- Today we conclude the 3.6 LFX intake/injector project. This video shows how to reinstall the upper intake manifold and button everything under the hood up on the 2012 through 2016 W-Body Impala 3.6 LFX V6 engine. (12-13 Impala and 14-16 Impala Limited.)

That wraps up the long-awaited intake project! All in all, it wasn't that difficult of a project. The biggest PITA was removing and reinstalling the fuel injector retaining clips. Otherwise everything else was very straightforward.

Very helpful. I'm looking at removing and cleaning injectors on a '13 Caddy XTS, same motor. Replace plugs and coils at the same time. If valves are carboned can do them as well.
There's a tool for removing and installing that injector retainer clip - wonder if that would make it easier.
It definitely would make it easier! The tool costs $300 new from freedomracing.com tho ☹️.
Great videos I the same Impala so I'm glad I know how to do it now mines got 58k your valves looked good so I won't bother for a while but it's good to know how just incase thanks!
Thanks! I was surprised at how clean the valves were myself. At the very least, it's extremely easy to remove the upper intake to take a peek at the valves and see what condition they're in.

I can never find videos on a 2017 Impala 3.6l LFX
Check out @theclayway He has some 10th Gen Impala videos pertaining to the engine..
Now I am curious if the upper plenum on the Impala 3.6 lfx will fit on the terrain 3.6lfx? they are drastically different in airflow tuning my newly acquired 2013 terrain and it seems like I'm already running out of air.🤔
All LFX plenums interchange with each other, so it will fit the engine no problem. Whether the Impala's plenum fits properly under the hood of the Terrain is the question that needs to be answered..
@@CertifiedShadetree yeah I was also wondering if it would fit underneath, and side would the throttle body be on the Terrain is pointed toward the passenger side right side the Impala is on the left side driver side. Wonder if the lower intake would need to be flipped around.
@@keithbartlett7679 The 10th Gen Impala's might work, the TB is on the passenger side. Everything on the lower intake is symmetrical, so you could flip the upper intake around without issue..

Did yu have your injectors programmed before they mailed them to you?
All of the "programming" so to speak is handled by the PCM, so the short answer is no...
You ever have a problem with rpm jumping up when its downshifting

Idk what that intake is, it sure don't look like the intake I have on my 2016 impala 3.6l the throttle body and tps it on the left side next to the firewall.
This is a 9th Generation Impala. The title says 2012-2016 because the 9th Gen was sold as the Impala Limited from 2014 thru 2016..

Why cant we all be so fortunate to replace parts and start back up i replaced my fuel injectors and my acadia wouldnt start now i got codes for missfire on 3 fps on rail throttle body ciruit high catalytic converter bank 1 like wtf did i do to deserve this all i did is replace injectors
Sounds like one of the injectors is stuck open. I'd check the one on the cylinder that's reporting a misfire. Swap one of the old ones back onto that cylinder and see if the misfire goes away..
