26 years old and offered a job out there. Will be moving within the next 2 weeks for my next venture as ent manager! So excited but blessed to have found this channel!
I just found your channel. OMG, you are great. I just love the way you present. St. Maarten is on plan to become my 2nd home, however because of covid have not been able to return this year as yet. You provide so much transparent information. Uou and your associates genuinely have fun when you are sharing. And the guests seem very happy to assist you with answering any questions about the island that you share with your subscribers. And, last but not least. It is very evident that you are well liked and respected there; as is on display whenever you showcase a owner and their business . Kudos to you. I am a travel agent, so I must meet you on my upcoming trip there. Guess where I bought a place? 🤭You showcased it on your channel. And you are correct. Everyone there is a gem.
Oh my goodness this is a breath of fresh air. I always wanted to live in the Carribean, however, I can't get use to rodents. Glad she reported now I will find out how bad they are over there.
Great info I just scribed to your channel. I’m a firefighter and will be retiring in the next 8 years. My wife and I plan has always been to move to St. Maarten once we retire. So this info is exactly what we needed .
Thank you for making this video! Considering moving to SXM for medical school but would be bringing my family along (baby, husband, and 11 year old daughter) for 4-5 years. This content is so helpful when considering this because I would need info on actually living on the island- not the vacation experience.
Hi lovely lady! Great video. Many great points! Really everything you said is so true. It’s very true, living there and vacationing in SM are very different realities. It’s my favorite place in the World! But it’s different when you live on a budget. I lived there part time for 3 years with my boyfriend before Irma, we lost everything. He returned to the island 1.5 years later and I followed and things were getting back to normal and then Covid. No work. So he went back to France after 12 total years on island. We are waiting to see what this year will be like? We still hope to return but are waiting for better times. I have heard great things about Brightpath. Nice work!
@@STierAj When we lived in Cupecoy we paid $980 for a one bedroom/1 bathroom with nice views, utilities not included. When we lived in Nettle Baie, we paid €780 for a studio with utilities included. Groceries were just a little more expensive than the USA but that’s to be expected since it’s an island.
Thanks a lot. We are currently Canadians living in Canada and my mom told me she wants to relocate to St-Marteen. Then I also want to leave Canada and relocate with my children. Thanks a lot

Why did you select the Dutch side rather than that Dutch side, and why not another island country? What are the risks of hurricanes every year? How do people manage with do many high prices, and living without a car? And of course health services as we folks over 65 think about....
That’s a very broad question. It depends on the business. Watch the video with BrightPath that I did a little while ago and you can contact them about procedures and paperwork involved.
@@TheTravelingIslandGirl normally you must obtain residency first bright path is recommended from my end as well. Owning a property can be an advantage.
One thing I had in mind was customs and import taxes. If I were to ship some of my private equipment from Sweden to the island would I need to pay additional taxes and customs even tho it's within EU? EU rules says no but every shipping service I've checked so far says yes.
Great video. I'm looking to move there along with my international business one day. I'm from another northern European country so immigration process should be straightforward I'm assuming?
@@TheTravelingIslandGirl Yeah I'll be moving to the French side since I wouldn't need to apply for a visa. It appears that most parcels have to go through the dutch side tho.
Hello , might i ask you what is the procedure to get citizen of St Maarten , i live in the Netherlands for 5 years and half , and I can’t tolerate any more here plz hope to hear from you
Hello there👋🏽 How are you? I from Sint Maarten & im planning of moving back to home , what would i need to do to write in or what papers i would need ?
Unlike what most people think, I’m not all-knowing. I can answer most tourism related questions but this is out of my league. You’ll need to check with the immigration department, I guess
@@TheTravelingIslandGirl So I guess it's a matter of experiencing the differences! I figured since they were all cosmopolitan and Dutch there would be alot of similarities.

Excellent advice! Island life is very unique and not for everyone. But when it fits, it’s wonderful!
Loved your tour of Gran Case, very happy to see so much of it has recovered. Will be back in January. Thank you.
Thank you so much. Thinking of doing some more tour videos like that. Happy Travels and see you in January.

Oh man this sounds so sad. Living in the Caribbean is definitely different from vacationing here.
How much was your rent there? Are groceries expensive? Thanks

Great. One very important thing though, it’s St. Maarten or St. Martin. Never St. Marteen 😉

Haha! Yes, these 10 points are spot on for Moving to Puerto Rico, too. I suspect that is a list that most of the Caribbean islands have in common.
I'm reminded of a fun read "Don't Stop the Carnival"
I love my island
Me too!

How hard is it to start a business in st Maarten?
That’s a very broad question. It depends on the business. Watch the video with BrightPath that I did a little while ago and you can contact them about procedures and paperwork involved.

St. Maarten is duty free. Meaning there are no custom fees or import taxes. The shipping company charges their shipping fee and that’s it.
I just need to get out the states tbh
Love island time... Hurry up and wait!!!
Can I ask where you’re from?
Great video. I'm looking to move there along with my international business one day. I'm from another northern European country so immigration process should be straightforward I'm assuming?
Not necessarily and depending which part of the island you’re moving to, Dutch or French. The Dutch side for sure is complicated.
@@TheTravelingIslandGirl Yeah I'll be moving to the French side since I wouldn't need to apply for a visa. It appears that most parcels have to go through the dutch side tho.
I miss home😢❤ thanks for the videos. You forgot to mention Centipede 🤦♀️😬😬
You are most welcome
Are work to do in St Martin's
Thanks I love your video, I am American Citizen came I buy house? If so what do I need and came I stay in St martin?
Hi Marie. If continue watching the video you’ll see my interview with Vivian from BrightPath answers that exact question.
@@TheTravelingIslandGirl I change my mind, about moving to the Island. Miami Florida will be a better fit for me. Thank you.
I live away from where I was born, so how I go on with the police record???? +
Good question. I think the police record is from wherever you are currently residing.
Hi Hello , might i ask you what is the procedure to get citizen of St Maarten ,

I'm planning to work and moved into Sint Maarten. Will it be the right choice?

Hi Charlyn, I’m not the right person to ask this. I’m a travel content creator focusing on Caribbean tourism
I have a question my mom was born in st martin but she wasn’t fully raised she left at like 3 or 2 can I claim citizenship?😭

You can buy Sim cards at the Telem point in Simpson Bay or at the UTS office in Cole Bay

What is the difference between living on Sint Maarten and on Aruba and Curacao?
There are similarities between the islands but also big differences. You can’t really compare it, in my opinion
