  • Vance & Hines and Rinehart Racing 3.5" round slip-on exhaust sounds compared head to head in this video. Both are mounted on nearly identical bikes (2016 Harley Davidson Road Glide and 2016 Road Glide Ultra), with identical 103 cubic inch Twin-Cam engines. No other mods have been made to either engine or exhaust system.

    The Rineharts sound "cleaner" to me but I love that deep throaty rumble on the hi outputs. Probably two of the best sounding slip ons out there. My experience has been that the Rineharts maintain low end and throttle response better on bikes that have aftermarket headers without the cat. Thats based off of twin cam 96s and 103s with stock cams

    To me, the Vansen Heines have a throat eater deeper more mellow sound than the higher pitched Reinhart’s. I’ve ran both of these on my bikes before I just really liked the deep throat mellow growl of the Vansen Hines without being too loud.

    Great video, best sound comparison on the tube, down to these two manufacturers for my next upgrade, running Shark roads, definitely heard, almost got sideswiped by a SUV, who was eating & texting 😂I rolled my throttle with my then stock pipes, luckily he barely heard me. I upgraded my lighting, suspension, seat, sound system and air cleaner. But have been saving to upgrade to full exhaust, not disappointed in the Shark Roads, but it’s a full system with Vance & Hines or Rinehart❤️Happy Holidays, ride hard, Kenneth

    Rinharts sound closer to a straight pipe, both sound great. I had a Low Rider S with Thrashin pipes and loved em. The Rinharts sound closer to those. The deep muffled sound of the V&H is awesome but I find that type of sound drones on long rides and bothers my ears after a while.

    I bought a used 2014 Ultra Limited with the 103 back in 2019. The original owner had V&H High Output mufflers installed with the stock header. I didn't like the look or sound of the High Output mufflers. I installed a Supertrapp unfiltered 2-1-2 head pipe and a set Cobra 909s. The sound is slightly elevated above stock, which is all I wanted on that bike. The unfiltered head pipe eliminated the cat and gave the mufflers slightly more of a throaty note. I bet a different header would sound better, though. I bought the 4" Rineharts for my 2012 Road King. It also has a 103. I didn't care for their sound with a 2-1-2 header setup. I bought V&H dresser true dual headers. That made a big difference. I love that setup. I had the bike tuned along with the addition of a stage 1 intake. I didn't detect any significant performance loss with the true duals. Since then I heard the V&H High Output mufflers paired with the power duals header (X pipe) on someone's Street Glide and they sounded amazing. What a difference the header made. Still not a fan of the looks of the mufflers or that X-header, though. I really think a header is a big factor when customizing an exhaust, at least that has been my experience with the 103 engines.

    are they same loud as full vance and hince exhaust....meaning is slip on quieter than the full exhaust?

    • @trippontwowheels
      @trippontwowheels  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know first hand, but I would think the full exhaust should be louder.

    I think the Vance & Hines just edges over the Rinehart but both are good. I just bought a HD Electra Glide Classic (shortly after you got your Bobber or was it a FatBoy (Lerch?) I love the stock pipes on mine. They are the wide HD I am guessing stock exhaust. Right now I am watching giant snowflakes falling outside my window signifying I probably won't be able to ride my new (to me) bike or sell the Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic for a while. Did your channel hit 5K yet?

    Is it personal preference as to diameter?
    Is it mainly a looks issue or is the sound different for each size?
    It's funny reading these comments how someone says one is better than the other for the exact same reason someone else says the other one is better. Subjective topic indeed.
    With that said, I'm in the Vance & Hines camp. Now where's the best black Friday deals and what diameter should I get? Lol
    2015 FLTRXS, stock everything as far as exhaust right now.

    Well I have the Vance & Hines om my soft tail and wanted to know the difference between them and I agree that they both sound great, however I can tell the sound difference is dramatically different and the Vance & Hines is overwhelmingly superior!!!! this helps me know which pipes I want on my 2024 or 2025 Ultra Limited my question is should I get the "3.5" or the "4.5"? and help on this would be appreciated!! thanks

      Wish I could help you but I honestly have no idea. I’m general, the larger diameter the pipes, the lower tone your exhaust not should have.

    And the winner is!............Vance & Hines. I don’t like the way Rinehart loses its rumble on the downside of the rev up from a rumble to a tweet. I run the Vance & Hines High Output Rounds with Power Duals with a 103 on my FLHTCU and it took some getting used to on takeoff without burning rubber. Oh yeah, it’s tuned with an fp3.

    Both. V&H true duals with RH slip ons, sounds great, the true duals is where the sound lies on a tractor engine, not so much for scavenging and peak performance but it’s negligible either way.
