This is why young players shouldn't try to emulate how Steph plays. You can try all you want but you'll just end up looking like a clown if you don't have the shot-making skills to go with it.
People also understand steph playmaking ability. The nonstop movement on offense. All the motions and screens is what made steph unguardable and what made the warriors offense great. Jordan Poole is just a shooter and nothing more. Can’t emulate what Steph does. Can’t build an offense around dudes who just shoot and nothing more. That’s why Klay has always been a 2nd or 3rd, despite his shooting prowess.

i feel like he just needs more somewhat contested shot training. Since these looks are honestly decent. They arent "bad" looks like they were from the start of his trade. His shot iq is slowly getting better but obviously he has horrible defense and playmaking. Once those shots look like good looks from him he will be much more well rounded. A lot of those shots I saw him take during the middle of your video are shots curry and klay make all the time. Yes he isnt curry or klay but my point is that if you are consistent in those shots they turn into decent or good looks.

Weather it was dribbling off his foot or a boneheaded pass he would cause a turnover at the worst moment. Terrible decision making, suspect shot selection and lack of teamwork were all part of Poole's M.O. As the season came to an end I remember saying "Poole has to go!"

Numbers are improving. But a lot of those shots still looked forced and ill advised and made them out of pure luck. A lot of those shots could have been another compilation of low lights. He needs to improve his decision making skills.

So good for him. I still think this is what his team mates want him to stop doing. He is no Steph. Kerr sajd the same thing about Curry : Numbers don't lie. That's why Steph has the green light. JP can hit a contested three he can hit off balance shots and can hit half court shots. moving to a whole different team and playing a whole different position with all these expectations on you can make the game feel different especially when you’re young with a big head like that because your talent. if he gets comfortable, he’ll be splashing those shots you’re calling bad like he has been recently. i think you’re overlooking how talented he is. he isn’t just chucking up the ball hoping to do something cool. he obviously works on these and there’s no way they’d have him on the floor so often this whole season if he was fully ass in practice. they obviously know what he’s capable of
