Absolutely the best way to re-heat pizza. We bring our air fryer camping enough that I've bought a new one for the house and that way I can leave on in the camper all summer.

We removed our RV stove and used that space for our Breville Air Fryer Oven. Love it and wouldn't go back to using a propane stove ever. For a cooktop we use an induction cooktop. Both are on separate breakers.

Thanks for another great video! I compared size and wattage when shopping for our air fryer. I ended up with a Corsori 1500 watt for our camper. Low enough watts so not to stress our 2000 watt generator to much. I totally agree with the square basket.

Great presentation with lots of good information. I love to use mine for reheating pizza & fried chicken. And it's great for cooking big yams. We have two. One for home, similar to yours, & one, with manual controls for our RV. When available, I connect extension cord to power pedestal 20 amp receptacle & route to my outdoor camping table, where I have a gas camp stove too.

Hey Chris! Sorry I'm a little late to comment. I usually watch your videos on android TV, and I can't comment through the that app. First of all, pork chops in the air fryer are easy, quick clean up and taste AMAZING!!! I usually set it at 400 for about 14-16 minutes, depending upon whether or not I am also adding french fries in the basket, which is pretty frequent. I keep a pork/chicken spice blend (salt, pepper, paprika, garlic and onion) pre-mixed and ready to go at all times! 😋
I had the Breville oven style convection unit. It was great for heating, reheating and broiling, but those units don't crispin foods like the basket style air-fryers do. Sure, the convection method shortens the cooking time but the style and shape of the cooking area didn't make things crispy. I actually gave it away and was hesitant to try an air fryer, since it basically is a convection cooker too. Your videos finally convinced me to try the basket style one and I couldn't be happier with the results. I use it all the time! Whichever way you go, thanks for posting these videos. They've helped keep me motivated and excited to hit the road! 🙏

VERY well presented & explained. The explanation of the electrical circuit limits is spot on. I've explained this numerous times to people and advised to carry a short extension cord.Several years back I bought the oven top looking type not understanding how the basket type could work. As you stated it takes up a lot of real estate. Since we don't use hookups too often we only use it in the ORV a few times. 90% of the time you'll see this old goat out BBQ-n or my smoker 'rolling coal'. Fire Dept or camp host has shown up a few times.

@@IreneIronTravelsI have a Traeger Scout from Costco and the size is great, but I’ve had problems with back burn through the auger and into the hopper. After trying to resolve the problem with Traeger to no avail, I’ve decided to return the grill.
I believe the problem is the auger and fire pot are too close. Even vacuuming the ash from fire pot before each use made no difference.
I’m sure you’ll do plenty of research on your own, but just thought I’d give you a heads up on my experience.

I have both styles, the oven style and the basket style and I have to say my basket style cooks better. I’m not sure because it’s more contained but it’s more evenly and my food is not dry and it’s a little faster. I feel like I wasted money on my oven style as I just bought it this year but I’ve had my basket style for two years already.

Our RV came with a microwave that also has convection oven. It's my understanding that the convection oven can be used just like an air fryer. I just found a metel rack for it (our RV was used, and the metal rack was missing), and all I've made so far is a piece of toast. So, if anyone has experience comparing the microwave with convection oven option vs a stand alone air fryer (or instant pot air fryer), feel free to share! Thanks :)

We had convention micro in our van, but it didnt really seem like it could do the same as an air fryer. But, I get the point where a convection uses heat and air..similar to an air fryer. Would love to hear more from others that have used it more too! 😊🦃

I have a convection oven / microwave in mine. I LOVE it. I can cook a frozen pizza in it, I can even bake cookies in it (I bought the tube of dough, didn't make them from scratch). The one problem I have is that it's very complicated to use. I had to print out a copy of the owner's manual and read that every time I want to use the convection oven, because otherwise it's too hard to get the settings correct. Another dish I cook are "pinwheels", where you take crescent roll dough, spread sausage meat on it, roll it up, slice it, and bake it. Normally around 25 minutes at 375 in a regular oven. I've made those several times with great success in my convection oven. I have NOT done any cooking that takes a long time (turkeys, roasts, etc) and can't comment on how it handles those.

I have enjoyed your videos. I have been especially captured by the power videos, LiFePO4 batteries and solar. Now here is my question. What about water? More specifically waste water? My wife and I are mid 60's. Washing dishes alone is enough to fill one gray water tank in 3 days. I don't want to even think about the bathroom gray water tank or the black water tank. When you are boon docking for an extended period of time, how do you handle the fresh and waste water?

I’ve got a micro/convection/air fryer. It’s a small counter top version that we replaced our microwave with. The downside is it gets too hot, when in use, when it is in the spot the microwave was. So we are trying to figure out where to place a small fan to help keep the cabinet cool. Would it be best to suck the hot air out or blow cool air around it?

    • @IreneIronTravels

Oh yes, it would be really nice to have the microwaves in RV's replaced with all in one Air fryers! Might be best to vent the hot air out by placing the fan outwards...maybe?? Hopefully some others reading this will chime in! 🦃😊

Why not just replace the microwave with a convection microwave oven? Air Fryer is just a marketing name for convection oven. They both do the exact same thing; blow hot air around the food to cook it faster and more evenly. I'd actually propose that a convection oven will do it better than an air fryer. Then you have a bigger cooking capacity for things you want "air fried," without taking up valuable counter and storage space. You can also bake a cake or caserole in the convection oven. This gives you something to bake in when you are getting free electricity instead of using the propane you have to pay for.
