A newspaper article led to 21 years of marriage // Person Vow Renewal

The Person love story began in the year 1990 in Marion Arkansas. Roger saw Erica's picture in a newspaper clipping and he was mesmerized by her beauty. Roger had to know who this angelic face belonged to, so he sought out to find anyone who knew her. Lucky for Roger, the phonebook became his best friend. There were only 3 people with the same last name as Erica. Therefore, he knew he had a 50/50 chance of possibly speaking to her. The first telephone conversation led to Erica hanging up on him because she had no idea who this "crazy dude" was. Roger was persistent. The cat & mouse games they played with each other finally wore Erica down. They eventually had many long conversations and became good friends. No matter where they were in life; they always kept in touch with each other. The passing of Erica's grandmother brought them even closer together. In September 1999 Roger popped the question and they married on February 25, 2000. They had a small quaint ceremony at Erica's parents' home. Today they celebrate their marriage with family and friends, reaffirming the commitment they made over 21 years ago. The first kiss was in May of 1993 at the Pizza Inn parking lot in West Memphis. Roger had just graduated high school that night, he was sitting in his car and Erica gave him big kiss on the lips. Roger thought he could sing. He would practice songs and sing them to Erica on the phone, but she was not impressed. Their relationship is full of laughs, they enjoy "checking" each other on the daily about any and everything. After 21 years of marriage, they are still learning and growing individually & collectively as a family.
