I got pl7.. Heavier but god the bass on that with poweramp music player is deep nice and sounds better to me than those jbl boomboxes. It's more hi-fi sounding to me too. Sound boost is more realistic comparing to others that turn treble up too much (aka ear piercing as you mentioned) 👍

@Mathias Müller i mostly use it for that specific purpose its works amazing for surround sound.My tv allows me to adjust speaker level etc .Far exceeded my expectations. Music on the other hand kinda distorted at higher levels. Definitely will be buying a second one for my surround sound..probably the pl7 as well.I do recommend if you're hardcore gamer get the nano 85 model it has native 120 refresh rate.I have the basic 81 model,still does wonderful for my ps4.
This looks like one of the only recent big name Bluetooth speakers of this type with an aux jack still. I want this to be able to plug into my laptop on my desk for better sound on it most of the time, with the ability to take it out and use Bluetooth with my phone of course as a bonus. This looks like it will fit the bill perfectly! Both the comparable Sony XB series and the Marshall Emberton which is one I really like the look of lack the aux port. I don't know about the JBL Flip or Charge though. A bonus is this LG one is currently (March 2022) nearly a 3rd the price of the most expensive of the others I mentioned at around $67USD!

I was about to buy Anker Soundcore, but read that the 30 W power actually can't be well held up by the hardware and sound starts to come off as bad after some time. But if they were offering this LG speaker in at least a camoflouge or green style as well and they put a small handle, and figured out how not to leave those vibrating parts so vulnerable to breaking if the device falls down - it would have been perfection.

So thinking this be a great back surround speaker for movies in the bedroom or just common play for guests that come over and want to stream their music on my living room. Seems also holds up well as a shower speaker...main reason I was looking for reviews. Seems it def will!
yes it will do fine with just about anything, my wife uses it to game now. when she doesn't want to wear headphones. Yes it should handing sitting on the side of the shower with no problem because it can handle a little bit of splash on it
I was tossing up between the Sony and LG. Sony definitely has deeper bass. LG is more balanced and no distortion at top end, even on sound boost. I chose the LG for the music I listen to. Whilst bass is not as deep as Sony, the LG bass is still very good. Meridian have done a great job and glad I went with the pl7. Sounds fantastic.
I haven’t tried those out yet but those are the ones I want to try out soon. Sorry about that I don’t want to tell you this one is better just because I reviewed it and it might not be better than the PK 5/7
I dont know the pls serie. The JBL Charge 4 is the best for its size. It has great bass,great sound ,loud. It is portable. But Pk7 has better sound.(after firmware update) Jbl charge4 bass decrease with maximum volume. Pk7 bass does't decrease with maximum volume. I think the jbl charge4 doesn't have half the bass of the LG pk7 at maximum volume. If the volume is down 70% both have almost same bass.(emo)
Yes that is how my wife uses it now. But also for the desktop Bose has the soundlink mini ii on sell for $99 instead of $200. Its refurbished but it's still sold from Bose itself might be a good deal for a desktop speaker as well. bose.life/2UWxH8o

I would say for the money you want to spend. The flip 4 will have a fuller sound. But the pl5 will not be that back of a option. How much is soundcore motion + out there? If that is in your budget get the soundcore motion+

I heard the flip 5 a coworker had it was good but I have never heard the Bose color 2 so I can’t choose. I need to step my portable speaker game up lol
Get the flip 5. i got the sound link color 2.Its got poor bass but good sound quality.Battery sucks.Within 2 hours it needs a full charge when i play it on 90% and takes over 2.5 hours to fully charge.not worth it.

This speaker is IPX5 so it’s not water proof. More like splash/spill proof. So don’t dump it into the water like I did for the test 👍

With bluetooth will the speakers work well? I heard macbook when hooked to monitor over bluetooth audio there is a major delay in the audio.
IPX5 water resistance. Splashes will be ok, might be a future problem in the water test.

that one is tricky. This speaker does get loud but I think depending on your tv it will be almost about the same.

JBL Flip 4 has much better sound quality then the Flip 5 because the Flip 5 has mono speakers, not stereo.
