As a PFL RS3 owner (2015 car) I had no issues whatsoever so far. Great car with a unique and fantastic sound, I absolutely love the RS3 experience, it really sounds like a mini supercar or half a V10 as people often say. I would recommend though: Halve the service intervals required by Audi and you won't have problems. Oil change every 10000 km is mandatory in my eyes. I even change the spark plugs every 10k aswell, just to be sure. Other than that of course don't floor it when the oil and transmission are still cold or not up to operating temperatures and when you really pushed it for a long period of time, "drive it cold" again. I also heard of the mentioned issues in the video aswell from other owners, but that was the minority. Service is key, if you take care of your car, it will have a long lifespan. The 5 cylinder engine is pretty robust when serviced well and regularly
what mileage? I consider buying 120k miles 2017/18 rs3 and wonder if the bottom of the engine will be ok assuming that oil was serviced properly. Any thoughts?
@@Liverpudlian4Lifeeehey bro thinking about buying a pfl with CZGB engine how much money as a safety net should you have after buying car I was thinking around £10000
@@thatguy898 if you got 10000 thats more than enough. The maintenance costs of an RS3 can be surprisingly „low“ or lower than Most people think. I would definitly recommend not to service the car at Audi, because Audi prices are just ridiculous really and you should buy things such as oil, spark plugs, brake discs and pads etc yourself. Apart from that I think you meant a safety net more in case that something will be defective and yeah, 10000 is absolutely enough for that. If you service the car regularly (engine oil change every 10000 km is mandatory in my eyes) , you maintain it well, let it warm up properly before you really push it and all those things, I personally think you won‘t have a Problem. There are PFL and FL RS3s here in germany available on the used car market that have 200000+ kms and also one that even had 300000 on it which is quite astonishing for a car Like that, but it proves that These do last long without any issues if you really take care of them
@@Liverpudlian4Lifeee yeah 100% thanks for replying bro just wanted to know for sure before buying one and not to regret it in England we are looking at same price I have seen some good break pads and discs on autodoc and a good price and understandable not to push your car when the transmission is cold and oil is not up to temp heard sometimes they have issues with transfer boxes but as long as I maintain it should be good also again appreciate the reply bro good to see you are enjoying yours
I own a 2018 8V RS3. The DRL are prone to burn out on these cars and replacing the unit is expansive since you often have to replace the entire headlight just to fix a bloody DRL! Thanks Audi engineers!
@@protoXlad695well… audi wants to replace the headlights directly. If the inner strip is not burnt, you can get away with just replacing the modules which are around 100€ per lamp.

I came to the comment section to write this exactly!! My modules just burnt out on both headlights and omg... talk about an unexpected extra expense!
