I love the old team so much. The new team was so scared of House, especially in the beginning, probably due to all the application games he played lol. But Foreman, Chase and Cameron feel very calm around House, and he seems to treat them more as equals, too. They work for House, but House clearly respects them a lot. It's such a good dynamic, and it feels real.
I think they were supposed to be more experienced, close to be consultants or at least senior residents. The later teams were more like new residents just out of internship, very fresh, very inexperienced, lacking knowledge, leading to fear and insecurity. Like in real life, they behave differently.

More like "Damnit I lost my bet."
@@Humalkeisari well, that's PART of it, the reason for having a team. But I always looked at it as just as much (if not even more so) that having more minds on the problem will aid in simply getting to relevant and helpful info quicker. Because there's plenty of times when the team's in the middle of doing a differential, and the idea that one of them comes up with to go with, it's not like that was a medical fact that House himself was totally ignorant of (or any of the rest of the team, for that matter). like that you know you as a doctor have learned this bit of info along the line somewhere, you just don't remember ALL of your schooling at an equally immediate rate. So the team members help each other get to conclusions they would likely mostly reach themselves, have the training to, anyway, but it'd probably take a good bit longer. Not that simply adding more brains into the mix endlessly would make you solve things instantly, after a certain point you'd see diminishing returns and the purpose would be defeated.
How every episode goes

Wilson was being sarcastic when he said that. He wasn’t actually calling her an actress, he was mocking house for saying the same thing earlier. It’s plot misdirection, the scene they’re watching unfold is supposed to lead you to believe that she’s not poisoning him. Her reaction to her husband almost dying convinces both house and Wilson, at that time, that she’s not acting.

"If you're happy, you've got nothing to look for." House may have been an ass, but he was definitely keenly astute regarding human nature.
This is the one thing he got wrong though. You don't have to be miserable to strive for something. You can be both happy and still want more. It's called maturity and drama-free adult life.
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 100% True.
@@TheAdarshMehta In order to push yourself into real greatness, in any field, you have to have a profound lack you feel in life, like something is missing, despite the knowledge that you should be happy, despite everything. You don't need to be miserable and pop pills all day, but you do need the tragic sense to permeate your thoughts, however subtle, about life. But pills help, yeah.
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 How do you actually know *BOTH* want more tho? Thats the subtext question house is proposing by that statement. Communication right? Congratulate yourself if you're actually in the small percentage of good relationships like that (Everyone says they are but mmhmm sure) however thats why House is correct in this observation of HUMANITY as whole.
TLDR House is using basic knowledge about human nature as a whole to draw a conclusion about this couple's marriage.....and considering how it ended...
o
It's crazy that they never believe House.
Probably a good idea because it avoids "group think" (which is when a team is used to one guy usually making the right decisions so they do whatever he says no matter how dumb it is). They're all doctors, not just House, and they're all smart. If they just do whatever he says, and he's makes one mistake, they all fall with him (or don't even need doctorates if they just do whatever one guys says anyways). If they question him every time, they can ensure they have the right answer.
House has made many wrong turns before. Sure, he usually ends up at the right answer but treating every wrong hunch can get a guy killed. At the end of the day it's hard to face someone's family and say "Sorry your loved one is dead, my asshole of a boss is usually right"
He has to go through like 7 wrong ideas before he finds the right one
I don't think it's that they don't believe him. It's more so that they're trying to make sure he has it right by questioning his logic. Nothing worse than having a roomful of Yes Men when you're trying to figure out how to save someone's life. You need your colleagues to call you out when they think you're wrong as it can help save the life you're trying to protect. Also house has been wrong before
They have to not believe house. If they did, house wouldnt be right
I love how the show recognises that the reason she's poisoning him is not important and doesn't show it to us instead let's us guessing. Cause human motives in the series are pretty much irrelevant all that matters to House is the mystery of the ilness and the patient. The moment it is solved we no longer care
It's also irrelevant in the sense that there's no possible reason for her actions that would make this better. He loves her and she says she loves him (which is something House actually agrees with) and yet was perfectly fine with playing a distraught wife supporting her husband while she was actually slowly and painfully killing him.
Applying occams razor, Münchhausen by proxy seems like the obvious amswer.
“What was I supposed to do tie her up?”

Cameron is so childish and naive. She’s nearly killed so many patients.
Not childish and she brings a well needed color to the overflowing cynicism of the team
The point always was that doctors have their own hangups and methods that interferes with a clear view. By taking the contrast of the personalities House kept himself from getting tied down into repetition. It's good Cameron was the way she was. If anyone is wondering why she did it, judging from how House doesn't doubt she loves her Husband, I'd say she has Munchhausen syndrome by proxy.
Simpler explanation: she got mad jealous about her old college roommate after that 3some.
Occam's razor*. She wasn't happily married. She tried all she could to make it work, it didn't. But she did love the man, but she hated the marriage.
Also, mental illness for sure.
Definitely a sociopath you can see her "real" face when house corners her. Status, money, reputation, she has it all but got it because of her husband but she doesnt want him around anymore and quickest solution without losing the above mentioned is murder disguised as an accident
Sounds like you just finished watching The Sixth Sense and thought you'd because genius and diagnose her with FDIA. A common trait of FDIA is the desire of sympathy and praise for the factitious aid of a "ill" child. Which brings to my other point. Generally people with FDIA are parents using their child, as they have to rely on their parents to make sure they are treated. Now some adults are also victim, but they tend to be the elderly or disabled, those who also require aid from another.
Hisoka Morow Occam’s razor would be just mental illness due to fewer assumptions correlating to the same conclusion. The simplest answer is the best is a false, yet popular application of this particular scientific method. Occam’s razor is when you choose the superior demonstration which derives from the fewest hypothesis, and when the end result is the same for all hypothesis.
"It's...almost poetic."
House almost admiring how for the twisted woman went to poison her husband in such a way.
It fascinates him because it is an anomaly.. Never seen before, both brilliant and twisted.
At home, later that night, he sips his whiskey, staring in front of him.. thinking about himself.. Because he knows he walks a fine line between brilliance and madness himself, and he might get terrified of what he is capable of if he ever finds himself on the wrong side of that line.

A word of note in relationships: if after a break up, you are happy, you have simply broken up and are happy without anyone else, or you are hanging up with other people without romantic or sexual relationships, and they are mad, even if you’re not happy, then they absolutely do not love you. They have an infatuation for you. They are happy with you so long they get what they want. Love is a mutual feeling, with each person, in which both people want the other to feel happy. It’s not a “You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours,” kinda deal. It’s “I’ll scratch your back if you’re happy with it.” If you’re in an unhealthy relationship, get out. It doesn’t do you or the other person any good. Sorry if that was unrelated to the video, just wanted to point this out with all the relationship talk going around.

I love watching House M.D. my latest addiction during pandemic. With this episode, I don’t understand why the wife poisoned her husband except she gets a thrilled out of it
Sorry for the late reply, but, basically, it is implied she wants out of her marriage with him, but family and friends on both sides think everything is peachy keen. She decides to discreetly kill him by poisoning him, but to avoid being caught, uses a very rare/niche and very expensive gold-based poison that isn't really ever tested for.
If he died to it, there was a very good chance she would escape without being caught and could leave the marriage while getting all his stuff as a bonus, all without ruining the "peachy keen" image their families had of the marriage.
However, this is all guesswork. The episode never confirms the real reasons, leaving only the implications to go on.

This is the first episode of HOUSE I ever saw, and it had me hooked!
This was a great episode. One of my favorites of House, M.D.
Cameron’s reaction is priceless.
Best series ever...sure who doesn't want to hit House occasionally but still terrific series, actors, plot, humor.....👍🏻💪🏻 ✊🏼
Sherlock House
ah ha! I get it... Sherlock "Holmes" (Homes)...Sherlock House... sorry, i'm slow... i'll leave this comment now... >.>
Wilson = Watson
both Gregory House and Sherlock Holmes live in the same apartment number
Well that's the character House was explicitly based on, just remained as a doctor instead of a detective.
Fun fact: Sherlock Holmes is based on a real person, who was a doctor and used his wit to solve sicknesses. Dr. House is based on Sherlock Holmes. So in a twisted sense: House is basically the source/based on himself.
This show is phenomenal! If only I have the emotional tolerance to watch it
I am binge watching this show. I watch from 3 to 7. Awesome show.
This is based off of a real case where a man was slowly poisoning his wife.
If doctors suspected this in real life, they would isolate the patient and make up medical reasons why he can't have visitors.
A nice easy one would be to put him in a clean room and say it's an "allergic reaction to an unknown allergen". They could then continue testing for different metals as he got better. No need to accost people in the bathroom, or tip off a murderer that you're onto her when you don't have either proof or backup, both of which are incredibly dangerous things to do. House put everyone involved at risk unnecessarily.
allergic reaction could also tip off the murder. given this is a crime of passion i don't think she intends to harm anyone else besides the husband.
@@takumi2023 To your first point, I'm not sure how that could tip someone off, but even if it did, at least it would be less likely to make them panic and do something dangerous.
To your second point, regardless of her intentions, when people find themselves cornered like this, it can escalate the situation.
