cool beans. looks great. back in the 70's, I built a set of custom headers for a street modified I was drag racing but I didn't have access to a tig welder, I used oxy-acetylene torch.
Great job with the manifold . Having built a number of them myself I know how time consuming a job like this is. I really like the detail to wich you go with the video content.
Stoked for some ute content dude Make sure you update us on how you like those exhaust studs, building an L67 for my VS ute, could always spend more lol
Love your work man! Hoping you could help me with something. I'm just about to undertake a similar task and was wondering where you source your materials? Such as the sch 40 steam pipe aswell as stainless and ally. Everywhere I've looked so far for automotive stuff charge through the roof! "Performance car parts tax" hah. Thanks mate. Keep up the rad work!
Thanks bud! Most of the time I source my stuff from ECS engines, prices definitely have gone up over the 8-10 years I've been fabbing custom stuff that's for sure
Hay bro what type of header bolts should i get for my l67 think they r 5/16×18 . They will b used in conjunction with your gaskets when u get around to making summore...
Not these in particular, as they take way too long and would cost more than 99% of people would pay haha. But inline 4 cylinder are alot easier - so could do if you are serious?
@@boostedbuiltgarage im in mackay queensland haha. Glad to find some aussie stuff. Just subbed and keen to follow. Feel free to sus out my Instagram @egok1lr
@@boostedbuiltgarage how is it clearly not stainless? Ive welded plenty of stainless and alot of it looks just like carbon steel. I was just making an observation
Much cheaper than 304 stainless.. no purge required.. I don’t imagine an exhaust needs to be full pen either which is why you would just use mild steel. Thoughts from a boilermaker/pressure vessel welder.
Also, regardless of whether stainless or mild it would be ceramic coated, so why waste unnecessary money and time using stainless when they'll both look the same in the end🤷♂️
NICE Dude It looks like a Christmas decoration .

Good to see the ute getting some love 👍️
I enjoyed watching that. Your skills are solid.
Thanks bud👌
This is very convenient. Im looking in to doing this for my VS. Looks good. Keep it up. 👍

For those that dont know, that engine is the best engine ever!! 🤟🤟🤭🤭
DEATHSTROKE with the hec5000i v8
Yep
Manifold looks nice. I have no idea how this popped up on my recommendations... maybe the same interests in the v6.
Exactly that. We've been shooting videos about this car for many years now 😉
@@boostedbuiltgarage yeh same as us. We really should have posted more in the build side. Never thought about it. How has this project progressed?
I like it.......my brother👍👍👍👍
Nice work bud
Awesome work as always mate. Love your work! Super time consuming task, the old time lapse makes it appear otherwise🤣 keep it up man👌
Hell yeah this looks sick
Dude, your a beast and I love your work. Killing it!
Thanks bud🤙
Nice job mate - Where did you get the schedule 40 buttweld pieces from?
That's not a bad thing that the number 1 and number 3 tube lengths are such major difference
Sir do u have any videos on how to make that 3 pipe collector
Hey man I’ve been trying to find some elbows like those where did you get yours?
Stoked for some ute content dude
Make sure you update us on how you like those exhaust studs, building an L67 for my VS ute, could always spend more lol
I like the studs😉 so much better than bolts. Got probably 1tb of videos to edit man. Of the ute and the 4by
You should look at getting a mace main girdle for the Ute then turn up the boost
When I do a fully built bottom end for sure. I'll still be upping the boost until then😉
Sweet, I'm doing the same to my vq stato but it'll be a while before I can drive with the turbo (P plater) I've got a gt4294 waiting
love your work looks good
Sweet talent. 👍
Good work and good on you for leaving the guard on the grinder, always cringe when I see them being used without one 👍🏻
Haha probably the only person with one on a 4" grinder 😂 I reckon it's better cause it controls the spark direction
What current are you running on your tig mate, looks very hot. Tidy welds too
great work! keep it up!
What diameter but elbows do you use for manifolds andthe crossover? You mentioned 2” for gate but that was it, cheers
Manifolds are 40nb cross over is 50nb
Love your work man!

Hay carl what episode was it u did the baffled oil sump in ?
I never did one for this car? I did one for my foz
Perfect timing I’m about to turbo my vs, how much worse is fuel economy while driving normally around town mate?
With a turbo the fuel economy is better as long as your tune is good
How much to make a Toyota 2AaR turbo manifold
Hay bro what type of header bolts should i get for my l67 think they r 5/16×18 . They will b used in conjunction with your gaskets when u get around to making summore...
Yeah the L67 are smaller diameter 5/16 from memory. Up to you what length you get depends on what fits when installing manifolds etc
Nice 🤙🏼
Just hope you have enough room in the engine bay area for these
They fit😉
Was going to say that
Are you going to put a Barra in it?
Is that a joke or...?
@@boostedbuiltgarage yep how did you know 😂😂😂
What tungsten you use for welding these steel schedule 40 ?
2.4mm ceriated
Hey mate, could you link me to where you got the Allen key style bolts for the headers to engine?
Can't remember where I bought them. But just search for 5/8 UNC countersunk cap screw and you'll find something online or on eBay👍
@@boostedbuiltgarage thanks heaps mate
Those aeroflow flex joints step down a fair bit mate, its best to oversize them.
Yeah they do, you have to usually go the next size up
Looks awesome do you make these for people? Looking for one for a 4 cyl Datsun a series

Thanks mate, in Sydney

Siiiiiick, can i ask why you didnt purge it?
Not necessary with mild steel. Back purging stops 'sugaring' on inside of pipe with stainless which is the most common cause of cracking
Ah yep, i must've missed the bit about it being mild steel steam pipe, my bad 😂
Are you going to ceramic coat them ? You have spent that dough you may as well for improved heat retention. Ceramic coating is better than wraps
How come you didnt purge? Just wondering
Cause you don't need to with mild steel/couldn't be bothered either lol
Makes sense. Great job mate 👌🏽
If that's stainless pipe it should be purged with argon before welding. Otherwise the welds will start to break from the inside out.
No shit... It's clearly not stainless though. And p.s. it should be purged while welding not just before😉
@@boostedbuiltgarage how is it clearly not stainless? Ive welded plenty of stainless and alot of it looks just like carbon steel. I was just making an observation
Correction: i didn't hear the " mild steel" part
Hey mate, where do you get the bends from ?
Lots of places but usually ECS engines
O
What work boots are they? Oliver's?
FXD
I’ve been wearing a pair of these for about 6mths now, comfiest boots I’ve ever had
I liked the look of them, but the comfort and durability wasn't as good as my all time favorites (which I'm back using now) Ascent Alpha II's
@@boostedbuiltgarage oh true righto. I had blue steels and have mongrels now they seem alright.
Link to were you got parts/tube?please
I source stuff from all different places but tube, bends n vbands I use ECS engines

unc is fine thread?
UNC is course hence the 'c', UNF is fine
