Really fell in love with these elastics! Absolutely awesome! Fishing for small carp en F1's in this time of the year (on 0.10 hooklengths) the pink #9 does the job fantastic! Found the #11 a bit too strong for this purpose. Gonna change all my Hollo's to these new Dura Slips. Thnx for the video Joe! Exactly the information I needed 👍😁
Bought some 7 when I was at Stafford Moor a couple of weeks ago after a random elastic breaking. Now changing all my tops over to it, seriously impressive.
After using it for the first time last week, I am now starting to move all my elastics over to this stuff from slik, it’s not just the price, it is very good, but like someone else said, please keep it at that price. Thanks joe
Nice one Joe - Most poles come with 7 top kits - so your dura slip selection for winter for 7 tops and what would be your switch to summer. 7tops.. Jamie hughes did one for MAP elastic which was good he had roughly two grades for winter a light and heavy and in the summer the Heavy winter became LIGHT for the summer and another strength was chosen for the heavy summer. Trust me it sounded simple in his video and it is what i followed. So for me to re do my top kits 7 - ie for summer I probably have the red as my my margin in one kit the other 6 ? . Any light you can throw on this would be great - I fish commercials
Great personal touch to all Joe's vids which is why we love him. Just a quick question as I may have missed it but in this vid' are they all short kits can't tell what he holding. Many thanks.
Hi Joe hope your well started using this to replace my slik but already noticed a slight degregation in the 9 slip but just taken this as normal like slik and Nick Gilbert version that they don't last as long as hollow sort of every 4/6 months which is ok when you taken into account of the price
@@MatchFishingFilms that's good to know but after having a elastic in the past go in a match I never take a chance lol as the equivalent price in groundbait goes in most matches in summer I'd sooner not take the risk just me being anal but i like to have 💯 trust just a confidence thing I guess
Just watching back old video and thought I'd update you took your advice and have tried snapping the elastic before a match and it's never let me down the 9/11 have worked perfectly before lock down helping me to a few section and open wins and fingers crossed next week my local partridge and blundells will be open and can use it some more 🎣🐟
I know this is quite old, I'm 59,just got back into it after a 20 year break, when I fished commercials back in the day, woodlands at Thirsk was brand new, basically we cut our top kits back and shot a 20 elastic in, things have changed a lot since then and elastic choice is baffling, I only get out a dozen times a year if that, I have 4 top kits, if I use 11 and 13 will that cover me, I was using a 9 last week really enjoying f1s decent sized ide, rudd roach tench even a couple of barbell, then got smashed up by a proper carp, stust striped the elastic out and broke the hook length, I know you might say you just have to take it on the chin at these venues, but if I up the elastic, will the mixed species fishing still be enjoyable, do you get me 😂
Great that you are back fishing 👍👍👍 that's the only problem in the summer, those carp sometimes shoot off. But sometimes they behave nicely even on lighter stuff. A light hollo like 9h or 8 dura hollo can be a good option as they just stretch forever
My 9 duro slip stretched forever till the hook length snapped, I was going to ask the bloke on the far bank to try and land it for me 🤣 no problem with the elastic, if I change to an 11 will I still be OK on the rudd and roach and stuff, bare in mind I only pleasure fish, I did fancy match fishing, back in the day I was no slouch, I thought I'd come back and smash all the big boys up 🤣 then I watched a few TH-cam vids seen how slick they all were, then went for the first time myself and realised I can't even fish at 11 meters, can't feed with a catapult, we live on memories don't we 😂
Sorry Joe I did type joe ? Anyways thanks pal. I was just trying to ascertain the difference between match fishing speed and pleasure fishing playing would slip still subdue the specific fish per number of elastic cos not everybody fishes matches. I see more fish lost at the net by using a puller than my good old solid without puller and I'm a matchman. This was why I wanted to know 👍
Hi Joe. I've been using 11 Dura Slip for a couple of weeks and really impressed on the strike. Caught F1s and carp to 8lb on it but sometimes difficult to control due to how much it stretches, even when stripped a couple of times in a pulla kit. Is that because it's too much elastic to put it through top 3 kit, or is just a case of getting used to it?
Hi Joe, do you think I could use the 5 and 7 through the no1 and 2 of my Airity pole connected to a stora bung, or would it be better through the top 3 with a pulla bung. It would be for silverfish at places like Carr Mill Dam. Thanks David.🤓
I've tried it but for me it's not as good as hydro. I've got white hydro in top kit thats 3 years old and still going. Hey Joe when is preston going to release that unhooking mat your sitting on? I need something like that for my specimen barbel fishing
Joe no disrespect intended but being sponsored by preston are you the best to review it... surely to get 100% "true reflection" of product a non Preston angler would be far better... like i said no disrespect but this is some what pointless
Just ordered some yesterday and I can't wait to try it out on the bank soon:D
I started to use the no 9 dura slip recently and it’s brilliant. Had carp to double figures on it and I can’t fault it so far 👍🏼

Well explained Joe. I’m changing all my top kits over from Zipp to Dura Slip. 👌👌
Peter Telford - You discuss reducing the elastic length by adding a length of braid. What knot do you use to connect the elastic to the braid?
I got 2 kits to elasticate for my 8m pole.. gonna stick a 13 and a 15 in tomoz 👍
You are an amazing angler love watching every thing you do incredibly informative and amazing to watch thanks joe brilliant

No reason to change the price 👍
Thanks Joe. Greetings from Belgium.

Some are and some are standard response kits.
Love the 11 through a shallow kit ! Was perfect at lindholme festival a few weeks back !
Brought some of the 15 Joe for Hallcroft margins, will feedback. Thanks mate good help.
You will love it!
hi joe how do u connect your dacron connector to this elastic great vid thanksderek
Been a big fan of slick but I may have to give this a whirl.
Its OK Joe, we have nowt better to do :-) No only joking, keep the videos coming. Could you get 2 short stops from 1 3mtr elastic.
Rich

If you leave a short piece in the sun... then try break it!!! Even when it looks perished it's incredibly strong

Deffo!!! But have the confidence that it is still strong 👍

It's great stuff John :)

Hi Joe great vid! I'm just wondering, what connections do you use with the dura slip, a Dacron or the bead connection?
I use just a bead for my short kits but for my carp kits I just use a dacron nowadays
@@MatchFishingFilms ok thanks Joe
Tom these grades as you have explained would they suffice without pulla kits in those grades with just bungs? I think this is an important question.👍
Joe... 😂
Yes I think so but think you need pulla bungs to be honest.

Thanks again Joe, Just wondering how tight you tension this elastic? seems quite pingy in your top kits. Cheers.
I have it just creeping in.
@@MatchFishingFilms Thanks, much appreciated.
Great video thank you. Going to start using dura this year! I was just wondering would you put the 13 in a match or power kit? (Long kits that it)
What pole do you have?
@@MatchFishingFilms Map 701 3g
The match kits are rated solid 12, hollow 12-16
Loving the 13 but I’ve noticed it needs trimming back after the first session
Ye just be careful as once it's set it's set 👍
What grade elastic would you use for silvers bream and ide up to 2lb with the potential small carp and tench?
The longer the kit, the less control you will have. In my Response kits they are perfect (2.3m)
@@MatchFishingFilms My top 3 is long so that sounds about right.
@@MatchFishingFilms my top kits are 2.3 .. hoping a white 13 and red 15 do the job 👍
Hi what would you use on your short kits 7 dura slip so it's the same as 11 holo or 11 dura slip as it's a shorter length of elastic
Hi Joe, great informative video as ever. Are you still planning to do a video on how to fit two F1 kits from a 3m length of the dura slip. Cheers 👍🏻
Yes next time I change my elastics I'll do it.
Thanks 👍🏻
Hi Joe, do you think I could use the 5 and 7 through the no1 and 2 of my Airity pole connected to a stora bung, or would it be better through the top 3 with a pulla bung. It would be for silverfish at places like Carr Mill Dam. Thanks David.🤓
I think they would be lovely. The 5 might be tremendous through that much pole
Cheers Joe almost converted 🌟
Joe, what elastic would you choose to use when replacing method elastic. Generally Bream to 7lbs with odd carp 5lbs?
I'd try the 13 lee
Bonjour étant donné que l'elastique mesure 3 m est t'il possible de le couper plus court !!
What would you suggest for silvers on canals?
No3 original slip
I've tried it but for me it's not as good as hydro. I've got white hydro in top kit thats 3 years old and still going. Hey Joe when is preston going to release that unhooking mat your sitting on? I need something like that for my specimen barbel fishing
We just have it custom made for our photography and filming.
@@MatchFishingFilms shame that the preston sister brand korum would make a killing with that
Joe no disrespect intended but being sponsored by preston are you the best to review it... surely to get 100% "true reflection" of product a non Preston angler would be far better... like i said no disrespect but this is some what pointless
But it isnt a review... purely explaining how the grades relate to the other hollo elastics we sell.
