hi! Construction continues. The hut of my dreams or elf house is getting better and better every time. We managed to do a lot of work today. I dug a hole for the terrace, installed a door, insulated the walls and even sowed a lawn on the roof. In the evening, after a hard day in the fairy forest, I cooked a delicious dinner. Shawarma on fire turned out great, like in Turkey. I wish you a pleasant viewing part 4, I think we will meet again soon!

It'd be cool if one day there was an underground tunnel that linked both his dugouts. Not likely but a fun thought nonetheless.

I’ve never seen dirt that easy to dig. My property is red clay and rock. I want to put in a root cellar. It’s a pick and bar job. 😏 Like your videos. Gives a guy reason to dream.
That's what I was thinking. I worked for years in southeastern Idaho in excavation/cable bury/fiber optics. It was pry bar and pick all the time. But in Denver the soil is easy...

This self house reminds me of my dad; when he built a barn when us 7 children were younger and shorter he only built it so high and when we got older we'd smack our forehead on the door frame; after a fire and had to rebuild most of us had hard time going down to cellar for whatever reason, the only time I went down I had to be on my stomach on lay on stairs as I went down them- he did not so if you were too tall or too big you would not fit down the stairs LOL we always told him he built for himself because he didn't think his children would be taller than him, he barely reached 5 foot only the youngest 2 were as short as he was the rest are 5' 6" or taller
nice door lock ... portable and effective and simple ... easy to fix or replace too ;)
nice dinner at the end ... I got to remember to try that ;)

there is a lot of literature available how to and so forth. Read some of it and then get at it. It is not only fun, but it requires hard labour and determination. But it is well worth it. Good luck and let us see what you did. We have built both, a dugout and a chalet. (we live in our Swiss Chalet…..)

You should expand it and add another room on the right side of the entrance door where you dig. That's where your woodstove and food preparation will be. Move that wall and window further.

Now you just need a water filtration system. Should be easy to build if you can find some sand.
