Ayyy! We can’t wait for you to explore the blue ridge parkway, it is absolutely amazing!! To be on a road for that long without a stop sign or traffic light is amazing, and the viewpoints are unlike anything we’ve seen before! Enjoy hanging out with us for almost a half hour, this is still one of my favorite videos we’ve created!! -Cody
This is a great trip to do. When my wife and I first met before we were married maybe 2 months into dating we did a 3 day trip along the full length of the Blue Ridge. Now we are waiting to get an Esprinter once they have an AWD version that gets over 200-250 miles to a charge at 60mph so we can travel the whole country together. 🙂 One of the worst things about the Blue Ridge are the random closures of different pieces of the road. It happens a lot more during the winter months for sure. We usually drive up from Charlotte to Marion, NC because there is a Ford dealership with 2 free DCFC and then we go up to Mount Mitchell from there and then over to Boone and back down to Charlotte. We have been to the top of Mount Mitchell at least a dozen times and Boone has a great cookie place called appalachia cookie company, they have a great vegan option called the Yusef. Just a heads up. :-) Awesome video by the way, hopefully y'all can finish the trip soon.
Wow that is amazing!! Thank you for watching and sharing your story with us! We would absolutely LOVE to have an electric Sprinter! To be honest, I didn't even know they were in the works but that will be amazing! We were SO bummed that we couldn't go to the top of Mount Mitchell because I forgot to gas up before we left Boone that morning but we know that we have to finish the Blue Ridge Parkway someday so we'll probably go from Boone until the end of it! Also, great tip on the Appalachia Cookie Company, you know the way to our hearts lol! Thanks again for watching and leaving this comment, we truly appreciate your support and hope to talk to you in the comments of future videos! -Cody
@@CodyandJillian Of course! Y'all make some great videos it seems. My wife and I are super excited to get a van. We do a lot of day trips in the Carolinas, but after taking a 5700 mile cross country trip in our little chevy bolt hatchback and sleeping a few nights in the car we knew we had to get a van to adventure in. Mercedes put a video out of a test run with the 2024 Esprinter going from las vegas to long beach "The All-New eSprinter Efficiency Road Trip." 275 miles with 6% battery remaining but they only offer a RWD version so far, we definitely want AWD. Then we want to do a triple layer solar array on the top so when we are parked we can just recharge like the youtube channel "route del sol." Going to try to hit all 48 states with just free public chargers and the sun. Things happen, luckily y'all get to try again another day. When y'all try the run from Boone again make your order for cookies ahead of time if you do get any. We usually order 30 minutes ahead because they always have a wait due to how dang diddly good they are. :-)
I'm from Nc. Born and raised. I travel the blue ridge parkway often. To me the most beautiful drive of all time. I wish ya'll could have took the drive up to Grandfather mountain and walk across the mile high swinging bridge. Also there is a hike that you can take down under the linn cove viaduct. Also craggy has a awesome view from the top also Mt. Mitchell is off the blue ridge parkway. The tallest mountain east of the Mississippi. Mount Criag. The second tallest mountain east of the Mississippi. So much to see on the blue ridge parkway. So much hiking and waterfalls. I wish you guys could have finished the drive
SO sorry we somehow missed this comment!! The Blue Ridge Parkway has absolutely been one of our favorite stretches of road so far on this road trip! With all of your suggestions, it's making us want to go back!! We are going to have to finish this drive someday(that's just how my brain works) so we are going to add your suggestions to our roadmap. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave us with all this great info, hope to talk to you in the comments of future videos! -Cody
It was so amazing those first couple of days! We were really thinking we’d be stuck in traffic because of it but we’re pleasantly surprised to find that wasn’t the case! Thanks for watching, love you too! -Cody
Great scenery, pity about getting a cold. Best to never go under a quarter tank of fuel, especially with diesel, don’t want to pick up muck in bottom of the tank.
Thank you so much for watching! Yeah between the cold at night, worrying about our tanks freezing, and us getting COVID… we were bummed to not be able to finish it but we will some day! I rarely let our tank go under 1/4 but we forgot to fuel up that morning and then everything was so far away from that part of the Blue Ridge Parkway! Hope to talk to you in the comments of future videos! -Cody
OMG! I'm doing this next month! Can't wait to binge this episode!
