My poor moon cactus got an infection a bit ago, and died off entirely. It was 7-8 years old. How do I stop infection from occurring in my plant? I think when I grafted, my moon cactus pup got infection from the un-sanitized counter, how would I get rid of that potential infection that sticks between the rootstock and the scion like my first grafting ended up? 😅
@michaelwilson7907 Thank you. I’ll do that. 🙂
My stalks are dead, acquired from someone throwing them out. Tops are good, how do I regraft. Assuming I need a good stalk.
If the top part cannot survive on it's own since it does not have chlorophyll, how does it survive in it's natural habitat? What is it's natural habitat?
Its genetically modified, so natrually they are green and produce clorophyll. They do not need to be grafted on to another plant to survive in the wild.
The purple and green ones are natural.
🤩🤩🤩
😍😍😍
Are moon cactus mutants of Gymnocalycium Mihanovichii?
Yes, you are right :)
Have one that the top was yellow . I thought it died . But recently started growing another root stock . But it is coming out on the side . How do I fix that .
I think its ok to just leave it on that side. And when it grow, graft it :)
one of my pups are growing on a red part but are yellow is this bad? also are the needles painful at all because I was hoping to graft it but i wasn't sure if i needed gloves
Hi, its fine actually. And to be safe, gloves or fnger caps will protect your fingers

Can an aloe plant serve as a root stock to a moon cactus??
No. Try dragon fruit root stock
What care should be taken for these plants?
It's the same as caring for regular cactus, except you need to graft when propagating :)
How do you graft it to other root?
Here's how : th-cam.com/video/D74akKPE_cE/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for watching
There are plenty of videos on the technic, and it’s very simple. And it usually survives 95% of the time.
Can u put more than 1 pup on
yes, I've done this in my older videos. One pup will grow faster while the other will grow slower because they are sharing resources
Te jade slang n kaau ka...hehe.
:)
My moon cactus is ugly, but cute at the same time.
Okay, saying that they can't live on their own was very helpful, I probably would've tried to propagate them in the future then fail because it cant survive on its own
If the scion is outgrown by the rootstock, could it be re-grafted onto the the same rootstock?
Yes it can as long as the rootstock is still healthy. Otherwise, its bet to graft on a new rootstock :)
My Moon Cactus..the base is dying and turning yellow..
You can still save it if you regraft both pups amd mother moom cactus

I do not understand this. How is it Mother Nature can grow these plants withOUT grafting??? Or is this yet again, something we humans have messed up? There is no grafting of plants in nature.
It is a mutant, it's like a special child that needs special care otherwise it will not survive :)

Moon cactus falls off??? How high were you while you were filming this joke?
Hi Neno Vuletic, thank you for watching! IF this is a joke for you, you might want to share your experience about moon cactus to us, we would love to hear it :)
@@succulentsforbeginners Ok, the green part of the moon cactus does not grow at all during the short period this plant is alive, and the bond between the two is strong there is no way that the grafted part will fall off. Take one in your hand and see for yourself.
@@nenovuletic5947 Thank you for your thoughts. I think you misunderstood the video. It will not fall off as what you think like holding the scion and rootstock to see if it will fall off. The scion will fall off overtime as the rootstock grows faster than the scion since the rootstock is normally fast grower than the scion, it will fall off for sure when the rootstock outgrows the scion. This is from our experience and research. Would like to know your thoughts on this part of their growth?
