Dancing class is a good starting point to improve your confidence with women in addition dancing is biologically part of the mate calling system. I have learned salsa and danced at least with two hundreds of women now I am more easily start a conversation with girls and asking them for dancing without drinking alcohol. Although I haven't picked up a girl yet because I still have problems with my social skills but I got many good signs from women while I danced with them. Bet there were girls in the class and in dancing night who would dated with me. This guy should try out too. Mutual love, respect, and affection is really all you need. However, gifts are a lovely, simple way to show affection if you have the means. Hell before I was injured and loss my job I was paying for food,snacks,drinks,or whatever the lady wanted to be comfortable and in good spirits. You have to at least do that much when chilling with a woman especially if you expect to get some. I did make 1200 and up a week so it was no problem.
As a woman, I say gifts aren't necessary from either gender (save for things like holidays and important events, given basic financial security). Mutual love, respect, and affection is really all you need. However, gifts are a lovely, simple way to show affection if you have the means. I do sympathize with men who have encountered women who expect men to follow traditional gender roles only when it suits them, but if that's not what you want, there are plenty of women who will see the nonsense in putting people in boxes based on arbitrary traits and support you as an equal.
If you're just looking for a hookup, it does often makes sense for a guy to pay for extra things, but that's only because women take on more risks given the possibility of pregnancy. If someone's on the fence, but given gifts or food might take things a step further, it's perfectly fine to consider taking that gamble so long as you acknowledge things might not pan out through no personal fault of either party

People think simply giving to other or buying for others will get them the love and respect they crave not realizing they are simply viewing people as objects to be bought but also playing themselves short by insinuating they are only worth what they have materially. Often gets confused with genuine kindness
Look, I don't know what country/culture you are from (although I have a suspicion) but paying for food, snacks and drinks isn't a requirement at all. I can buy and cook my own food and snacks. lol Or do you mean you paying for food when going out? It's it common now to switch it up or share the bills nowadays?

I understand a person like me is rare or people think don't exist,but I treat people in general with kindness and respect even other men. I treat my male friends the same way I treat my female friends. I don't do special treatment unless it's a woman I'm in a relationship with. I buy my guy friends snacks and cook when they come through because I want them to feel welcomed in my home. This is how I was raised
