Warhammer 40k Deployment video focused on the concepts of deployment instead of things you already know like other videos. Honestly I watched some of the other deployment videos on TH-cam, and they didn't really teach much. This video goes over mistakes people make, questions you need to ask, and even formations!!!!
The biggest highlight of this video that just really helped me is you demonstrating through TTS. The visual example helps me interpret and learn whats your saying. I love it! Best video yet 🎉
I gotta say, I think this is the best 40K tactics channel around. I could see it getting big. I feel every other channel gives very obvious tactics advice, whereas this one actually gets me thinking about things differently.
As an Ork player, if I'm not in the opponent's deployment zone by turn two engaged with multiple units, i'z muckin about! Kommandos, big mobz of boyz with Wierdboyz and warbosses, trukk boyz, squighogs and stormboyz give people a lot to worry about in deployment. Also, don't try that slant settup against a melee-heavy ork list. We've got so many ways to make a charge, and weaving three or four units together means three or four units that have to deal with 80+ ap1 attacks hitting on 2s and exploding on 6s (War Horde detachment).
Orks are playing their own game for now lol. It's still a tool for the toolbox to use when needed. This is just a meme way to hide stuff I thought was hilarious. Past editions had rules to prevent you from doing stuff. Scouts can block an ork charge pretty well when you can't shoot them away because of smoke grenade
A deployment tip: Always (read sometimes) leave your most expensive unit exposed. If you're playing anyone but a really experienced player the temptation to eliminate anything from your biggest tank to your Avatar of the Bloody Handed God will distract them into wasting assets. I used to find it so frustrating how it would take till my tenth game with a new 40K or Warmachine model, but eventually I came to see it as an asset. The "new model distraction" is really good in friendly/non-tournament games because your friends will fear cheap new models for their novelty lol
I think a good supplement to this video would be one about setting up terrain and whatnot. I feel like a lot of issues videos like this one is trying to address will often be at the fault of how terrain was set up more so than actual deployment
I completely agree, it is pretty hard to prepare someone when you don't know the battlefield. I made a player placed terrain video that goes over each type of terrain. I could maybe do something like that again for 10th

I really struggle against my friend's ork army. I'll try to use the dead zone tip and put my really shooty Marines in the dead zone, so that if he wants to kill them, he'll have to give up fighting over the objective
yeah, against orks standing still first turn is never a bad idea to think about. when orks cross the mid they go down fast. just dont lose too much to their dives. =)

Got my brother bamboozled with fast Ork vehicles and scalpel like kill packages inside. He expected me one place, and focused a lot of visibility on that zone. Which told me that I needed to take a side route and work my way through his this flank. I'm looking forward to see your thoughts on the dead zone in your Marines video.

Also showcasing certain things in TTS goes a long way too. A lot of similar videos are basically just boring powerpoint presentations at best. Yours on the other hand shows dedication and stays entertaining while also being highly informative

Played my buddy' Tau today, I don't understand how to counter a horde of distance shooters. I feel like my chaff gets in the way of me properly dealing with his stuff while his shooters take out my mid and back lines, but if I were to reverse and put everything good out turn 1, he said he would have his pick of targets even earlier. I'm not sure if deployment is where I lost the game, but I'm scratching my head at where I could have done better against an "aggressive army that avoids melee".
