    I’m hyperactive from childout and when thing’s get drive me mad I had to training staff and these shaolin move naturally to hit trees grasses etc ,that make me peaceful but I do not know that was kung fu ,
    Now a day’s I can destruct thing’s really easily ,like wood doors or wall with a kick or a palm strike .. no one guide me I’m on my own from ever I know
    I enjoyed to see figure 8 and reverse, I feel not alone like monster or psycho ,
    I feel art from the ancestors ,I feel human thanks

    What about footwork? Can these blade movements be accompanied with any change in direction, such as forward back, sides?
    I don’t have a Chinese sword/saber, the closest thing I have to it is a large machete. Is it ok to practice with that?
    Since My Katana requires a while different set of movements, which I don’t think can be applied here.

    • @wyverncraft4566
      @wyverncraft4566 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually I believe you can use your katana like in the vid cause there is a Chinese saber called the Miao dao which is basically the parent of the Japanese katana

    I have this question in mind for a really really long time.
    Why is that fabric on the end of the hilt?
    What is it's purpose?
    Please I need the answer! D:

    • @junhongskungfuclub2804
      @junhongskungfuclub2804  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The answer depends on who you ask.
      The problem is this weapon has little in written history about it. It was a dueling weapon and has not seen wide scale military use; so there is not a lot of information about it. This is why the answer will really depend on who you're asking.
      Two of the most common answers you will get are:
      1) it balances out the weapon. It feels very different without. The Niu Wei Dao I'm using is solid and heavy and the flag really helps.
      2) it draws the eyes away from the fatal points in the edge. Most Chinese weapons have a specific measurement between blade to flag, tassel, or hair, that maximizes the concealment of the blade. Spear, chain, swords all have this specification.

      Measuring blade length method:
      Stand up straight as possible with your hands at your side, arms relaxed and straight;
      Southern style- from the palm to the ground
      Northern style- from your wrist to your ear

      This is an aluminum dao, its not as heavy as some of my steal ones but its more rigid and forces you to learn good technique or strengthen your arms lol it is also an antique now, I haven't seen one for sale in a very long time. These aluminum swords have a tendency to snap in half so every time I use it I really appreciate it still being one piece.
