My 3" Python is my CCW carry gun and I absolutely love it. Accurate as hell, and extremely easy to carry and conceal. Couple with Galco holster and you're set for life. A beautiful piece of kit.
I have the 3" and absolutely love it, and deadly accurate. I never adjusted the sights and shoots where you point. I have a tan leather OWB holster from Azula. Thanks for sharing 🇺🇸
I bought the 4" in January 2023 I just got the 3" in July 2023 I haven't shot the 3" yet I changed the rear sight on both with wilson combat rear sight I hit a steel silhouette target from 200 yards with my smith and wesson model 629-6 Talo edition 6.5 barrel. I'll will try it with both my pythons
I'd love to see the ballistic performance of those .357 magnum rounds coming out of that 3" barrel and compare them to those coming out of the 4" barrel. I'm pretty sure not much energy and velocity is lost between those barrel lengths.
I have the 686-6 4inch s&w. I haven't tried a snake gun yet, just looking at the difference between the 3in and 4in barrels. I was seeing a little more accurate. The only 2 things stopping me from getting one is the price and the pull back on the cylinder release. I do hear awesome things about them.
I’ve got the same 686. Didn’t want to shell out at once for a Python, so I’m making payments on a 4 inch 2020s model Python. Sold my GP100 Match Champion.

3 if it's gonna be for carry is my vote. You will never miss the few fps, but if it's just enough to be uncomfortable, your always gonna kick yourself for not going with the shorter barrel. It really depends on your build and how you carry though.
What is the best bullet weight for a .357 mag revolver? Ie: 125 grain JHP or what ? TY Which barrel length do you recommend, 3” or the 4 1/4” ? I’ve had 2 1/2, 4, & 6” S&W model 66s. They are nice.
Colt could step up their game. Smith and Wesson has given up the wheel gun crown now that all that's right all their wheelies have a stupid built in lock. No wheel gunner is gonna settle for that. Step up colt. C Z step up push colt to prominence in the wheel gun race again.

I would say tough, without both guns properly sighted in to compare accuracy. Id think the 4.25 would give you a more accurate range farther away then the 3 inch . Definitely the 3 inch will have faster action wth the shooter. In the end id go with the 4.25 for shooting paper and silhouettes id never use the 3 inch for carry. Since i use glock 43 x with 15 round mags or a j frame ultrlalight 38 revolver in my car 3 inch python to heavy to lug around for carry, definitely would shoot any of em alot at the range though. 3 4 or 6😊

I like 125 in mine for defense, that’s the most accurate outta my 3”
heavier 158 gr hit higher than the other light ones...and feel less recoil

I’m having a hard time on which barrel length to buy 3,4,6 which would y’all suggest
6" for the safe, 3" if you want to carry it and 4" if you are going to shoot it regularly ( including magnums).
Get the 4 which is the most practical length for a gun of this size. The 6 inch is a good choice for hunting and it looks very nice.
I hear you, same issue 4 vs 6 for me. I'm leaning 4, but I'll never carry the thing, so the 6 may win.
If you're going to get just one, get the 4". If you can get 2, the 3" and 6".
