  • Finland has one of the most comprehensive disaster response systems of any country in the world.
After losing 90,000 people in the Second World War, the authorities in Finland put measures in place to make sure that if it happened again, the nation would be ready.
From underground shelters in all buildings over 1,200 square metres to training exercises involving the police, fire department and medical services, Finland is prepared in case any crisis should strike.
⚠️ Finland joined NATO on 4 April 2023, from which point the Alliance consists of 31 Members

Countries that were attacked in WW2 like Germany,Japan,Finland,Russia, etc, seem to have extensive public underground facilities to try and protect their people from nuclear attack and/or other hazards. In the US, there are no such public facilities.

Never thought about those shelters that much, guess nobody else has those? But they are used to store stuff, if nothing else.
And there are many private sector aspects which in case of a war will change, for example manufacturing. Practically all key bridges have slots to them, so in case of a war they can be easily demolished with a simple charge (to right spot).
