So Karma decided to give me a big swift kick in the lower region and this happened (th-cam.com/video/7NQ06zpIkI8/w-d-xo.html)... but we will rebuild, it will be documented again... so leave a nice RIP in the comments and SUBSCRIBE. It means a ton for real... thanks everyone, cheers!
Great video. Keep up good work. I resonate with I don’t know if having a sim makes you better. As example I practiced all winter and golfed really great in the spring, and then something happened and I was horrible. All while maintaining practice on the sim. So I quit golf for 10 days total and just shot one of my best rounds ever. I also fight nerves a lot once I get on course.
Thanks Dale! I think also for both the simulator and out on the course I just had to reset and say… “dude just have fun!” I put a lot of pressure on myself for no reason at all sometime. Cheers!
Thanks for the video. Subscribed based on the fact you hit the island. LOL Gonna try to find the video where you built this out. I saw the video where you outlined the costs. Saw the simulator was retractable. I need that so Mama can park in the garage (you know how that is). I think you're in GA, not sure how cold it gets down there (I'm in DC) but wanted to ask if you left the projector in the garage over the winter months. I need a simulator that breaks down easily so my garage stays dual purpose. Thanks again.
Haha, thanks Kenny! Projector has lived in the garage full time. Winters get low 30s and its been a real hot summer here as well and I've had no issues. When I'm actually playing for the winter I'll run a space heater for a bit beforehand just to take a bit of the nip out of the garage. Summers I'll leave the interior garage door open to steal a bit of the A/C. Cheers!
A sim absolutely helps your on course game. I have no doubt about it. The number of balls is unlimited that you can hit on the sim. Its dropped my HC from a 5 to a 2
That’s awesome! For me… I just can’t seem to bring the same swing to the actual tee box… YET. I’m sure it has still helped me get back into the groove, but it’s time to be the best I’ve ever been! Cheers!
@@GolfOnTap I know what you mean the swing does feel different from Sim to course. What I like is hitting off a mat teaches you to pick the ball clean. Most courses I play you don't have tight lies is why I think the swing doesn't transfer. Cheers bro. Have to try an online match sometime with ya. I use GS pro as well. I'm waiting on my enclosure and I'll be swinging again. Took the one down on the barn was too cold wife let me move it into the house!!!!!
While both the range and the simulator are great tools to help hone your golf swing, when you get to the course you need to get into the "mindset to score". So, while you might be going 110% or 120% on the range, you need to dial it back a little on the course to say 80% or 85% in a lot of situations, and make "smart decisions" about "how to score" while "on the course". That means not taking the shot at the pin that Rory might take, but a much safer shot to the open part of the green so you can get up and down. You'll have some holes where you can "open it up to 100%", and know when those are. Play smart, shave strokes.
Awesome point, thanks for the tips! I think my biggest struggle is it just feels like my swing is completely different range/sim versus out on the course. It's coming together, but to your point... just trying to play smart and avoid double bogeys is huge for me right now. Cheers!
Not gonna lie, a little bummed out that it hasn't improved the game that much. My sole purpose of dropping 5-6k on a sim system was to drive my game down to scratch over the winter months.
Not sure how much u actually play on an actual course. But I think you would see more personal improvement if u played a lot on an actual course and also tracked your shots You could then attack those areas that your weaker on. I think you would definitely get better faster Keep it up Good show
I try to get out once a week. But actually… GSPro does have a course in the simulator that’s close to me. Going to practice in the sim and see how I do soon! Cheers!
@@GolfOnTap when I was younger (born in 91') my parents wouldnt let me have access to the internet cause of strangers. so I played a lot of AoE and Rollercoaster tycoon
@@jonq8714 I personally have not. However, I've had a couple friends nip it with their Driver and 3 wood. If you can get it up to around 9' somehow you should be good. Cheers!
I mean it’s not cheap for one, but also I wish I would have understood how important screen width is to get a good quality picture. I was only worried about height to swing the clubs. Mevo+ can be a bit finicky at times also, but still would recommend.
Hey Nick, I assume you mean to stop some of the balls missing the enclosure and yup! You are totally right! The main reason I had it further back was to give the Mevo+ a further distance to read the ball flight since it is a radar based unit. Cheers!

Gym mats for the wall padding? Brilliant! Im surprised I havent seen anyone else do this.
Great setup... building my duel purpose space now. thanks for the tips
No problem 👍

Simulator would be great to have for those long winter months in the northern regions for sure! Good video thanks
For sure, even in the southern states it gets wet and nasty. Thanks for the comment, cheers!
gr8 content bro! keep it up, keep working, golf is a journey
Thanks dude! Some exciting stuff dropping next week, cheers!
Try a pool noodle on the bottom of screen. Cut it down the middle and taco the screen in it and see if it helps. Might not but it’s a thought. 😅
That would have been a great idea, but I've changed my sim setup since this video. Thanks for the comment! Cheers!

What projector are you using?
It is a BenQ TH671ST 1080p Short Throw Projector. Cheers!

You would think having a sim would help your game, but I get on a real course and I cant hit the ball. I don't know if its the yips or what. lol
Same here! I’m trying to figure that out too… but it’s still tons of fun. Cheers!
I literally thought my shit was under attack in age of empires. I was like man I'm not even playing a game right now wtf.

how high are the ceilings in your garage?
8 feet 8 inches from concrete to ceiling. Cheers!
@@GolfOnTap have you ever hit it with your clubs? Mine is currently 8', looking to do some minor mods to it to get me 6-12 more inches.

Please read “Golf Is Not A Game Of Perfect”. It will help you play to your abilities on the course
Thanks for the recommendation, cheers!
How tall is it from mat to celing?
From mat to ceiling is about 8' 6" from where I hit the ball. Which is right on the razor's edge... now I need to listen to some Maiden. Cheers!

You know you can move all the grass 6-10" towards the door and your problem is solved right??
