red cashmere project!
Oh, wow, that sounds gorgeous!!!
Please always record you unravel your sweaters, even as timelapse, I LOVE to watch those videos!! So satisfying and always gives me motivation to unravel mine 😂❤ great video 🥰
Will do! I am editing an unravelling video right now!
@@Lisamakes can‘t wait to watch it! ❤️

His Lisa. Lots more of your lovely makes for us to enjoy. I’ve started a Slipover/tank/vest for the 3rd time so I’m hoping that this iteration will be the one!! Just finished knitting my very first pair of socks and more than ready to make a start on an other pair. 🙋🏼🏴
Congrats on finishing your first socks! Are you a convert now? :):) Good luck on the Slipover- third time’s the charm. ;)
@@Lisamakes I certainly am 👍
Ok I saw that rivendell on the gram and thought- did she get that other sleeve done? haha! That purple looks gorgeous on you and I love the reclaiming yarn. All your projects are inspiring!
Thanks, Whitney! Yes, a little creative license on the photos. 😂
I believe that rit dye has both acid dye for animal fibers and some other dye for plant fibers. This is so it will dye most fibers. My experience is that this dye for wool will set with heat and an acid like vinegar or citric acid. Then when you wash the wool after dyeing the other dye will rinse out. I prefer using an acid dye for wool as most of the dye is set into the fibers and less wasteful and the water can be clear. I thought if i used it again I could possibly save the excess dye bath water and use it to dye plant fiber like cotton with added salt or washing soda. Acid dye will likely be more saturated imo.
I felt it took alot of rinsing to get the other dye to rinse
out...
Thank you for a lovely time!
Great to hear your experience! It will be my first time trying to dye. 🤞🤞🤞
Hi Lisa, thanks for the videos on unraveling sweaters. I’ve heard other knitters mention it in videos, but didn’t know how they did it. You gave us good tips on what types of sweaters to buy. I’m not sure I will do it though because I have a pretty good yarn stash and need to get through some of that. I liked the Hailey Genser you mentioned and may put it in my queue for 2024. You could knit the Sari pattern and omit the eyelet. You could repeat the patterned row that’s above it. Happy 2024 and I can’t wait to see what you decide to knit up.
Yes, you’re right- I could omit the eyelets! Never considered that!
So happy to watch your video! Your sweater is beautiful ! Bonne Année to you and family ❤
Merci, Beatrice! A vous aussi!
Hi Lisa! Happy New Year! I think it’s great that you’re repurposing yarn. That cashmere looks divine! Thanks for sharing. Hugs from Deep South Texas. -lajoyagirl
Thank you! I’m having fun with it.
Your rivendalle is absolutelly beautiful! I have it on my to do list and you inspired me to cast it on soon :)
I’m so glad! It’s a beautiful design and fun to work on.
Love the v neck Rivendell sweater.
The canary is by Claire Gf Arland, Dot Pebble knits. Her knitted animal are amazing ❤️
Yes! Aren’t they sweet?
My favourite make at the moment is my Garden Cardigan by Anke Strick. My Ravelry handle is UrbanStyleJantine.
Looking forward to checking out your projects!
What about something like the stick season by Rebecca Clow or the eclair by Laura Penrose? For the dk cashmere I mean.
Great ideas! I did look at the Stick Season. It’s such a great design.
Come up here, Lisa. And we can dye it together :)
Someday I will take you up on that, Camilla. Count on it!
I wish I could get my color work to stretch! I have zero or very limited movement in yarn. People that look at the back cannot understand why because I have just as much slack at they do.
Have any tips for color work? Maybe do a video😊
Hmm! Have you tried going up a needle size? If it’s in the round you can also knit it inside out, so the floats are on the outside. My socks were quite tight when I knit them on small circulars, but when I moved to magic loop it opened up.
Leave the eyelid out.
