4 years on and still a useful review/manual. Always liked these but not quite enough to buy new, but have just put in an eBay bid for 75GBP so we'll see. Thanks for the video.
Your demo on how to set the watch indicates to me why I would only buy a Bluetooth version of this watch. It is so much easier to do it all on the phone!
I have had this watch for 2y now the only problem I have lots of watches so It doesn’t get a lot of wrist time but I have just adjusted the strap to fit my wrist Correctly so it’s probably going to get more time on my wrist but only when I’m in I non-rough environment so I don’t damage it’s good looks
My Atomic G-Shocks are very accurate to the second, unfortunately Bluetooth not that accurate to the second, but 4 seconds out is nothing .. thanks for posting .. 😊
Even though it has a Bluetooth connection, It connects to your phone 4 times a day at 12.30am, 6.30am, 12.30pm and 6.30 pm, so it is very accurate to the second. I check all my watches against the Atomic clock. I also have Casio’s with Atomic time and a couple of Citizen GPS satellite wave watches, and the Edifice, Casio and Citizen watches all have the second hand move at the exact same time.
Wow , what an excellent review and set up guide, I have ordered one and was going to cancel it, however watching your review has made me want the watch , subscribed
I have the same roles but there is an issue with the application. On one it connects normally and calculates the time, but then it cannot calculate the world time on the alarm clock and on others that the application has. Is there any solution? Thank you.
@@DougFNJ Alright! I myself is a collector of watches and so I can very well understand that where are you going. Keep making such quality videos. Thanks for replying mate!
Hi there. Great review, many thanks for it! Can you tell me what the difference is between EQB-1000D-1ACF & 1AER? The latter is what I normally see on the webshops.
After a year, the watch holds up fine of course. It's isn't a daily wear for me, but none of my watches are, I go through a rotation. This could easily be a daily wear for a 1-2 watch collection though.
I have a EQB-50 that I really love so this looks interesting does anyone know if the bracelet is removable? On my 500 it isn't witch is a bloody shame in the winter. I have upgraded that with a machined clasp for 15 bucks on Alliexpress that had an extra micro adjustment and man I'm glad I did that. What a HUGE DIFFERANCE in wearability.
I just got this watch. A very good watch, but the things I didn't like and that are really features of 25$ watches: - Lum is practically non-existing. Impossible to read the watch in real night conditions. - The bracelet could be better. It's folded metal sheets, not solid links. Plucked all my hairs. Now, I have no idea why these 2 things couldn't be better on a 300GBP watch. It's something you wouldn't expect on an expensive watch.
I would agree with your comments on the price , however shopping around I purchased mine from a well known High Street jewellery shop for £97 , so shopping around makes it a brilliant watch for price, I agree lume is not great but I think its more a Techy watch, again I agree about the bracelet but playing devils advocate it is nicely made and keeps weight down , This of course is just my humble opinion, and I think you raise good valid points
this watch is a bit too shiny. Definitely very good looking. The design is amazing and it is very thin. What I do not like honestly is the accuracy of the quartz. the limits are +/- 20 seconds in a month. But I sometimes see more than that. I have other cheaper casio quartz watches which are more accurate in terms of time keeping. I suppose it has to do with the new thin design movement.
Ive noticed that with my Casio watches that synch to phones and atomic. My guess is they focussed more on accuracy through outside tech before on board accuracy.
@@maximushornet sure seconds are not that critical. But with our hectic life style minutes of deviation might be too much. It is a matter of personal preference really. I might be a little obsessed with being punctual or this might be an excuse for me to buy beatiful watches :).
solar quuartz movements tend to be less accurate than regular quartz movements. i think it has to do with the technology in general, not casio's faults.
@@DougFNJ is the diameter of the watch as same as diameter of seiko turtle or seiko skx? I wanna buy this online but afraid if this watch too big to my 6 1/2 inch wrist.
Interesting observation, you have me wondering what was green in the background. I don't think that's something that comes up as much, equipment and lighting has improved since. Thanks Gundam.

I'd love to see the movement inside one of these. There's so much tech inside such a small package
I'd actually like to see it too......I never have the guys to do it lol
Detailed , informative and explained very well . Thank you !
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment Sam, I appreciate it
Just got this watch , the red dials version , strap was easy to adjust with the right tool and year love it
It really is a great watch, very unique, and a lot of tech in such a thin package.
Was cool when I opened the box and it beeps and sets itselfs all before any bt pairing

Totally John! I love that they gave us the option, and I love how finely tuned the app is. A true final product
Agree this is the nicest looking Edifice… Has a Sapphire crystal which is super…
it would be the best looking if they didnt interupt the bezel with those bolts...

Love your reviews. Tq. Getting this soon.
Thank you very much! It's a great watch. Which color version are you going towards?
I just bought 5604 model, can you do a video on how to size the wrist bands?
I will do that in a future review. Have a few more watches to catch up on, may do a tutorial between them.
Hi, great video! I'm thinking on giving this watch a try. Would you still recommend it today?
Absolutely! The updated versions mainly offer more choices, but the tech is still pretty much the same.
A fantastic and a very detailed video! BTW, what are you doing with so many G-Shocks?
Thank you very much Terry! I collect a lot of them, and buy and sell quite a few too. Makes it part of the fun of the hobby that can fund itself.

Hi there. Great review, many thanks for it! Can you tell me what the difference is between EQB-1000D-1ACF & 1AER? The latter is what I normally see on the webshops.
Thanks for watching! I believe the difference is Sapphire Crystal, and sold outside of USA.
Which one has the Safire crystal, this model 1ACF (blue) or the other model?
How to Set Hourly Chime?
When I bought it it does not started working, It is a SolarEQ1000 I do not know what I can to do
Make sure you put it in the sun for a day so you get a full charge. If it’s still not working right, reach out to support.
is the mechanism of this watch quartz ?
Yes, solar quartz, batteries last forever on mine.
after more than 1 year hows the watch ? do u use it as ur daily watch ?
After a year, the watch holds up fine of course. It's isn't a daily wear for me, but none of my watches are, I go through a rotation. This could easily be a daily wear for a 1-2 watch collection though.
can change to another strap(other than stainless steel)?
yes, but this one would be touch as the bracelet and case are so thin.
How do I know if it’s fully charged? Is there any indicator ?
When connected to the app, you see the battery life on the top
The second hand will jump in increments of 2. If the battery is really low, the hands will return to the 12 o’clock position

the bracelet is removable on this one, but I am thinking with the thin size, harder to find a band that would go well.
@@DougFNJ what size is the bracelet lug?
better than a smartwatch...is this watch durable?
Thanks for watching. I wouldn't wear this while doing manual labor, but I'd say as durable as any quartz watch. Impressively thin!
I'm debating whether to get the version without bluetooth, or go for this one with Bluetooth? 🤔
#me Too...
I always go for versions with the more features so I have no regrets later on, unless you are absolutely certain you would never seek Bluetooth

what's with the 6'o clock dial going round and round in the second half of the video?

Awesome
Amazing what they can fit in such a tiny package
I guess the watch is close to a green screen so the color reflects off of the watch itself and made it confusing as to the color of the actual watch.
