I used to operate a 125 ton Komatsu excavator 14 yard bucket in NYC. My boss learned the benefit just like you did. The amount of work that machine could produce was mind-boggling. I could load 40-ton cat articulated dump trucks in 2 passes. I could pick and walk with 35-ton loads all day long. Anyway, love your channel. Love the fact that you found the benefits of Big iron.
Congratulations on the new Tiny 3!! She looks in great shape which means a solid purchase! Love seeing the D11’s at work. I know you’re just farmers but the D11’s always steal the show!! Impressive machines!!
Congrats Mates!.....Love the video's! U guys keep it real down under and show the world what it takes to make a family farm work by working together and sharing talents that make it all come together....Tiny 3 has new good new home as the newest "little" brother....God bless your efforts and family life..be safe, go plant something! Cheers!
I had the privilege of learning how to operate 1970s D8Ks as my first dozer and became quite good at fine grading before the company sold them off. I shed a tear. Treated them as my own. Always checked fluids filters and greased before I even thought about having a seat in it. Learned the correct way from guys with grey hair. I’m only 30. I can only dream of a day when the opportunity comes up to operate a D11 even for just one hour. I’m a fan of CAT and I’m bias because I grew up around construction companies that ran CAT with the only exception being Case backhoes which I find perfect acceptable for the simple fact I believe they have the best backhoe available and they were the inventors of the concept! Beautiful dozers. Well done. Enjoy every second of it for all of us!
Congratulations on tiny 3 looks like a sweet machine can't wait to see the bigger blade on tiny 3 but you have to do a drone video of all 3 working together before tiny 2 leaves on vacation 😂 great video as always matt stay safe
Wow! I'm impressed with the rig and the trailer some folks here have a gud idea how big the d11 is but trailer made the d11 look small! Certainly a unique trailer!!
So impressed with your productions…. Quality of content, your general, easy going but professional presentations are super informative but entertaining at the same time. Thank you so much.
Tiny 3 is my vote, worked with a D10 a which was the proto type for the 11 they are awesome machines was around a D11 and a 575 A super dozer in soft ground backfilling . The 11s worked rings around the Komatsu 575 in soft ground . Love to watch you all
Hello, my name is Peter, and I’m addicted to buying D11’s! Lol! Great purchase and forward thinking. Very cool setup for hauling it. Here in Canada 🇨🇦, they would have to take the blade off to keep the weight down and the width for the roads.
I operate a d11 T model tractor in the US on a surface coal mine. Of all the equipment I have operated over the years, including the cat 993K model loader, 992G loader. Konatdu 930 haulpak trucks. Even the Komatsu D575A super dozer. The cat D11 T is leaps and bounds far more powerful than any of the other behemoths caterpillar has to offer. The fact that you can square up with a boulder the size of a 2 story house and move it around with pretty much no effort at all. It’ll be hard to find anything that compares.
We build the 3508 engines for those in Lafayette Indiana. I just retired in Jan after building 3500 series engines for 30 years. They are great engines and great sounding! Best wishes on your businesses.
Haha that was the most brilliantly timed intro to the video, great work Matt Now we have to see 3 D11s pushing dirt, because like youtube demands it! And you cant get rid of tiny 2 cause who would pull the other 2 out when they get stuck lol As always I love the way you're straight up about the numbers on these machines, and seeing Pete standing beside it brings home how huge they are Love your work, keep it coming!
When he shut the Cat off he reved it before shutting it off, those turbos are still spinning at high speed revolution and now with the engine off they have no oil supply. That's how you wreck turbos - expensive way to "feel like a Man". Oil does 3 things inside a turbo; lubricates, cools, balances the roters on each side from exhaust to intake.
I enjoyed the long winded run down. Looks like the mighty metropolis of Gurley in the background, went through there on Saturday on the way north. Not many people collect D11s who aren’t miners but they are certainly working out for you. Jeff
Tiny 3 would be my choice. A D11 for each brother was my first thought 🙂.. really like the detail explanation of why ... will be a sad moment when Tiny 2 goes ... but maybe she''ll come home when Andrew has finished
I would just keep all 3! You guys will use them I'm sure. And with the parts availability problem, you would have ready service spares if needed. Anyhow, CONGRATS on the new D11!!!
Best thing about carting dozers (and tanks - the self propelled type), if you get stuck they have plenty of getup to pull your lorry out... Been there, done that... And there's something about 8 or 900 HP winding up that stirs the blood...
If you get the other one back, your gonna wanna call it tiny 2 again, so tiny 3 is awesome, man it looks like a clean machine, sounds awesome, very nice machine, look forward to seeing that monster in the dirt
It's always interesting (for me, at least) to hear the thinking behind a purchase. How does transport cost compare between a D9 and a D11? I think name it Tiny 3, keep the legacy of Tiny 2 alive.
Tiny 3 that way no confusion when identifying them , she’s a bloody beauty I’d love to own tonka toys like them , look forward to seeing more of your life on the land
Some thing I would like to suggest, not D11 related, is to suggest you look for a rock crusher so you can process some of the stone you pick up in your paddocks, for use on your farm tracks, more so in the softer spots, and also staging areas where you load trucks in the harvest season.
@@thejacksonbrothers Hi, we just picked on the worst bogs first, on the farm dad had, we got it to the point over a number of years that we could drive a road car from one end of the farm to the other, in most weather, that was 1970s, 80s, all the rocks were picked from the paddocks.
Im sure glad I wasn’t the guy that had to burn all that hard facing rod on the blade. I actually feel sorry for the guy stuck with that job! Congrats on Tiny three
Good explanation on what the plan is . Your friend is also part of this whole way of thinking as well because he does need a machine but he may not put as many hours on it . The only other thing that I would do is it every thing fits is swap over the platform and handrails as well when you swap the blade .
Well now Matt, would seem so completely logical to name the new 11 as Tiny 3 because, well because knowing your bunch from on here, well Tiny 4 is in the works already!! Keep those blades pushing full! -Bob...
Wow i have to as that was some delivery truck !! Didn’t think driver would be keen on leaving the hard road with that rig, but guess that’s just normal for where you are. It’s often the case that you can buy the bigger older machines cheaper than the more popular sizes. Half the price of a similar D9 has got to be worth it
Hi Matt Great video I thought you might be keeping all 3 so you have one each I thought Peter decsipion of the reasons why you brought them very informative you should keep the name tiny 3 keep up with the videos they are getting better all the time it still looks very wet around so hopefully you will have a good harvest
I seen another video recently of a gentleman driving a D 9 dozer recently for a little bit when he was visiting friends. After he got out of the dozer he made the comment that anyone who says money doesn't buy happiness doesn't know what they are talking about because that was fun running the big dozer. 😀😀😀
Hard to tell from the video but the undercarriage looks pretty good. How much life do you think it has in it, percentage-wise? I like the sound of the components being overhauled so recently. That’s golden. 👍
I watched a video by Drake of that MHH Titan. Just WILD to me that they use that rig on dirt roads! Love how ya Aussies haul iron! Congrats on the new piece of capital! You guys are certainly big timing! Cheers from California
Matt - I deffinitely would NEVER skip another video on the Tiny clan or other dozers. I liked the extra (long) details about the dozer story even though I've watched the previous videos. The new logo stickers are an excellent idea for each of the machines. Are you planning on adding the rails for the true patio effect? Just wondering - Are there refurbishment companies near you, btw? Not sure how much it would cost to put Tiny 1 or 2 thru such a program of refurb. Supposedly you do ride away with a like-new dozer at a fraction of the cost of a new machine. As always, it is great to hear Peter's thoughts and stories on the situation.
Call it Tiny 3. Keep Tiny 2 and hire it out (long term hire). Another income stream for you guys and retained ownership. Even if it's just for spare parts in the end.
Gday Matt, awesome videos mate. We have 5 11s plus running cattle operation. Family run. Anyway we discovered them for exact same reason as you. Less time consuming, get bigger projects done etc. currently setting ours up with 9m Tow behind bladeplows. Should be awesome for that. And just leave our 4 D9s for scrub pulling etc.
@@allenjessee8860 not at the moment, doing a lot of cattle work but when we start ploughing again I plan to start it up. Will definitely keep you posted.
From fuel, price service, transporting and speed of getting the project finished and in the terrain that I see on your property it doesn't look like much rock basically the only advantage of having a D11 with rippers. I'm really surprised y'all don't run quadtracks-Cat Challenger,Case STX450 etc with scraper pans. Way faster more efficient easy to move etc plus still can be used for farm use. If I was going to buy a dozer I personally think the D575 is more efficient easy to use and has a blade that carries overburden while pushing material

Hey Matt. Easiest way to decide what to call the new D11 is keep tiny 2, making the new one tiny 3, by the sound of it you need 3 anyway. 👍
Very lucky family to play with these machines, hopefully I will get to experience these machines with family at some point in my life

I have zero uses for a D11 dozer, but I wish I had 3 in the yard. Bad ass!
