  • It seems that the current in the Atlantic Ocean that brings warmth to the Northern hemisphere is likely to stop within the current decades. This will have devastating consequences all over the world.

If you've enjoyed any of the videos on the channel and want to support me, then you're welcome to buy me a slice of (virtual) pizza via the buymeacofffe website - www.buymeacoffee.com/counteverything
There are no benefits to you, apart from receiving my thanks. I don't need the money, but I do sometimes need the encouragement.

Exceptionally well explained! I have no clue why the world is not interested to hear about the upcoming AMOC collapse!

"Was not factored into climate models"... we will be hearing this a lot in the future!

What makes me unfathomably angry is that there are people with a vested interest in seeing the AMOC stop, and those people are also the people with the most power.
Keep fighting the good fight ❤️

Who are these people and what are their reasons?

@@Herkuzz Those who survive off of the value produced by other people’s labour. They must see the AMOC fall, because it is too costly to save it, which would damage their chances of economic survival.

@@peoplerepellent299 I do not agree, everybody would have great damage when the amoc fails, there will be no winners at all.

@@thunderstorm6630 yet capitalism for some reason perpetuates climate change anyway, almost like the problem is the system itself

@@thunderstorm6630 It would seem so on paper, but the richest of this owning class would likely get even richer, seeing what happened during the covid crisis.

Fascinating time to live through! Cascading tipping points, planetary boundaries, ecological overshoot, 25 of 35 earth vital signs at record (bad) levels, non linear feedbacks. Great time for the UK to cut red tape, instill a growth mindset in the regulators and pump £20bn into an unproven (and IMHO, fantasy) CCSU technology. Nice video.

I really love your brutally honest and to-the-point videos. I knew most of this already, but it's great to hear it expressed so clearly, a warning to anyone who's listening. Will our 'leaders' and decision-makers listen?
I will share on social media, but can do little else, other than continuing my very low carbon lifestyle, for what it's worth.

I would argue the rainfall aspect has already started, massive atypical flooding all over north and western Europe... I think the AMOC collapse will be within 10 years, to be honest...

In geological maps showing CC effects in the ancient past it shows a big white cooler blob west of England and anther where I live in a pocket of Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. Past 5+ yrs summers have been cooler, used to hit 100 most of July and august now barely gets 90-95F and winters are milder and fluctuate from cold to warm all winter.
Don’t get me started on bugs birds and plants 🤯

Some climate scientists assert that we are already past 2C heating above base line 1750! So all these predictions will happen much earlier than expected?
