As the law sits, you would have to do a background check for said frame if you wanted one unless they did something like the Sig 320 and P365 pistols where the fire control unit is removable from the grip module. It would be great, but would require a bit of a redesign and possible infringements on some patents. But I concur. I have the MR918 and want a bigger grip without buying a new gun.
I also own and love the MR920 Elite and also waiting patiently for a 43 type subcompact. I will buy two as soon as available. Excitedly hoping your considering production of a model like that.
I recently purchased the XR920. Yesterday was it's for range trip with various ammo 115 & 124 grain from Federal, Remington, Fiochi, and Blazer. 600 rounds, ZERO weapon malfunctions, and this firearm is a TACK Driver. Only issue I had was with a PMAG with a defective follower. Not a fan of the PMAG's and plan on exclusively utilizing Glock mags for EDC. Perfect match of frame & slide for daily use.
When is a good time for me to put down my deposit on the CR921S, which is the SSC single stack 9 MM designed around the 15-round Shield magazine? CR stands for Covert Role, of course.

I just bought the MR920L and love it. I did originally want the XR920 configuration but it wasn’t out at the time. I will be buying one this week. I wish Shadow Systems was out when I was in LE. I am very impressed with the company as a whole. Will be recommending to others.

You've got a long wait to go. Patents for the Glock 48/43 are still in effect for another decade. Everyone in the firearms industry has known for years that the conceal carry gun and subcompacts are by far the most popular guns (for good reason). They are not dumb. They just can't produce one yet, unless they come up with their own design.
@@deaconnyte9748 I live them. No they just drop in and you are good too go. I would say watch how deep the red timney trigger part goes down into the trigger housing. I have 7 triggers in different guns. The depth that piece sits down into the trigger housing does affect the trigger pull. I have a glock 19 gen 5 amd the timney trigger doesn’t work. Because that custom piece sits too low. You have to squeeze the trigger all the way back with pressure before the striker will release. Other than that they are amazing. You can leave them as is or polish the parts and the trigger will get even lighter. I love them but that is the only problem I have seen. The dimensions on the glock/shadow systems aren’t real tight on those housings. Even a couple millimeters of depth will affect the way the trigger works.
The part numbers are available at my distributors in FDE/BLK in stock. You can get the Elite and combat with or without the threaded barrel. So any dealer can order them.
I have a law enforcement background (having worked federal, state and local LE (before being disabled in the line of duty)). I haven’t yet jumped on the red dot bandwagon, but I do think there is usefulness in this setup beyond red dots and more maneuverability in tight quarters. I’m a smaller guy, and riding in a vehicle for hours, a pistol with a longer slide (in a mid ride duty holster) digs into the seat, making me sit wonky, messing up my back. So for LE use, I’d prefer a the XR920, Glock 45, Walther PDP Full Size 4”, Sig P320 XCarry, etc. something with a shorter slide/barrel, that’s not digging into your seat, but has a full grip, so you’re not sacrificing capacity. If you’re a smaller person in LE and can’t change your duty gun to something like this (due to department policy), get a high rise holster adapter and that should help. It may slow your draw time by a fraction of a second, but it’s also good for weapon retention in a crowd, pinching or resting your elbow on your gun while keeping both hands free.
I own both the MR920 and the DR920. I was able to combine the MR920 frame and the DR920 slide to configure a MR920L, but I was not able to combine the MR920 slide and the DR920 frame to configure a XR920. The DR920 frame is just a little too long in the slide area for the short MR920 slide. I wish that I had waited just a little longer to purchased the XR920 and the MR920L. Then I could have combined the MR920L and XR920 to create both the MR920 and the DR920. Three guns for the price of two is not bad, but four guns for the price of two is even better. And the combined price of the XR920 and the MR920L come in around the same price of most Zevs.
I am trying to decide whether to get the standard barrel or the threaded to get the extra barrel length. I would love to see a video comparing bullet velocity with each of the barrel lengths, using the same ammunition. Is there a measurable difference in velocity? Doubt I would ever shoot it suppressed. Also any thoughts on making a screw-on comp option for the threaded barrel? Keep up the great vids.
Are there aftermarket slides that fit this? I just ordered the XR920 Foundation, and already own MR920 which is awesome. I like buying the standard, base platform (no NOT glock, I have enough of them) and upgrading my firearm to my own taste. If I see another little window cut and a bronze barrel in a 9mm....good grief. I'm a machinist and will end up cutting my own slide and will be truly unique, but the point is I want options, and would think other people do too. Thanks if anyone has helpful input.

Me too, but I use glock 19X magazine with my MR920, and it is great. Never fell from the mag well while shooting or moving around tight places. 20 rounds is a good thing. Glock only brand 19X magazines may cost a bit more. But, I live in Plano, TX and visit Family in Houston.
It could be me, but the balance and feel of the 45/19X size is what I love about this design. I believe Glock essentially made their best gun for the US Military pistol contracts! However it happened, it just simply works. As a proud and very satisfied owner of the MR920 Elite, I will be purchasing the XR and the newly redesigned CR! Gorilla hands so this will be my first choice. Carry strong side owb anyway so this is right for me. Went to my local gunshop tonight, my buddy there said they got a large shipment of Shadows in. They had every model in stock and in abundance, but this one here was the only one not in the store ugh! I have 3 pistols with compact grips and only one, the Walther PDP allows for a full grip purchase. So I didn't settle soon as I see one in stock this will be my next firearm purchase.

I was wondering the same thing because I kept hearing the same thing. I put a couple mags through a Glock 45 and wasn't blown away. I thought the Glock 17 was the nicer shooter. I'm hoping my first impressions were wrong, I want to know the nicest shooting configuration 😩
How long are the barrels on the XR’s? Why is this not published on your website? When I look this up, I get 4”, 4.5” and 5.5”. But an XR with a 5.5” barrel is just a DR isn’t it? I’m confused.
Yeah I never really understood why people like this configuration so much but the reasons you gave seem valid enough but I would prefer the exact opposite config, long slide with a slightly shorter grip since for iwb it's easier to deal with the shorter grip poking out of your waistband plus you get the benefits of a longer barrel so that combo is a win-win in my book
I just picked up the XR920. I am wanting to order a custom holster from tier 1 for it. Is the slide the same as the MR920 or did they make changes that would make the XR920 require a special fit?
Hey! Any holster that would fit a MR 920 will also fit an XR 920. That basically means compatibility with holsters designed for Glock 19 and 19 X size handguns. So there are lots of options! Trevor

will half an inch make a difference in application? Running said XR for duty vs a DR, threaded or not, makes no difference in or around a vehicle. Or any barricade for that matter. If any one has ever been in an engagement inside of a vehicle or train it, .5” doesn’t make a damn difference in a gun fight. nor does sights or a red dot. either pistol is money. I can run a SBR in a vehicle and have the same enganement presentation with similar outcome. run a gun, in and out of a vehice and argue what might make a difference. holla at me if you want some feedback. shadow systems is a solid pistol. light and accurate AF. run it. gun it. you’ll be happy.

It’s Shadow Systems version of the Glock 45. Glock 17 frame with Glock 19 slide.

Minimal velocity difference. Just buy which pleases you more. Barrel length won't change anything for ya in that area
