😄 Made some adobi Arabian mudbrick buildings using cardboard packaging from a wargames figure supplier 25 years ago, they're still being used and look the same as when I covered them with a paint mixed with acrylic wall crack filler and dry brushed with exactly those same paints for effect. Still some of my best scratch builds ever. Always great to reuse and use found objects for terrain. Nice work there.
Easy like, it looks very very good
This is incredible, and you've made it look so easy!
Dats some very high staris
They sure are :D
It's nice to see quality terrian builds with dirt cheap materials. I'm going to try this out with all these Amazon boxes that keep showing up at my door. The only thing I might try is to have the wood beams go all the way through both sodes of the structure to provide actual structure for the roof. That way of someone plops an all metal model like a dreadnought or giant, that it can hold up to the abuse. It might also prevent the beams from being knocked off the terrain peice as it is handled, abused, and tossed around. Thanks for the video!
That's a great idea actually, because after adding the glue the floor became quite bendy, I had to fix it to become straight again
Agree on all points. I also liked your idea of the wooden beams go all the way through. That has now made me thing of trying it & possibly having a removable roof! Thanks!
Nice 👍
Great video. First time watching your channel & it is very inspiring. Great choice of building too! Really enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing.
(Oh, really liked what you said about the "Agrax" & also making your own washes. Definitely the best way!)
Thank you very much, good to hear you've enjoyed it!
Yeah the new Agrax is really bad haha, idk what they were thinking
Sorry about your ink, have all been there.. Just a tip go to a craft store and pick up brown Calligraphy ink.. Just water it down with water or alcohol I use water. (Dr Ph Martin's Bombay India INK) is the brand I use.. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the tip, in a previous video I used some sepia calligraphy ink and it works really well indeed (and is also very cheap compared to miniature washes)
I'll try the brand you mentioned if I can find it in my country
Have made whole warhammer Ork settlements with this method. Well done. As a side note, using textured spackle as the top coat rather than the glue and sand method is faster and adds a layer of stiffness.
Thanks! I made a couple buildings with that method for a Tatooine board for Legion so I've done it before, it does give a great result with spackle indeed
I just wanted to try something else and make it as cheap as possible (idk if glue is that much cheaper, but sand can be found for free!)
This is Grate!
When I Go on to do this I will see if I can make a smaller ruined version inside it. So in combat, if the building gets destroyed for any reason I just need to lift the house and the ruins are already there!
That's a great idea, and when it's made from cardboard like this you can perfectly use the hollow inside for this purpose
This is f*in brilliant ...
Also: The beauty of desert buildings is: you can use them in basically any setting - they look good from dark ages through fantasy to modern battles and even as sci fi backdrop they do their job ...
Very good!
Glad to hear you like it :)
And it's true, it's a very versatile build that can be used in any kind of setting. Add a dome on top and some packaging stuff that looks sci-fi-ish and you're on Tatooine!
Que buenisimo
Wow very cool, i'm gonna give this one a try!
8:25 lol
Haha, don't you hate it when that happens 😅
Thanks for the video, really cool :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Awesome 👍 subscribed and looking forward to more 😊
Thank you! More videos are already in the works :)
I liked your process and the tutorial in general, very cool!
