*IMPORTANT* I made a mistake by saying protea's shield grenades 3x the shield gate duration it is actually 2x and that means that it is about 5 seconds as the max shield gate we get now is 2.5 seconds. Augur mods do not affect the shield gate duration i tested it multiple times in the simulacrum and it is still about 5 seconds for the shield gate duration!
Augur mods and brief respite kills her, dunno what kind of testing you did, but it DOES NOT work well on her. Once you cast a ability with her 1 activated you effectively reduce the shield gating duration.

I would also like to mention the larva helminth from nidus to group and then one turret with all the enemies grouped and infinite punch through will do insane dmg its kind of busted. Its an older playstyle when she first came out that I still have on my original protea.
only issue is that helminth larva has a dramatically reduced base range, down to 8m. Because of that I personally don't like it on any sort of larger map, like circuit.
I feel like Ensnare might do a better job for a playstyle like that with its higher grouping range, as long as you get the timing down for the embed time
She’s been my main since I got her over a year ago. I agree the 4th is quite tedious at first but once I broke down all the aspects of the ability, it quickly became my favorite on her. It can be an insane self priming nuke ability, be a unique type of movement tech, part of a weapons platform build, and more. Ofc I don’t think it’s the best at any of those things but it has a lot of flexibility once you get to know it better. PS her base sprint speed and her passive make her a great candidate for infested mobility speed build
lol ive just made protea today and i like her fourth cause you can just activate it run toward danger spam your moves get yoinked be mostly out of danger and have that energy refunded

I saw a player showed up with her last year and put up the turrets and that was it lol😂 a literal stationary ranger and the player was moving all over the place, today I used her to grind out 95 steel essence in 5hrs by standing still against infested, no augments, no helm because I'm not that rich yet, but I was pretty much doing the roar build, without using grenade fan because ntn could live, this has opened my eyes to a lot of things im missing tho thanks
I like her rewind ability cause when you rewind you get all ur energy and ammo back that you use while the ability was active. It works great if you like using a ton abilities a lot
same exactly why i worked toward getting her prime shes my third after gauss and sevagoth and the timing could not be any better cause there was a REALLY COOL protea helmet in the nightwave offerings this week, timing on the mavv helmet could not have been better lol
Dont put augur mods on protea or a secondary weapon when using her since it will cancel the extra shield gate duration of her 1st ability. Dunno if its a bug or not

after testing over 27 helminth options on protea. Double greenshards/Viral tempest barrage is 10000% the most solid good feeling build there is. Use nautilus for grouping and its perfect

If you want a different play style I actually recommend a temporal anchor play style subsuming over grenade fan with breach surge, fire blast, air burst, or larva
Shield satellites only double the shield gate invincibility time, not triple it. And that can give her up to 5 seconds when she hits the cap, which is easy with the satellites, not the 3-ish seconds you said in the video. Also her passive is not good for Shrapnel or Artillery. Shrapnel's main use is stagger in large areas, extra strength doesn't do much for it. Artillery benefits more from +15% duration than it ever could from +100% strength (fires 3 times per second, getting one extra shot per 15% dur, while doubling damage for each hit. Math works out in favour of duration)

Regarding the strength part yes and no i agree with you to a degree. If the base damage scaling is higher that means the 100% bonus you get per increase will scale the damage way more and especially because the base damage is higher the heat DOTS will do significantly more damage so i would say duration and strength go hand in hand there. But yes the turrets will effectively do more damage with the more duration you have 100%
Now if only DE would change Temporal Anchor into being a channeled ability instead of on a duration as it is currently, that would massively improve the ability's quality of life so you're never forced to rewind (unless you take fatal damage while it's active). Tap to rewind, hold to cancel. The simplest change would make the ability widely more useful.
idk the fact you can cast your abilities while rewinding and since it restores your resources to what they were at that moment so you can basically cast your abilites for free and if your maxed on energy when you cast the only cost is the energy it took to cast it so everything is basically free for however you long you have temp anchor on and it would be slightly more annoying if you wanna play like that so if you play her as a complete spam frame its pretty good still her worst ability but still (also no efficiency needed)
I love subsuming out dispensary for coil horizon, flavored with archon stretch for passive energy regen. Temporal erosion for armorstrip too. I like planning out my encounters with Protea and her temporal shenanigans, so as long as im thinking about my consumption, i basically dont worry about energy. Would violet shards for extra ability damage on shock-proc'd enemies be too much?
The only issue i have with protea is i move a lot and so dispensary can sometimes feel useless. Like if i need energy i have to drop in and stand there waiting for health or energy orb to drop
Its really funny seeing tempest protea because after months of theorycrafting, testing and making different hydroid builds, subsuming dispensary onto his 4 ended up being the best (imo).

Drop rate of the relics you need is ridiculous & stupid I farmed for 3 hours & didn't get the relics I need. When I did manage to get 5 of each relics the drops of the parts are even more ridiculous
sometimes i run her with the blessing arcane and use health convertion that stacks 450 armor 3x. And when i really her tanky i also throw in gloom. And if for whatever reason if you wanted more survivability rolling guard should be the cherry on the top
I like Turret's not fraud's. Protea disappoints me every time I play her and I want to love her because she is theoretically the perfect Frame for me, and yet she fall's short in the most important ways.
You can spam a lot of abilities when her 4th ability is active and all the energy that you used will be restored when the ability ends. You can have infinity energy if you know what you are doing and do a lot of damage.

Just put on Tempest Barrage and let me just say…. Throw down 2 then Tempest and everything melts away so wonderfully. I also use Viral Tempest mod.

Been running hydroid tempest for a while now really works well and i also use oxylus sentinel with helstrum weapon applying status on enemies
