*to spot an athena emissary you can look at the flag behind the ship. If the flag behind the ship is round or has spikes on it, it's gold hoarder, order of souls or merchant, but if the flag is completely square then it's an athena emissary*
You don't have to hold right click for silent repair. I just hit it when i start my repair and it still works. I personally have always done that and it still works as i just did it while watching this video.
For new watchers: Silent Repair (and I think sword lunge cancel, could be wrong) are taken out of the game! Recent update removed the ability to do these!

A serious caution while loot sprinting. If you have unstable internet and randomly lag, you may completely lose the item. It can disappear completely, and I assume you loot sprinted it to the Sea of the Damned.
It only disappears on your view though. Other players can still see it when you drop it. The speed boost you get from it is so minor that I never do it with anything valuable though.
Ive mastered the sloop ladder glitch but its so OP for everyone. i double gun and now that there r no wallabangs its impossible to kill someone (so i thought). Sword so happened to still hit through the wall which is fare. This is why this games pvp is dog shitly made
If you and your ship is on fire, take a bucket of water, run to the burning spot, and then use the bucket on youself .. this way you put out the fire on you an on the ship. So you dont muss refill the waterbarrel that often. Saves some time!
How in the hell do you put the audio with the visual at the right moment where the audio matches with the emote!? Makes me love this video so much more

There is another way to cancel a sword lunge. While you are charging your sword and it you are performing the jump lunge, jump backwards just before the lunge initiates. It cancels the rest as well
How to sword dash for the players who don’t know. I pre ordered the game but haven’t played it until recently and when I came back I didn’t know the sword lunge exploit until I saw a video a couple days later.
One small thing. A sloop is the fastest ship against the wind until there's another sloop behind it. If two sloops are going against the wind with sails straight the sloop in the back will have a slightly higher speed than the sloop in the front. So the fastest ship against the wind is a sloop but more specifically a sloop with another sloop in front of it.
I knew all of these already BUT I loved the video and your videos have brought me from running away from every other player I see to letting them pass me up to see if they want the smoke

@@HitboTC I die almost everytime I have hand to hand combat with a player. Cannons? I'm great at. But for some reason just.... maybe I panic, or maybe sword and rifle aren't the best choices. xD
The loot can disappear on your view sometimes with bad ping and you don't really get a significant speed boost anyway. Other pirates can still see it where you dropped it though.
Some people stay active in games just to farm money. And their crews can't kick them out of the game, only vote them to the brig. They basically just leave the game, while the other pirates were doing the work for them. So to counter this Rare made a timer where, if you don't move for a certain amount of time, the game will kick you. They have a short timer that will kick you for not interacting with the game at all. But, because these lazy farmers found out they can just leave the game while taping down a stick on the controller(making them spin around in circles) Rare also had to add another timer, a little longer one, for how long you can be in a game without doing something other than just running around in circles. This has the unfortunate effect of also kicking people who are hiding on other people's ships. Even if you move your mouse around frequently, you will still get kicked in the end. To counter this you either have to stand up and get back down in a hiding emote, or you can just change the field of view as shown. I discovered this when I was hiding on a brig, which had gotten an ashen athena, while I was sleeping in their crows nest. I got kicked while they were sailing towards the outpost. This was before the FotD and I had only stolen one athena back then, so, obviously I was in quite the emotional state after they kicked me.
Uh the FOTD can only be activated by players You need to collect the 6 flames of fate and you also need a ritual skull And no FOTD uses a different type of key
I love the tips you give out to new and old. One gripe, don't tell people how to run... adventure is already full of that culture, why make more people aware of it? Not much for us lengendary sea dogs to do, when they run it's just worse..
Ahoy fellow legendary sea dog! I agree tbh, running is useless for both parties, all that's gonna make me do is spawncamp you when I inevitably do catch you. Just fight.
@@goldendj9700 Running is sometimes a viable strat, but not often- and it's a go to for lesser skilled/experienced players. At least let them figure out the logistics behind running on their own. We can all benefit from that. Both a learning moment for them, and not encouraging boring gameplay... all in the effort to save pixels in a collect-a-thon...

I found a way to go faster if you have a limp. Block with your sword, jump forward, stop blocking, and repeat.

The FOV thing is unecessary, simply moving the camera counts as an action so you don't get booted

Actually it makes sense that the sloop is the fastest in the wind because of the fact that there is less masts witch means less drag

Depends on what you play on. Blunder is a good weapon up close.
