since I bought it it's my go-to-lense. absolutly love it. and with the clear image zoom you can even make it a 32 mm 1.4.

I know sigma has been around for a little while, and they have great lenses for other mounts. However, I think this 16mm is a statement lens. The quality is amazing. I hope this is just a taste of what we are going to get with the new Sigma for Sony lenses coming out later this year.

Love the idea of this lens, I shoot on a a6500 and primarily use a combination of a 10-18 f4 and a 35mm f1.8 for vlogging. If this lens could zoom a little it would replace my 10-18.

great review, just bought the lens! *excited* Really hope camera shake won't be an issue for lower light photos for the a6000, but i heard it's less of an issue for wide angle lens?

Please ask Sigma to make a 16-50 2.8 apsc E-Mount lens next.

After my 5d die, I was in eager to find a good excuse to buy one of those last gen a7 series. I found your channel and it made me appreciate APS-C cameras again and my choice went to an a6400 (which lacks few things compare to the 6500 or 6600) to start with. I pretty much have to say the way you presented thoses cameras was a huge selling point and I got in addition to my new buddy the sigma 16mm. Oh my god this lens is making a huge difference, and oh god, I wished I had this camera when I was doing streetsnap during fashion weeks. Probably sharper, clearer images than my all my Canon lenses, fantastic bokeh, this lens is an absolute must have! Not really practical when you try to vlog, but hey, it does everything else you dream of.
Thank you for making me question my choices and I'll look forward more of your new videos (evem tho I am not really interested by the zv1 haha)!

Hey Jason, I have the a6500 and looking to upgrade to the a7III. I have 4 apsc lens and the fe 85mm lens. I shoot portraits and video. I want to upgrade mostly because of the battery. For the time being, I'd have to shoot with the lens I have and in time will get more full frame lens. How are apsc lens with the a7iii in terms of video? I haven't seen any videos of full frame cameras using apcs lens which I think needs to be done for people who are about to switch over to full frame but dont have the funds to switch over their lens to full frame. Need help thanks :)

Hi Sir thanks for the amazing video. I want to buy 1 lens for my Sony a6000 mostly for shooting mobile review videos which will be better Sigma 16 mm f 1.4 or Sony 35 mm f1.8 considering sigma dont have stabalization. Does it matter too much for tripod shots?
great lens but it needed to be smaller (shorter). The 28mm f/2 on FF is TINY in comparison and to be f/2 on FF it needs about the same amount of glass. That just shows how sony went after small and sigma went after IQ. There's a balance in there but this lens just went too big for me. It's funny, I love the size/weight on my a7riii and just use crop mode. But instead I'm waiting for the 24mm 1.4 GM so that I can also use crop mode and have ~35mm as well.

I currently own an a6000 camera with 35mm f1.8 prime, 10-18 f4 oss, and this lens.
Would you recommend selling either one of the two other lenses and keep this one? I shoot still and I enjoy taking pictures of streets, landscapes, and events.

how about with your A7iii? does the AF for video still hold up, as well as the other functions and lens sharpness?
Nice vid ;) I have this lens for my A6500 as well and really like it 👍 I wondered if anyone else who has this lens has noticed that it focuses way past infinity? i.e. Infinity is around 3 quarters along the scale when manually focusing. The focusing seems to step quite noticeably as well. Not a deal breaker but wondered if that was the norm for this lens?
I bought this lens for astrophotography and I realized that it was good for everyday use also . I have the a6000 but still good even without oss. I also sold the kit lens 16-50. Awesome humor and videos

Ugh i realllllyyy am interested in this lens!! I currently only have a Sigma 60mm f/2.8 prime lens on my a6000, which i love it's great, but I just need probably 2 more lenses to be versatile. I'm trying to get into portraiture this semester/year (headshots for college students and potentially senior pictures for college students). Realistically in the next 6 months I'll probably be getting 2 lenses. One that I really wanna get because it's so versatile is the G-OSS 18-105mm, and the other lens I was thinking of getting was a 35mm f/1.8. But this Sigma is just sooo appealing, I'm wondering if I should consider the 16mm over the 35mm. Aside from the portraiture i'm trying to get into I also really enjoy photographing cars and kinda wanna try getting into photographing landscapes too!
For my first venture into real photography, if I only had one lens would it be bettet to have this lens or the 1.4 30mm? Looking at the A6400 or Canon M50 Mark II but the Sony seems to feel better. Thoughts?

Hi Jason, thanks for all of your a6400 guide videos. I just got myself an a6400 with the Sony FE2 28mm lens. As a very beginner, I hope I did not make a wrong buy with it. However, I have been getting out of focus pictures especially indoor (a bit dim) and very grainy. Would you please guide me how to get a better picture? Maybe settings or lens upgrade such as this Sigma 16mm f1.4? I have watched your other video about the a6400 setting as well. Thanks a lot. 👍
