Shayla and Bryan met at Arkansas State through a mutual friend in 2014. They didn't speak much outside of their initial introduction even though they were at the same school. Bryan moved to Dallas in 2015 and they didn't talk for two years. He sent Shayla a DM in 2016 and they began communicating and visiting each other from Dallas to Jonesboro, AR. They bonded over a shared passion for serving their community and helping those less fortunate. After their first conversation, Bryan called his mother and told her that he was going to marry this woman. Obviously he was just joking at the time considering they didn't really know each other, but there was a connection there that Bryan knew would lead to something special. They would joke about how the stars would have to align perfectly for them to be together, given the 7 hour long distance relationship they were attempting. So the "Stars Aligning" has always been their Motto/Story.
