With a few other key diesels also arriving this year, I'd slip this one in as as well deserved fourth best diesel release this year. Top 5 for me is the SLW class 25, then the Cavalex class 56, then the Accura series 2 class 37, then the Accura class 31, then the Bachmann class 25. Mines DCC sound fitted but even so I can hear the fan motor whine over the sound, it detracts from the model somewhat and I daren't even think how bad it is on a silent DC model with unrestricted track voltage going to it. Really looking forward to the IC liveried 31420 arriving, and hope they drop a 100 ohm resistor in the fan circuit or use a lower speed motor between now and then so that DC users can enjoy that feature too.
@@Simon-Davis thanks , I would almost agree but you did miss out the Deltic, which I would put in as 3rd , 37 first, 66 second, 31 4th, but will wait and see what the 60 is gonna be like , 👍
Hi, very good review of a great loco, I don’t know what goes through the people who pack at Accurascale, those big boxes hold 2 locomotives so they take a loco out and put the packing into the space where the loco was removed instead of around the loco left in the box, not very clever in my opinion as the loco box isn’t fully protected, the delivery company Accurascale use are good as I’ve never received a damaged box as yet fingers crossed, the loco is very good value for money in my opinion and the detailing is exquisite all over the model, the inclusion of the working fan is excellent! Bachmann are hideously expensive and their packaging is piss poor compared to other manufacturers and needs attention, I wonder if Accurascale will produce an RTC livery model at some stage along with a crane. I’ve had issues with Accurascale models over the years and I can honestly say they’ve always sorted them out for me so it’s not really an issue as far as I’m concerned, if I can carry out the work myself then it’s a bonus unlike another manufacturer who don’t carry spares and want you to send back your locomotives when you have an issue, enjoy your new locomotive and thanks for sharing.
@@StormmyStormmy thank you yes I do agree they are much better than bachmann though most of my stock is the older bachmann as it is quite cheap compared to the new stuff which is well over priced, though my brother still likes buying them 😆 I'm hoping I can sort out the issue as still waiting to hear back from accurascale I sent them a video and pictures of it so fingers crossed 🤞
@ I have a large amount of Bachmann diesels in my collection, fortunately I’ve never paid full price on them because I picked them up in sales and got lucky on eBay on a few occasions, Accurascale don’t mess you about when you have issues with their products, they will sort your issues out that I’m very sure. I wish ModelU would print their figures faces with a bit more colour as they remind me of zombies every time I see them, it puts me off buying them.
