2:00 I love this moment. Such a mature way of handling that question to simply say that the critics have a job to do, and they do it. And then for him to still stick to his guns and say that he doesn't believe he's done anything wrong is so impressive. Great interview.

He's so humble and so kind, considering he had an element of shyness about him. He was probably a bit uncomfortable with interviews, but was nice enough to do them.

What an utterly charming man Elvis is. You can't help but love the guy. And looks? As good-looking as any movie star ever. I wasn't an Elvis kid -- I was all about the Beatles and jazz. But now I appreciate him so much.

I think you should see it from the perspective of a 50s citizen. His style of singing was totally new and standarts of good singing were very different. Nobody could decide who a good rock singer had been or who hadn't.

ELVIS was a Mega ⭐ he was very humble
He was only 21, in this July 1956 interview.
He once said that his fame came very fast,
all at once. No other 21 year old, had such
a enormous popularity and magnitude of
a career, that he achieved in his 23 year
career. Still, 45 Years later after his passing,
NO ONE. His legacy will live on to Eternity.

I was only 10 yrs old when Elvis passed. I remember all of the family in front of the TV listening to the news. Then our momma was crying uncontrollably. It was such a heavy & sad time. I remember feeling so sad for his daughter who was a year younger than me. I remember thinking how sad she must have been & that made me sad. Elvis is truly an icon. Now, Lisa Marie is gone as well. It brings up a lot of sad emotions. RIP 🕊️

He was tired because everything happened so fast and he was so much about pleasing fan's and the people who worked with him. He wasn't doing anything wrong he learned his move's in the neighborhood he grew up in, he said himself he was raised in a pretty good home. Glady's loved her son so much she actually told him what to do and he listened. Elvis respected his parent's, especially his mother and I don't think he would do anything that didn't please her. He was a gentleman at home and with his fan's, he was just really special and we all still love him.

Who still effect the AMERICAN PPL LIKE ELVIS DOES.....you can't cuz there ISN'T ANYONE LIKE ELVIS!!!! EVERYONE has they're own opinion about Elvis.....some might be bad...... but THANK GOD 99.99% OF IT IS ALL GOOD....AND THE 1% is ur comment tht no one really thinks about or worries about.........NO one can JUDGE ANYONE only God has tht power. Until a person has walked in someone's shoes.....I DON'T THINK ANYONE TRULY KNOWS WHAT IT'S LIKE LIVING SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE!!!! SO THERE FOR I THINK IT'S A SHAME!!!! HOW PPL CAN PUT SOMEONE DOWN..... AND NOT KNOW ANYTHING!!!! ABOUT THE PERSON THEY'RE PUTTING DOWN!!!!! PPL ONLY KNOW WHAT THEY SEE ON THE OUTSIDE.....Life as we know it is coming to an END FAST.....and it's sad we still hvnt learned....how to be CIVIL with one another as God intended us to BE. Of that he was ten times harder on him self than anyone else in his short life..all his life he was a searcher.. searching for meaning that he just could not find the answer and that's why him....he asked this over and over again..but I think he handled fame fortune better than anyone superstar before and after his time..hope one day somene does book about on how great he was at giving to others than receiving..he was legendary giver..if that makes any since...

    Hello from England
ELVIS died 2 days before my 12th birthday. I have been a FAN "ever since OH MY.
Having watched lots of videos about ELVIS and his "backstory" they have made me think so much more of the years that have passed - even the live shows 50 +
When you consider the influence he had, the size and magnitude of STARDOM that he had by the time he was 23 he was "forced" into the "isolation" by nature of his FAME even then. By 1969 and at the end he had to be surrounded all the time and be taken place to place by car. Then when he had the Lisa Marie the only difference was he was able to get to shows quicker.
Elvis had his group of trusted friends, the "memphis mafia" who were very important to him because they would protect him from getting hurt, or stop him from getting into situations he could not get out of. If he was stopped somewhere by fans or the like and made him late and he pulled away then the Fans could not get close and therefore it may have been detrimental.
ELVIS was sublimely an "ICON" for the times

This is such an interesting video! Elvis hated performing in the tux and being told not to dance; despite all the hate from the news and reporters he never let it stop him from performing in such a revolutionary way. he really seemed like a passionate guy and it's a shame how tragically it all ended, but his impact on the world is lasting.

So polite; such a gentleman to everyone man or woman. I loved his interview and the way he speaks. He is young here at 21 years old so his innocence to a lot of stuff shows. He is not silly by any means but I remember when I was 21. It is a young age to get all the fame and publicity and how to handle all that must have been hard especially when you come from nothing or very little. Great video.

You know. Hes only 21. Brought up dirt poor. Extreme basic education.
Yet he carries himself with such maturity and integrity. Wise beyond his years.
The name " Elvis " is Welsh. Its origin means , " All Wise "

The name Elvis is Latin for the Irish name Ailbe. St. Alibe was an Irish Christian monk that brought Christ to the Welsh. Ailbe means "white".

As someone with terrible insomnia I am so sympathetic to Elvis in this interview. He was so tired he was about to drop. People judge him for finally taking amphetamines but I bet he just couldn't keep up. He was supporting so many people family and friends. Exhausted and then tormented by insomnia. Poor dude.

So dont forget, you dont watch these videos alone, at least 40.000 people feel with you, so cheers to all the people who watch elvis on youtube by themselfs, youre not alone : ))

This interview of Elvis makes me sad actually. He comes across as though he's extremely tired almost to the point of exhaustion (has very dark circles and puffiness like little bags right under his eyes) and just not happy and this was when he was just starting out his career in his youth until his tragic death at 42! Just the fact he says he can't sleep but for 4-5 hours and then saying it all happened so fast ... it's like it was all in a daze for him because of the grooling schedule the Col. had him do non-stop at such a young age. He missed a lot of his teenage years because of wanting to become famous. Sooner or later all of it catches up with you and then it's too late. His death in his early mids is no shock considering his lifestyle and being as famous as he'd become. Elvis is an exhilarating inspirational story but also a very sad tragic one with many lessons to be learned from it for upcoming young people who wish to become just as famous as the King was. Wonderful interview of Elvis! What a treasure to have on film! So very rare indeed. R.I.P. ~ E.A.P. You will always be the King of our hearts

Some of the questions are frankly ludicrous, however, Elvis’s answers were polite and direct. At this time, he was a unique, exciting talent, whose voice was instantly recognisable. Elvis must have been bored and somewhat indignant about the stupidity of the questions, but nevertheless, he answered each one with good grace.

    • @SkyKingofMaricopa
      @SkyKingofMaricopa 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yeah, but Elvis doesn't really answer two questions clearly: the one about shooting his mother and, I believe, the one about marijuana. It always baffled me why he didn't come right out and deny both stories.
