Here is the theory of why the glitch works. Setting it to realistic mode makes the train go faster. When You Switch it back to easy, it will not reset the speed counter so if you spam it, it will increase the speed a lot.
You know, I made this route just like you but much more better! My route was inspired from Train Simulator - Cliff Jump route and Jet Train route (I make route in Trainz not TS). PS - Trainz don't have jet train like Train Simulator but it have some trick to rich over 500 MPH.
Pretty much you just have to do what I did and have the quick drive opened up and spam tap between the easy mode and realistic mode. This works on steam engines.

Do you own any of the new Trainz games on PC? If so you can use the content manger to search and filer out content. Otherwise your next best bet is the Trainz download station on the official Trainz website.
