      this video has good shots of the opening system but as the rope to the latch is quite loose it does look like a simple pull makes it open. Beats me how with many tons of weight on the door.
      Video also shows how the door swings and latches shut as the bucket is retracted beyond vertical.
      One machine has the door opened with a hydraulic cylinder.
      The one at 8:45 just has a little red rope that seems to work a latch at the side of the door!

    • @philiptreptow5983
      @philiptreptow5983 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      From what I have seen most will run an on board generator. So it will still technically have an ice but it will run significantly less. I want to say about 50% less and it will be running at the ideal rpm for power output and fuel consumption.

    • @mdf2mdf287
      @mdf2mdf287 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry, long reply but a few things that need to be thought about regarding your reply. How much will the amount of batteries weigh that are needed to operate a 623 thousand tonne dump truck vehicle safely......yes, you read that right, a 797F grosses out at 623,690 tonnes. Fifty percent of the weight of a EV passenger car is made up of its battery, even a hybrid battery makes up one fifth of the vehicle weight. This battery weight will add significantly to the colossal weight of the dump truck. In no way will the reduction in weight of the ICE to an ICE/Generator compensate for the extra battery weight. Does this also mean that due to the Hybrid dump trucks size and weight that payload will be reduced. BUT....the elephant in the room that most people are thinking.....what happens in the event of a thermal runaway.? Will the sites have enough water on tap to extinguish such a fire. Allowing it can take up to 30K litres to extinguish a passenger vehicle EV fire, as opposed to the 1k litres to extinguish the average ICE vehicle fire. Also will the pollution from this fire negate any ecological advantages the EV/'Hybrid 400 ton payload dump trucks saves throughout its lifespan. I do think the idea of introducing battery technology into these kind of environments is a fantasy, and when the EV community get behind improving ICE units and we all start pulling in the same direction to help the environment and its ecology. This will help us to move forward in a way that will allow life and its necessities to continue giving all living things on the planet the opportunity to adapt and survive. @@philiptreptow5983

      @@mdf2mdf287 I know Cat already has some fully electric equipment and then they have a “fast charger” generator that you move from machine to machine. I believe it attaches in some way that the machine is still functional while charging. I agree that battery technology has a long way to come especially in the heavy duty market but that being said if you have checked out Edison Motors they have built a prototype hybrid Semi and it is very functional. They moving to small scale production this year.
