A great review. The Passat Alltrack is a seriously underrated car and deserves to sell in far greater volumes than it currently does.

Thanks Shane and 100% agree on the Passat being underrated!

I have the 2018 Wolfsburg Diesel version and love it. Handles serious mud even on 19" road tyres.

Do you agree that the Passat Alltrack is the best car VW currently makes? Comment below. Here's the written article: www.whichcar.com.au/reviews/2021-volkswagen-passat-162tsi-alltrack-premium-review

Why has no one done a review of the VW Passat Alltrack Premium in the dirt?

Owned Passat wagons since B5.5, currently on (and about to get out of) 2018 bi-tdi. Ruddy great cars…until the warranty is out. Not sure when VW lost their way, but I reckon the B6 3.2 was the best. My current one might have all the toys, but at 114,000km’s it’s suffering multiple sensor failures, and each time ONE goes out it takes out every other system. Nice while new, and not sure what I’m replacing it with….but it’s become a fashion accessory and one to be replaced every 3 years

Hmmmm... This or a Skoda Superb Scout, Alex?

Thanks Degan. And that's a tough one. Both are excellent. I'd take whichever has the better deal and actually has stock, although I do have a soft spot for Skodas...

I bought a Skoda Superb Sportline wagon just on 4 years ago with the 206kw engine. Absolutely the best car I’ve owned! Prior to this I had a Mercedes GLC250. I’m sure this Passat & Superb have come up a level or 2 since then. Having said that, I wouldn’t trade mine just for LCD screens. The carrying capacity is unbelievable! I went with the Skoda because I got a much, much better deal than I could with VW at that time. Either way I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

    so, couple of things
first off, that funny two circle thing, thats not a for a coat hanger
that is where on of the party peices of the passat locks in (and something not touched on, which really is a shame, and yet another big tick in favor of this car)
that is where the rear divider attaches (it can attach to the back of the seat when folded, and create a really safe and niffty cargo barrier!!!)
this really is far from a detailed review, (something becoming common for these wheels videos) we are here for the content please, provide it! (you are getting more detail from something like car wow on thier "overview" videos

honestly while i get it is (kinda) a new thing for wheels, they really have been (imo) missing the mark more and more

Hey Jeremy, you're correct! The rear divider is super useful and necessary if you're making full use of that huge luggage bay. Thanks for pointing it out. It's also where I tend to hook in a coat hanger if I need a jacket or spare shirt, which is why I mentioned it. And thanks for the other feedback too. What additional detail would you like me to include in future reviews?

@@alexinwood2723 i think the big thing is details that are important when you are looking at cars, the sort of thing that goes beyond the 5 minutes with a sales person,
using this review as an example and touch stone
using the passat review as an example where i think there are details lacking
      prices etc, all fine,
height of the car mentioned, and that it sits between a wagen and an SUV, could have mentioned that clearance (173mm) and that it is pretty close to the same the new crop of small/mid SUV's ( kia seltos is 177mm for example)
what i dont know is how that extra height helps other than being a little more capable on unsealed roads
do i get the benefits of easier to into and out of, with kids, is that height nicer if they are in a booster or seat? am i able to see more (classic reasons people are buying suvs)
that same issue happens with the lights cool, led and matrix
but are they any good around town do you feel they are lacking or better than most?
what are they like on a dark highway (i know sometimes with signs, they can be over bright for a little until the system works out they are a sign and adjusts)
on the boot, the divider and cargo blind should imo have had a shout out, and im guessing thats the sub woofer in the spare, thats neat right? parking sensors in the bumper. no mention of why they are there if there is a 360 camera (something i dont know, but im guessing it is part of the sensor pack that does other things like cross traffic, and still gives an audibled warning
how is the centre console? is it an adjustable arm rest like in the older passat? the low sills, still good for resting your arm on window up, cruising along?
no mention of the privacy glass (the tinting for all the windows aft the b pillar)
nothing about the colours you can get either
