Man! This guy is awesome, you can just tell that he really has a passion for food and cooking. He made this dish seem so easy--will definitely be trying this one!!!!
Young man. You bring me back to my roots. I hale from Little Italy in Boston, third generation, but been on Big Island for 33 years. It is a pleasure to watch your wonderful videos (I only just discovered them recently). My grandmother,Angelina, from Tuscany would have appreciated your sense of history and the knowledge you share with your viewers. And my Sicilian grandfather, Florindo, would have loved your passion for food! I was three years old when I made my first "homemades" . I remember hanging the pasta on clothesline to dry. Keep it up Frankie! You are an inspiration. Aloha
+Dabney Fountain he's definitely very articulate but I don't think that's what Leroy was referring to, it's more Frankie's tone, his voice always sounds slightly hushed (not a bad thing, just an observation)
I have been making "pasta alla Norma, my way" from NY Times for years and it's my favorite pasta, but this looks equally delicious and I will try it. Thanks!
This looks delicious. I'll have to try making this. BTW you're right about the year and Vincenzo Bellini being Sicilian, but Norma had its premiere at Teatro alla Scala, Milan.
I remembered being forced to eat eggplant when I was a kid... I've always hate it. But for some reason, you make eggplants look appetizing. Lol, guess I'll try this recipe 😊🍆🍝
Hi Frankie,WoW! Sexy recipe, great for date night!(even with the Garlic:) Great technique on the eggplant, now I'll actually buy them and attempt my Nona's eggplant risotto! Thanks.
Ahhhh...I know I'm supposed to love the pasta and think of the sauce as only the condiment, but I just can't get into pasta as much as sauce...sauce forever. This looks awesome btw.
I'm italian and this is not the real recipe. you have to fry the eggplant and lastly put everything together with the pasta. It's a little bit different, and speaking about food we Italians are kinda fussy.
+the bullock però, è molto meglio di tutte le altre ricette che sono sbagliatissime. Ogni tanti si devo fare un livello un pochino più basso per far capire almeno un pochino agli altri che non sono italiani - giusto?
Please more Frankie. I really like this guy.
+ian3314 He has a youtube channel
Man! This guy is awesome, you can just tell that he really has a passion for food and cooking. He made this dish seem so easy--will definitely be trying this one!!!!
I'm like weirdly falling in love with him... Like I told him I wasn't into him... but he convinced me I was...
Thats hilarious
Such hushed tones compared to his Struggle Meals “boom boom boom”!! Love him either way
This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, the pasta looks great too.
Lol I agree!
I love the carefree way he cooks

I love how chill Frankie is in these versus Struggle Meals.
I miss this calm, suave Frankie.
why does this guy talk like he has a secret to tell us
LOL WEAK
Loooool true!!!!!!
You're not used to such an articulate presenter.
+Leroy Chan oh my god so freaking true!
+Dabney Fountain he's definitely very articulate but I don't think that's what Leroy was referring to, it's more Frankie's tone, his voice always sounds slightly hushed (not a bad thing, just an observation)
Frankie's voice is soooo soothing
I love to watch all his cooking, even if I don't get a chance to cook most of his recipes. He is my go to ..if I need a recipe.
This guy has some good tips and he's also kind of quirky. I like him! :) You do your thing, Mr. Professor dude!
His voice👌🏼👌🏼.....
Frankie.. Cool dude
+moe761 yes

I have been making "pasta alla Norma, my way" from NY Times for years and it's my favorite pasta, but this looks equally delicious and I will try it. Thanks!

+Noor Habib thanks for watching them
Love this guy!
looks delicious! Also really love that you share the dish's origin story with us :)
This looks delicious!!! A simple pasta dish that tastes good w/o heaps of heavy cream and cheese. 😋🤤
Looks so delicious! Absolutely gonna make it tomorrow, just without the cheese! Please, make more recipes like this, Frankie!
+The Vegan from Bosnia there should be a decent amount of new recipes that you'll like going forward from here
love frankie! found him on struggle meals, working my way back!
This looks delicious! Eggplant is one of my favorite veggies!
You forgot the anchovies? This guy has been around a while he has a show "Frankie Cooks" on pbs or public access channels. Love this guy
You're like the Frasier of cooking videos, I love it! looks delicious.
I absolutely 100% agree.
+Joe Bernes I DON'T SEE NO SHERRY!!
This looks delicious. I'll have to try making this.
BTW you're right about the year and Vincenzo Bellini being Sicilian, but Norma had its premiere at Teatro alla Scala, Milan.
I really like this dude.. cheers from Paraguay..
Hat tip from NY. Thanks for watching
I love a man who can cook and who has lovely nails! lol
Great recipe!
Frankie, you're the man. I love when you're on Tastemade's snapchat channel.
This is so much more enjoyable than being yelled at while making $2 struggle meals.
bruh 😂
Looks amazing 👍
He used to annoy me so much but he just used the words Vincenzo Bellini and Norma in one sentence so now I'm a fan!!!
My god, you are a beautiful man. A beautiful man who can also cook lol
I really love his show "struggle meal". It's like the funniest cooking show ever
Oh hey, did not know that about eggplants and seeds! Awesome :)
yeeees amazing recipe! need to try this - without cheese of course! (;
made this tonight for dinner its amazing!!
+ec0chic rock&roll
thanks for the eggplant tip for a less oil
great, gotta try this one
i dont even cook and i love him 🥺
Bravo Fracesco!
Hi Frankie, what's something non alcoholic that I can substitute for wine, but not water, something that will add a similar flavour
And he's my favorite too.
BEAUTIFUL!
I remembered being forced to eat eggplant when I was a kid... I've always hate it. But for some reason, you make eggplants look appetizing. Lol, guess I'll try this recipe 😊🍆🍝
You won't regret it
this is so cool ! I'll make it vegan by not putting ricotta on top. thanks !!
😋😋😋
+Andra V. same it looks awesome!
+Andra V. And without pasta?
TheNalleBalle there are actually tons of pastas that don't contain egg:)
We get it. You're vegan.
So appetizing,
Hmm, I thought it's the skin that makes eggplants bitter, not the seeds
Can't wait to try this, yum!
Both. And both are removed from this recipe
That pan is almost as big as he is! Awesome recipe, btw 🍔👉👉
Hi Frankie, in a different video you said that you don't put cheese on oil and garlic based sauces, but isn't this one also oil and garlic based?
Yay for vegan recipes! Minus the cheese at the end ;)
And minus the wine 😉
Frankie = Norma
Does Frankie need a wife, because I'm single, and Italian...
kathleen basile same
🤣🤣 I’m not gay, but his cooking is hard to refuse 🤣🤣
wait so essentially this is rigatoni in awesome sauce? Nice.
Watching while eating a Struggle Banana Bread Mug. Good times.
Where do you get all these cheeses?
I want this!°
What can you substitute alcohol with while cooking?
Water or broth.
Goddamn this man is a national treasure!
Yummmmmmm
how many will this serve?
+Jake figure 100g or 1/4 pound of dried pasta per person. 1 eggplant for every 2 people and go from there
Hi Frankie,WoW! Sexy recipe, great for date night!(even with the Garlic:)
Great technique on the eggplant, now I'll actually buy them and attempt my Nona's eggplant risotto! Thanks.
orgoglio siciliano
yum!
all kind of yummy ;-)
Ahhhh...I know I'm supposed to love the pasta and think of the sauce as only the condiment, but I just can't get into pasta as much as sauce...sauce forever. This looks awesome btw.
"PAN!...some olive oil....i'm gonna do a lot of olive oil." He may or may not be high. 1:28
What is a good non alcoholic substitute for white wine?
The pasta water. Clean water with a little lemon. Or some broth
laney it's really up to you, they're all good
He sounds like Nicolas Cage in Moonstruck... and that's totally Norma
Yay! Another Frankie video! Haha he makes me laugh. (but in a good way I guess?)
Him: roll it up like a--
Me: joint
Him: ...cigar
Me: Looool wrong one xD haha
that recoil at 1:23 is the recoil of a man that just burned his tongue because he tried to taste boiling water
what's the song?
as A muslim, could u recommend another ingredient than using white wine?
+athirah wahida water with a little bit of lemon
OMG THANK YOU FOR REPLYING!!
In italy we don't use lemon or wine believe me it's better
Frankie Cooks I had the same question, thank you for replying Frankie :)
He's sexy! HAHA
I've never tried eggplant. Can someone explain the taste?
Just try it
Tastes like an egg fucked a plant
You sound super exhausted... Are you ok?
#itswhatsfordinner
+rennalove4ever wurd
they say the amount of seeds depends on wheter the fruit is a male or a female, i believe the female has the most seeds.
Great cook, but did he just throw his spit water back into the boiling pasta water?
it's ok. he's the only one eating it.
True. Good point. It looks delicious.
Ummm its boiling water it kills the germs
you managed to do the near impossible... over cook Rigatoni. i also think you forgot the tomato paste.
your voice is sexual. great recipe too. more please :P
Actually the Pan is bigger than he is...
Its just better to burn the entire eggplant on fire from the stove
Trust me i am an indian and veggies are one of our strength
Be my husband?
daddy
Say "basil" again.
first muh fuckas, damn im hungover
+MrSamoez28 this is a good hangover cure, so you should make it
I guess this guy get lots of girls by cooking for them
I'm italian and this is not the real recipe. you have to fry the eggplant and lastly put everything together with the pasta. It's a little bit different, and speaking about food we Italians are kinda fussy.
+the bullock però, è molto meglio di tutte le altre ricette che sono sbagliatissime. Ogni tanti si devo fare un livello un pochino più basso per far capire almeno un pochino agli altri che non sono italiani - giusto?
+Frankie Cooks giustissimo :)
mmbasil
Assassino.
Frankie next time just smash the Garlic with a hand or a knife and fry the eggplants inside the oil then add cherry tomatoes cutted in half
Not the original recipe
It is essential to fry the aubergine, this is not traditional pasta alla norma.
The point that i'm not getting is, why is he talking like a co-pilot with that annoyingly sexy voice ? He's just cooking pasta.
+merve korkmaz because I need everyone to stay onboard until we arrive at our destination.
:D now it makes sense
