    I'm having a moment. I read your graphic novel about a month ago... and was raving about the artwork on my book channel. I said it was the best art I have seen in a graphic novel and how much I loved it. Well... I have been watching this channel since you started and have followed you on insta for a long time too... but I didn't connect the two together. I just realized that YOU did the Art for Grimoir Noir and my mind is blown. Two things I love just came together into one, and I don't know what to do with it.

    It's so interesting that you're talking about having an issue drawing profiles because I went through the exact same thing last year to the point that all the final pictures I drew were nothing but profiles because I was trying SO hard lol. But it's also funny that I have the opposite problem of NOT being able to vary the features after learning to properly draw the generic face.
    Lol, you're completely right about not being able to reach a point of being completely happy with your art. I feel like it's an inevitable curse every artist must face. You get comfortable and then all of a sudden you, "Holy shit I suck!" LOL.
    And why did I never think to use Disney turn around sheets as a reference when drawing the head from different angles. Especially since I'm TRYING to stylize my art. If there is one thing Disney always gets right, it's their developmental department. The artist there can do no wrong. This is why I love these types of videos of yours. You say simple things that should be SO obvious, but my brain just has a million lightbulbs going off at once! TTwTT
    "I feel really disappointed in myself when I have to use the eraser." TRUER WORDS NEVER SPOKEN, OMG LOL! Why do we think the eraser is an enemy?! Smh.
    And oh, a model sheet video would be good, but instead of it being the basic model sheet it could be something where the character I drawn from multiple different angles and expressions. :)
    Lol, this is the most rambling comment I've made so far. Lol, I love the video it's always nice to hear what you have to say about your art journey! Can't wait to see what you do next!

    Hi, can u do a tutorial of how you draw body proportions? I really love how you draw, and I really want to improve my skills in drawing body proportions, cuz mine seems too stiff and not correctly proportionate...

    I love how much time you put into your videos. On top of that, you're so real and it's a nice switch-up from the loud art videos that don't teach much and only last like 7 minutes. It's like listening to a friend chat about art and it's so soothing :)

    As a newbie to sketching, I find your warm up videos so informative and inspiring - to be referenced multiple times. Your voice overs really are the cherry on top; I love hearing your insights and thought processes. That said, please keep creating videos, even if you don't have time to do voice overs - they're so valuable. If possible, could you record a similar video focused on hand and feet. In your figure drawing warm up video, you made it look so effortless.... but for me it's anything but effortless, and still comes out looking horrendous. Thanks again, and keep up the amazing work!

    Love the idea of videoing your warmups. I’m so bad at doing warmups, as in like, I never do them. Watching yours is super helpful and even drawing along with you while you do it is super helpful :)

    i think that is an excellent video idea! I think lots of artists newer to character design would benefit it a lot and it would be fun to watch you make sheets for your characters!

    I'm the same, I love to watch videos with audios on the side as I work too! Profiles are tough man, I found Cedarseed's Guide to Human Types indespensable. The art isn't 100% accurate but the observations on the different profiles depending on ethnic origin are super helpful!

      @@gemacornejo9013 It is never too late to start. Many artists in art history began painting at an advanced age. And his works are in the history of art. So everything is to start and keep practicing. As long as you feel happy doing it. That is the important thing.

      Yes, gracias Gema,
      You're right! I'm at that stage with I'm always have I book handy to ink in. I do it constantly at home too. Its an obsession. Much success for you too Gema on your art journey. :0) RD

    I do this too. I keep a list of all the things I need to figure out better and I will work on those things for like 30 minutes as a warmup pretty often. It really helps to focus on figuring out specific things and just drawing them over and over.
    You said in a previous video that you don't really just sit down and draw without a plan. I am like this too and I find it can be difficult to sketch creatively. I was wondering if you would ever make a video on your creative process?

    • @CosmicSpectrumArt
      @CosmicSpectrumArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think that sketching people probably have different approaches. I lean toward creativity being an expression of problem solving, rather than JUST expression. So my creative process revolves around asking questions and answering them visually, like is this character short or tall? Are they doing this or that? Would this look better green or blue? etc.
      I'm not sure how i'd go about making a video on this topic haha, it seems pretty concise so I wouldn't be able to talk about it at length I don't think..

    • @eyeyeye-fm9oo
      @eyeyeye-fm9oo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CosmicSpectrumArt hmm yeah I should try doing that questioning approach more I guess. I just find it gets kinda difficult because I've only been at this for a year and when I start asking questions it very easily gets too difficult for me to do atm, but I think I just need to focus a bit more on what I can achieve atm instead.

    I can relate a lot on the raw footage thing. I have a lot of video ideas and I'll film it all but when it actually comes to adding commentary, I avoid it. I want to add commentary but I'm a perfectionist when it comes to it and I want to get better at them.

    You can concentrate on your drawing while filming by doing a voice over instead of talking and filming at the same time.
