ABOUT HDR CONTENT: HDR offers much higher brightness and contrast as well as much richer 10 bit color for a more true life like viewing experience. Note, this film was meant to be viewed on HDR capable devices that offer higher dynamic range and 10 bit color. Most of the latest smartphones and televisions are HDR capable. You can check the TH-cam quality setting to see if your device is HDR capable. If it is then the HDR quality indicator is shown next to the resolution, for example “1080p HDR”.

Did you shoot real HDR‘s (bracketed RAW‘s/JPG‘s)? Or are these generated HDR‘s from single RAW‘s?

Hi Jan thanks! Great question. HDR photography and video are entirely separate concepts and processes. HDR video consists of a very high dynamic range the brightness of the pixels goes up to 1,000-2,000 nits depending on the display characteristics, along with a wide color gamut of 10 bits which allows for ~1Billion colors. This is different than HDR still photography with bracketing. Bracketing is not part of what’s called “HDR video” using HLG or PQ gamma transfer functions…and it’s not necessary either. However, all of this film was created starting with 14 bit raw files.
